Great review, didnt know this car existed. I have an 03 lancer oz rally auto, its been super reliable with 180k. Havnt done anything but oil and filters in 30k
Here's some better knowledge the Ralliart and the Evo X are they EXACT same engines and both have AYC pumps but the Evo has an upgraded version of that AWC. The difference in the engine is literally the Tune the Turbo (RA has a single scroll Evo X has a Twin Scroll) and the intercooler is smaller on the RA. The Lancer Ralliart is a detuned Evo X.
It's funny. Around 20 years ago, when Mitsubishi first started selling the Lancer in the US, and the Evo was just another cool JDM car we couldn't get, they sold the Lancer with an appearance package called OZ Rally Edition. It had some dinky upgraded rims, FWD and a naturally aspirated 2.0 engine. Back then I chose my side, bought a Subaru and lost interest in Mitsubishi. I've heard of the Lancer Ralliart, but I've always assumed it was just another appearance package. Nice to know there's some substance to it.
I own a Ralliart. They are actually definitely more performance cars than they are regular economy cars in my opinion at least. Its basically a lancer GTS (which is basically a lancer with a slightly bigger engine, no turbo, stick shift, kinda lame) with slightly stiffer suspension, Evo engine, small turbo (TD04), Evo Exhaust (twin outlet), Evo interior and gauges, Evo Hood, smaller wing. I mean it really is kind of a Frankenstein of a car but they are fun. They are definitely on the expensive side to maintain. An SST fluid change costs about $700 dollars (the fluid is overpriced). If you treat it well like with any car it will treat you well. Mine so far has held up good.Oh by the way, these cars don't come with S-sport, that was flashed.
@@morphanok6932 this fluid still expensive? I’m in tn and recently found one with 92k miles for 9500 thinking of trading my 09 Audi for this 2012 ralliart lookin really clean and in my budget
@@Idealsleeperagent there are quite a few RUclipsrs that have the ralliart, theres a less expensive alternative to the fluid you need that a lot of them use. Its made by Castrol i think. Their care are still running great
great review, i know im late but still, you did good...especially about saying its not an Evo and thats its perfect for a daily that puts a smile on your face, i felt right at home and probably will buy one asap!
@@ITSMINECRAFTTIME32 it is. Ralliart got the same engine, same gearbox, evo 9 awd drivetrain with 3 lsds. Wrx have a different engine (weaker), different gearbox (weaker) and a normal awd without lsds.
exactly, it’s better to buy a ralliart for cheap and then modify it in my opinion, and you should worry about people hating on you. it’s your car, not theirs
So i saw a ralliart for sale for 7k with 112,000km on it and the cheapest evo x i could find was for 19k but it had 290,000km on it and was modded to hell and back just saying u can buy evo parts and bolt it straight on so at most you are spending 15k on the most for evo clone and also u can upgrade a lot of stuff meaning with the evo twin scroll turbo and the intercooler and better piping and bolt ons and a tune and ur looking at 350hp i know it will never be as good as a evo but a good evo x costs around 30k in my area so yeah its worth it i know someone who has over 550whp in his ralliart but i think thats a bit much for a daily
Its a dual cluth transmission Its not like a standard automatic with a torque converter and a slush box. This is engineered completely different. Sequentials have been used in rally cars forever its fitting
I'm actually looking for a black on black one or a blue one I need lancer ralliart in my life I did always want a evo but there very pricey and this one is the best thing to that.
I owned a 09 ralliart as well loved it but the transmission flailed luckily they warranted it after seeing the bill for 12 grand I sold it shortly after still love this car though
I have to service my transmission every year and also i have removed my fog lights to let the transmission cool better bc the transmission cooler is behind the fog lights but i have to reattach them in the winter bc of fog
Benis I think because he’s driving it on normal mode, you don’t hear anything. As soon as you put it in sport or ssport mode that’s when you start hearing everything. Almost like in the Honda accords with “Sport” mode.
This car is sick I was wanting a daily, and yet sporty. The ralliart definitely fits my needs even today.
Careful with this transmission in daily traffic

Great review, was looking into purchasing a sportback ralliart, and decided to pull the trigger!
How has it been?

the ralliart lancer to the evo is what the wrx is to the sti basically
Ralliart is way closer to the evo than wrx is to the sti.

Theres nothing wrong putting evo x parts in ralliart.

ahh you can only have so much fun in an automatic. As much as I love my GSR. I wish there was a 6 gear in my car.
I have one. its such a cool car.

By the way, is that rear bumper stock standard?
I have a 09 Ralliart. They’re quick but the sst is expensive to maintain especially if something fails.

Kind sucks not hearing any turbo with the automatic

When you're in it it sounds nice. Go test drive one.
You make the car seem boring.
Its a twin clutch autamated manuel not an automatique
