QC3 is a communications protocol. The charger and device communicate over the data communication lines and agree on the voltage to use. There is QC2 and QC3 QC2 can switch to 9v and QC3 to 12 and even 19 or 24 volts. No communications and the power supply defaults to 5 volts.
I have the XTAR VC4. I have had it around 4 years. I use it everyday & I have to say that this thing is Rock Solid 100%👍. I thought it would be a good idea to buy the flagship Xtar Dragon VP 4 Plus.... wrong! That thing is a piece of junk! The electronics in it are good & it does everything is supposed to "if" it stays together. It is made out of a completely different type of plastic. With age, fractures and falls apart, loosing its structural integrity. That happened to mine only after one year of owning it. This happened while it sat on my night table unplugged ( most of the time) out of the sunlight. It just disintegrated. I went back to using the VC 4. It's been a good little charger. I hope this one doesn't disintegrate like the Dragon!
Good vid. Adapters I use alot there handy.
What a cool xtar bc8 nimh lion AAAAA
How does that adapter output 3 different voltages? Thank you.

Thanks Gary, I was wondering about that :)
Its likely that each chip is a single cell charger, if someone wanted to copy the device im sure there are many single cell charger chips available.
