It's only bad when it suits the narrative of those who's in the political group of that dumbass who made this monstrosity of a sequel. There are some reboots, that were sequels, all sorts of terrible games out there. And then there's games like this, at least the terrible games I'm talking about don't have a narrative (largely politically driven). The fool who directed this thing and those who think like him ALL are the type who will preach these morals and principles are happy to ditch them at the drop of a time, nothing genuine there, it's just a tool for manipulation

I get the message, but this is such an old tired trope.
So sick of stories from movies/shows/whatever, where our hero wades through dozens of faceless goons, killing them all, but when they get to the person who screwed up their lives, or betrayed them, or killed their wife, or kidnapped their daughter, or whatever, they suddenly spare them, showing revenge isn't the answer.
I'm sorry, there's 200 dead guys who had no problem with you -dead, but you spare the object of your vengeance? Been done to death, no one now days wants to see that, they want to see Dead Pool kill the bad guy, they want to see John Wick avenge his dog.
If you're going to spare the bad guy, you can't have the hero mass murdering their way to their target.

Exactly. There's only one enduring story that we love where the hero doesn't kill his enemy, and that's Batman, and that's because he NEVER kills. At least, when he's written properly he doesn't. That's why it works. The message that revenge isn't the answer is consistent, he tries to give them the version of justice that he personally believes in. Whether or not Arkham actually rehabilitates the criminals or not is beside the point, that's his moral compass. He was so traumatized by the death of his parents that he vowed no matter what the cost, never to take another life, and he never did. That works. What doesn't work is a fucking psychopath who kills countless people and then just lets their target go because they suddenly got a dose of the feels, lol. Imagine if in a Punisher movie, he just wimps out and doesn't kill his enemy. And I know he spared Billy in season 1 on Netflix, but that was to make him suffer even more, that was to make him re-live a nightmare every day, it wasn't out of pity.
It's just so out of place, this game. None of it's right.

RDR2 is HOW you send off a protagonist in a good way, no matter your choice, Arhur still got John out, he redeemed himself from the wrong past, a bad man by fate, but a good man is by choice, as the whole series name Red Dead "Redemption", bring the story to a whole, an end for the "Redemption" series in the Red Dead franchise . GoW told a story of a once lost man, had nothing but rage and vengeance, but through the journey to the highest mountain, he learned to be a father, a thing that he failed once before.
Graphic has a really big role in the product, but it isn't everything.

I'm a pretty depressed person but I barely felt anything playing this game. The whole plot was way too forced and cringy to feel any genuine emotion or sadness.
I like how throughout the progression of the game. Abby became like Joel traveling with a little kid and sworn to protect him but looses deep hatred for the person, Joel that kill her father. Ellie on the other hand became like Abby sworn for vengeance but in the very last moment, she realized killing Abby won’t bring back Joel and her friends. Run in full circle.
Abby got like dozens of cuts and was stabbed in the shoulder how in the world is she swinging like a boxer on the 2nd round ?

@Wesker JHG i play on pc but I kept my ps4 around JUST so I could play this game, but once I found out about the leaks my ps4 was sold by the end of the week. I refuse to play through a garbage story like this, it’s a spit in the fucking face to everyone who loved the first game. The original was and still is my favourite game of all time, but it’s legacy has been tarnished with this bullshit, and un-needed sequel that’s clearly just pandering to the snowflakes out there. I refuse to support Neil Cuckmann and the other bitch who runs Naughty Dog now, don’t even know her name. This game is a dumpster fire and I wish I could erase it from my memory completely.
You guys ever played games featuring scenarios with heavy impact on the story like this one, and then the game would leave the choice to the player? Those were good games.

If we had seen each day in Seattle from each woman's perspective (instead of going through ALL of them then going back and doing it again) maybe we would give a crap about killing some of Abby's friends. As it is, I get a huge "meh" every time they get character moments. At best.
The Salt Lake crew are props, the flashbacks are, by and large, filler and padding.
And yet people are comparing this to Citizen Kane.

