I like more the Japanese Pokemon openings than the Western ones, I haven't listened to a lot of them yet but I remember all the way from "Mezase Pokemon Master" to "Best Wishes", now I will try to listen to the rest of the openings
Overall the music of the Japanese version is much better, including the original ost of the series. It's not that there aren't good OPs in the Western version, but the most iconic ones are from slightly older generations, in the Japanese version there's consistently good and memorable music

I swear the first opening is so iconic, but for me the Pokemon series was at an alltime high when she reached generation 6 and with that came insane openings aswell. Volt and XYZ are alltime favourites of mine aswell! Thanks for covering all those songs that are connected to so many memories of people wide around the world!
Not to mention that before that generation there were also several iconic and well-remembered songs, as well as good ones, and since generation 7 it has been the same, the original anipoke has very good music always

@@fentimablader Blame complex and expensive licensing for that. It's sad but that's how it is and still is to an extent though in the current times we're in, it's becoming a non-issue.
@@Ziko577 they were just too cheap. even adapting the JP songs into english would've been alright like funimation used to do. the licensing could be a little complicated but the fact that they never *ever* tried shows a lack of respect for the source material
@@fentimablader That's very true. 4Kids having it was a mistake and a half. I rewatched the original Mewtwo Strikes Back and the difference in tone is night and day especially with the origin story of Mewtwo involved. I saw that guy way differently afterward.
My favorite ones are last openings for pokemon xy, sun and moon, and journeys. XYZ showed Ash at his most badass and charismatic mode, Sun and Moon last opening showed Ash being at his most fun and enjoyable mood, and Journeys last opening showed Ash using both his XY and SM characteristics to be on par with other champions

Great job, I love it, hopefully one day you can attempt a Yu-Gi-Oh or Digimon version of this video meaning the Japanese openings or a Kamen Rider or Ultraman version of the Super Sentai openings because all those are my favorite Japanese openings, anime or live action.
I know he did all the sentai openings from Gorenger to Donbrothers but I meant all Kamen Rider or Ultraman openings as well and maybe a solo video for King-Ohger
Went to the XYZ theme right away because it's my favorite one (yes, even counting the English openings). Then, went right back to the beginning and am listening to them all. This is definitely awesome to see PelleK did something like this for Pokemon again!
