    Excellent point from @JordanBuhrsRugby that this squad might be designed to keep New Zealand and Argentina guessing about what combinations Rassie will pick for the upcoming tests. I doubt we'd see a side like this against the ABs but their coaches will definitely be thinking long and hard about which new faces they might be up against.

    Think further than just wining a game of rugby. Rassie is probably looking at these 6 Rugby Championship tests as an ideal opportunity to 'blood' his squad in the long process towards 2027. These new names in the team won't be so new by 2027 world cup time...some old ones now in the team, may only make the bench by then, or not. Let him experiment, even if it means losing a test or two.We have bounced back from losses before. Rassie has a major headache of unbelievable talent to call on and introduce. We are blessed for choice. Hs is innovative...so pleased with that.

    • @davesmith826
      @davesmith826 2 месяца назад +5

      I agree with this entirely. However, I only wish Rassie would embrace the principle. He had no good cause to field the exact same matchday 23 in the second Ireland test. I knew the minute the team was announced that we'd get injuries, and that is precisely what happened. He did the same thing in the World Cup against England, and we came within a whisker's hair of losing. We have a giant squad. If he doesn't play Kriel he's got a former World Player of the Year contender Am to turn to. If he doesn't play Pollard, he's got Mannie. If he doesn't play Kolbe he's got Mapimpi. And so on.
      Apart from this, he's obviously a world-class coach and I'm obviously very happy we have him. I'd be a fool to say otherwise.

    This has Rassie strategy written all over it. How to win in 2027 RWC? Create a team that is impossible to plan against. Players switching positions throughout the game creates a dynamic that is difficult to plan for. Pollard at 12 is a different player from Pollard at 10. PSDT at 7 vs 5. Etc. And Tony Brown to hone that strategy to perfection. Exiting times! Thanks for your excellent channel.

    It would be easy for Aus to do their prep on the same team from last week, however, now they have to look at 10 changes which even though with the same type of structure will pose different problems. The bench is there to either see out the game or rescue if necessary. Plus, the new guys will be rearing to go and will provide fresh impetus and mongrel.

    • @kevinewert4037

      I don’t know about more important. The Boks were the oldest team playing over the weekend and a team can go from experienced to aging in a very short period of time. That’s one reality, as Rassie would put it. The other reality is that the ABs have dropped a game, so running out an inexperienced starting side against what seems to be the weakest team in the competition is not so great a gamble, particularly since they’ve got so much experience on the bench.

      @@sakabula2357 Question though... were Australia shit because we did not allow them into the game or are they genuinely shit. If the former, then we need to keep that boot planted firmly on the throat and not let go and I feel with the players they have and the coach they have, they will not be the same pushovers they were last week.
      I could be wrong, I certainly hope I am!

    Rassie just said in an interview that they have Handre covering 12. I think at this point it’s clear Rassie has everyone levelling up from master of one trade into being masters of all. It’s just ridiculous now who the third and 4th picks are for most positions that would walk onto other teams. It’s mind blowing to me how well Kriel has been that he’s keeping Am off the team kinda. Am is just crazy good

    I'm a South African now living in NZ. I've come from a population of 68 million to a population of 5 million. I have great appreciation for the passion of the All Blacks and Kiwis for their rugby. Yes Rassie has a lot of depth in his squad, SA has a massive bank of talent to choose from and probably a much bigger budget. What I love about the Kiwis is their humility and their guts to give it all they've got. I'm a teacher, and my principal Paul, took some precious leave to fly to support the AB this last week. This country is one of the smallest on the world map, but they have a big heart. I am a proud supporter of the Boks and the AB, with Jerseys for both.