The reason why Ellie didn't kill her is because she saw herself in Abby's shoes and didn't want to repeat that, if that makes any sense
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS BELOW
Cuckman and some staff are trying to imply all the negative reviews are bots or people who haven’t played the game. True for some, but not all. I’ve played the whole game and didn’t like it. But you don’t have to play the whole game to know you don’t like it. Anyway I’ll list my reasons for disliking it. ALL of which have nothing to do with gender, woke stuff. Just so those people can’t call me ist and phobe because I don’t like it, as that’s the only plausible reason for not liking it lol.
1. Repetitive gameplay - it’s just the same as the first, and just ties in with the next point.
2. The game drags on way too long - the gameplay is just fine, but the game is many hours too long and it feels like unnecessary padding, which really tests your patience.
3. Makes experienced survivalists act dumb - Joel and Tommy have vast experience, know all the dangers, and even know Joel could be wanted because of what he did in TLOU1. Yet they give their names, relation, where they live, all to complete strangers who are all armed and outnumber them, in a closed off space.
4. Joel is a beloved character and deserved better - Much like say Geralt, or Master Chief, or Lara Croft etc. They would deserve a good send off right? Yet the absolute butchering of Joel is a disservice of what he was to fans. He literally gets spat on by a Cuckman lookalike after being Happy Gilmore until he’s mush. If you treat any beloved character this way, it’s a huge FU to any fan.
5. They make you play as Joel’s killer for half or more of the game - Abby just isn’t likeable to me, her first moments are being saved by Joel, to then brutally annihilating him with a golf club in front of his like a daughter, Ellie. Then later you play as her and they try and make you feel for her, implying she’s empathetic and so on. Yet she goes on this huge journey to find Joel, with the game trying to tell you she’s empathetic. Yet when she reached Joel, he saved her, but she wasn’t understanding there. And then she does what she does to him in front of Ellie despite not emphasising with why Joel did what he did. Therefore invalidating how the game said she was empathetic, and why we should like her. Even if she was likeable, I don’t wanna play as the killer of a beloved character, and for half or more at that.
6. The plot is unoriginal and boring - Revenge plots have been so many times, and better. It’s not hard to realise violence leads to more violence. It’s you kill me, I kill you, the game. No more on Ellie’s immunity, zombies, or anything interesting.
7. The ending - Ellie kills lots of people to reach Abby, who has killed Joel, Jessie and some others, but let’s her live. She found Abby tied up, so she cuts her down and let’s her walk to a boat, simply to kill her then. Why not just do it when she was tied up? Ridiculous. Then there’s the flashback of Joel that makes her spare Abby. Which had no words or sage advice, simply an image of Joel playing a guitar. To me, I’d think that would make Ellie follow through with killing Abby, but no. Then she goes back to her home to find Dina gone and is alone. She lost Dina and the baby, Joel, her friends, her revenge, and her fingers.
8. What are zombies? - There’s barely any in the game. Clickers seem nerfed seeing as Abby can go fisticuffs with 3 at once. And human characters can whistle and make noise no problem.
9. Abby’s sex scene - it’s just in your face. And is praised and allowed, but anime girls in bikinis, and other less risqué scenes are criticised and censored.

@@whitewolf7454 I've some people finish and not like it at all, and others that just got to Joel's death scene and then after change in how they were playing before, like less lively and motivated, and some who just quit the game and got rid of it, honestly I haven't played either one of the games, mainly cause I don't have the time, money, or attention towards it, but from watching the full game walkthrough I'm real disappointed from something I was hearing and seeing be taken into high praise

Its the characters and how the Story was TOLD that made the game so interesting
Ellie became an animal. Joel would have went through with it if it was him protecting ellie, but ellie had nothing to lose. She lost everything, was given a second chance and walked out on that. She had nothing more to lose, but herself which is why she let Abby go. Joel gave up everything to give ellie a chance at life. Maybe in the end Ellie understood Joels sacrife and his crimes for her sake. Abby, emaciated, malnourished and half dead, looked ellie in the eye and saw the bigger picture. Abby got her second chance and was willing to take it.
These games to me are about moments like this where your humanity is judged and shows what some are willing to do to hang on to what they have left. There was no clean way to end a story like this one. We can only hope that "Old Man Ellie" can move forward from here.
This is my take:
She spared Abby because her last memory of Joel popped into her head. I feel like she didn’t want to tarnish it with more death. After he was murdered, she could only see his mutilated face and couldn’t remember anything else about him. Yet in that instant, that specific memory came to her.
“If the Lord somehow gave me a second chance, I would do it again.” That’s the second reason why she stopped. She realized that, had she been given a second chance, she would have done it differently.
Ultimately, that is the growth that she has by the end of the game. Now if she does anything, it needs to be something she would do again every time. Going after Abby, loosing her friends and relationship, getting Tommy and Dina shot and almost killed - that’s a mistake she’ll only make once.
Finally I see someone getting the meaning of the final scene and the reason she spared Abby.

Honestly, a lot of people wanted Abby dead because they refused to empathize with her. While she did kill Joel, Joel also killed her father and a lot of the Fireflies she knew. Ellie saving Abby was the end of that cycle of violence, and I absolutely loved that moment. Because it began with Joel and it ended with Ellie’s final good memory of him. And, truthfully, the cycle did not start because of Joel - it started with Sarah’s death. Overall, I don’t understand all the complaints about its story because, truthfully, it was well done.

Some stuff I noticed: Abby is built bigger than Ellie, so in the fight her natural striking power is much more than Ellie's, and it's shown through the combat. Ellie is smaller, quicker and bad the upper hand the entire time with the knife, up until Abby smacked it out of her hand. Thats when Abby started landing hits, and it was all striking power. It truly came down to endurance and hatred and they both had it in spades. Amazing job on this part
The evil person was crusified by thier hands. They would have no joint strength and would absolutely have dislocated shoulders. They wouldn't have been able to pick up They little kid and it was decided due to oppression points. This fight is absolute horse crap and should have ended in an easy victory by elli. I'm glad they lost millions on this game and it killed the franchise.

