Just put a capo om the first fret and you'll spare yourself some finger stretching. This song has some variations throughout that are kinda hard to remember.
I find it funny how I overly complicate this by putting my ring on the fifth fret instead of alternating the index (same with the second formation, I just barre the entire first fret). It's easier for me idk.

The only problem with this tab is that on the orignal recording they are tuned 1/2 a step lower, i've went to see videos of them playing it live and Andy starts on the 5th fret not on the 4th

I've got cramp
I'm a 5'4 grown ass man with the smallest hands I've ever seen in any adult man here in Mexico city, and I am looking for a shorter scale guitar to play songs like this. I can handle 3rd to 7th string stretches found in avenged sevenfold songs in a fender scale guitar, but this song and some other ones by opeth are too much for my teeny hamster hands. Has anyone else thought of this before? If so how did it go?

Andy summers actually plays it in A, exactly the same but a fret up. This is only a mm or two less of a stretch but is actually easier. The original must have been downtuned or slowed down. Here they are doing it in A in 2008.
