I do agree to a point on these rods being the best. Question is, is it the best rod for you? You get alot of guys that buy a rod because of the name on it, but they cant load/cast the rod to save their life. Take the same person and give them a kyasuto or evo and they cast a mile. When shopping for a rod to buy... Choose a correct size/strengh rod for the species size you target then factor in the rods casting action to get the best performance that suits your casting action. Otherwise you gonna look like a chop with an expensive rod.
With you, I used an Assassin Beachmaster II No5 the first time this weekend, the increase in sensitivity and not having that annoying curve in the tip while waiting for bites are as important as the slight improvement in casting distance. High end rods are a different experience, dont always catch more fish, but are oh so nice to use
Let’s put it this way… we would rather drive a Porsche than a Citi Golf🤣 I think having a better quality rod makes the world of difference- casting, sensitivity, playing a fish etc… does it make you a better angler… no🙈 But the Horizon is really in a league of its own!
have you done a review of the Okuma Mariana , i have the Assasin Zero Championship Edition #5 partnered with a Stella SW14k (2019) and am looking at a Mariana 5-7 , how do the two brands compare. On paper they look very similar.... Great channel...subscribed!
Hey bud Thanks for the comment!!! We use the Mariana (7-9 and 4-6), but yet to do a video on them. For sure within the next month we will have one out, as we have put the rods through their paces🙈🎣
I purchased some sort of rod from you guys. Can't remember the name it is a 14.6 blue marlin maybe and some big boss 6000 reel. I really battled to cast this rod or the line in the direction that I want it to go. But it sure can cast a distance indeed
Hey bud It’s a brilliant rod- no doubt about that💪🏻🎣 Berkeley make some of the best rods on the market, undoubtedly👌🏻 but this new generation of Assassin rods is in a league of its own🥰
@@untraceablefishing yes that is true. It just comes down to with rod you want. I have the berkley and man i must say i have hooked some nice spotted gully shark. And lost some. But i must say that berkley can pull. The assassin must be an good rod to but for the price between the two, it comes down to the Angler what he or she wants. I vlog about travels and fishing that i do as i get time on weekends after work to post it on ky youtube channel. I have realized that when you look for an rod and just want to see how that specific rod preforms on youtube it is sometimes not there or it is there but not a lot of information. Love your channel.
Morning. Just some input please. 14ft 4 to 6oz rod. Precision, makaira or the euphoria. Want to use it for edible fishing. Am not a shark fan but if he is stuck to my hook then i must be able to get him out 😂. Thanks fishos
I guess it comes down to your budget… All 3 are good rods- we have just bought 2 of the Marianas. So basically as you go up in price, so the quality of the carbon and Fuji components improve. The same Fuji components as the top spec assassin rods are found on the Mariana- we LOVE that rod. The precision is great- but it’s slightly heavy. The Euphoria is light and amazing- it’s a great choice! The Makaira is slightly better, but feels heavier than a Euohoria🤣 Choices, choices… but if I were you… go MARIANA💪🏻
@@kevindamons2609 bud, that’s the hardest part🤣 On a serious note- I have always fished 11ft, and after trying the Mariana for 1 day, I now have 2 within a week🤣🤣🤣
Hey Kobus I guess this depends on which brand you are after (sizing can differ). I may be wrong, but I think you’re a Daiwa man?🤣 let me know and I’ll give you a proper answer💪🏻
@@kobuswentzel so here is what we would do… Because you are spending that kind of money on one of the best, we say pair it with the best: -40lb JDB DNA braid - Daiwa Saltiga 10k or 14k -Penn Authority 6500 I hope this answers your question! That would make a hands down amazing setup! Have a look at Bilimorias website for the best pricing💪🏻

I have to agree with Don. The horizon is on a whole different level all together💪🏻 We have the Euphoria- an amazing rod for the price… but it’s not a Horizon…
One tend to forget that this is just a tool. This market is fast becoming the same as the hunting industry. Will this rod make ME a better fisherman? I doubt it. And I am sure there will be a flurry of debates to prove this wrong.
Agree you can use any rod to catch fish, but just like we all enjoy an SUV or double cab which we dont always need, they are an experience and the more you pay the better experience. While high end rods are by no means essential to have they are finely honed tools any angler can appreciate

Does the 5 cast a 6 oz sinker comfortably ?