I don't honestly understand why so many people were mad that Ellie let Abby go. Sure, when Abby first kills Joel, everyone just wants her dead. But after playing as Abby, you realize that her father's death was just as hard on her as Joel's death was to Ellie. The entirety of both games filled with threads of revenge, and brutality. It was fitting for the game to end on a note of mercy. It's what Joel would have wanted.
Was anyone else confused by the sheer backwards direction the story and world building went?
Wasn’t there a military presence in the first game? What happened to them? Has the world degenerated into nothing but tribes and clans? What happened to the rest of the world? The first game (despite its focus on Joel and Ellie’s journey across America) was full of moments that showed that despite the world being a fungus filled shit-hole their was still some trace of humanity.
The first game also had amazing and heart felt moments, that made the violence and horror all the more impactful. Remember those Giraffes? I remember. It gave you a chance to breathe. The banter between Joel and Ellie was natural and somewhat silly, yet it made the characters develop in a very charming way.
It just felt like Misbehaving Puppy completely disregarded any other source of plot built around this harsh and dangerous world.

1. Abby can kill Joel easily while in Tlou part I, Joel very hard to kill. And yes, Abby is very dumb. She have opportunity to kill Ellie but dont take it. How do you even do that in the world of chaos, full of danger from zombies and strange people, also barbaric law have been a thing, you are not eliminate someone that have connection to the person that you killed!
2. Ellie also a stupid person. She doing massacre spree and murdering all people thay dont bring harm to her. But when she have a opportunity to kill Abby, she dont take it!!! So why we player, play as Ellie to kill unimportant npcs for not killing the main villain. yes i know it is a revenge and Ellie want to break that circle of violence. But this story is written so bad.
Just take example from another story of games that have main character die in the end and also have revenge-redemption as main theme:
1. LA Noire
We know that Phelp is a dick when he was a soldier and also when he is a cop by cheating from his wife. We as player understand the feeling of his companion in war how arrogant he was, japanese civilian that he killed, and his wife that he cheated. Definitely a DICK. In the end Phelp die by water. The water is indirectly how Phelp get his redemption. So we as player have the conclusion how the other people that dont like Phelp have his revenge served. Not like how Abby kill Joel because in TLOU part I, Abby & his father was random characters. We as player dont know them. Different thing we feel with Otto, Japanese civilians, & Phelp's wife in LA Noire.
2. RDR 1
John Marston dead is one of f*ing great plot twist in the game medium. We as player think that John have his redemption after we play few mission in the end with his family. Little bit of slice of life. We think that John will have a Happily ever after. But no, he die tragically and we feel it! No cheap dead no easy killing. Because we play as John try to survive with fighting the cop troops. The real redemption of John get is dead. So we as player hate that cops boss (i forgot his name) and want to kill him. And the game do brilliant job. They let us to play as Jack (John's son) to get his revenge and kill that cops boss. And we did it! Not like how Ellie do what she do with Abby. Dumb.
3. RDR 2
Same with RDR 1. They let player to kill Micah.
This is one of the best analyses to the whatever the fuck this was.

You guys were so much focused on killing Abby that didn't realize what the game wanted to show. TLOU 2 show us that everybody is right (or wrong) by their point of view. Revenge is not everything and the truth Ellie's fight was against herself and her guilt for not forgiving Joel before he dead. In the end, Ellie just realized that kill Abby would not bring Joel back and the most important part: she forgave herself.

A lot of people are comparing Abby to any stereotypical villain and I feel like that's a huge mistake. It's like you didn't even play the other half of the game that explained why her intentions in killing Joel were justified, as well as her own story arch of loss and revenge that showed Ellie as the bad guy. No you guys just say "Abby kill Joel. Me like Joel. Abby bad."

I understand people are upset by this ending and that's their opinion of course, each to their own. I didn't mind this ending. Earlier in the theatre fight Abby decided to spare Ellie to try and end this cycle of revenge, Ellie in this moment gains her humanity but at a cost. She gave up her relationship with Dina and family life as well as loosing two of her fingers making her unable to play the guitar which yes is very sad and loosing the chance to make it up with Joel before he died. This to me shows that Ellie has grown as a character. Neither Ellie or Abby are necessarily good or bad people, they've done bad things to survive and suffered great loss as consequence along the way. Again I get why people wanted to see Abby killed because we all love Joel so much even though he isn't a saint and made some bad and selfish choices in the first game, and Ellie killed so many people to get to Abby. I think this mirrors the moment where Abby spares Ellie in the theatre earlier. I think both protagonists out of all this terror, murder and bloodshed still each have one thing in common, their humanity. Abby arguably could be slightly better off having Lev, but take it how you will. Not trying to say the game's story was perfect, it wasn't but that's my perception of the ending. I know a lot of people will disagree and if you hate the ending I am not trying to to change anyone's opinions here but I didn't think the ending was all that bad.
