I was there in the stands for this race. I was 20 years old. The stadium exploded when Bob Kennedy took the lead with 2 laps to go! He blew his load 1 lap too early but he gave it his best shot & my sister & I (along with THOUSANDS!) were cheering like crazy!! What a performance!!

Niyongabo made a great decision. Unlikely to medal in the 1500m so he went up to the 5000m and because the pace was slow - he won!!!
