- Reaction To Uuno Turhapuro - Pelaa Biljardia (Finnish Comedy)
This is my reaction to Uuno Turhapuro - Pelaa Biljardia
In this video I react to Finnish comedy movie series Uuno Turhapuro and specifically the Uuno Turhapuro armeijan leivissä (1984). In this video he plays billiards/snooker.
Original Video - • Uuno pelaa biljardia
The actor of Uuno, Vesa-Matti Loiri, was very skilled at many things.
Had a great music career as well.
Billiards was an important sport for Mr. Loiri. In the 90s, he even served as the head of the Finnish Billiards Association for a few years.
Vesa-Matti Loiri, who played Uuno, was a multi-talent. He could sing, act both comical and serious roles, play flute...
Goalkeeper, boxer...
Sometimes I forget how extremely talented Vesku (Vesa-Matti Loiri) was in so many things. Absolute national treasure.
He was good at biljard, water polo, football and boxing
I met the actor in a bar once, where he was showing off his trick shot skills for the entertainment. So yeah, he can play. No special effects or stuntmen needed.
Vesku was pool shark, pretty good golfer, stuntman, acrobat, boxer, national level football player, water polo player and absolute player with ladies.
Vesa-Matti Loiri: 3 Finnish championships in water polo. He saved HJK.'s football as a goalkeeper for the team's continuation in the Finnish Cup. He was 14th in billiards at the Finnish championships (one hundred competitors)
And he was very talented boxer also
He won Finnish championship gold in handball, too!
he also did all that uuno makeup himself
When i was about 12 years old, i was traveling around Finland with my family on summer holiday in our caravan. We made a pit stop at this one diner / gas station and who was sitting at the coffee table - none other that Vesa-Matti Loiri himself, my childhood hero and idol! Of course i totally lost my sh*t, luckilly there was also a pooltable and i couldn't resist to ask him to play one game with me. He was nice and friendly enough to consent and totally annihilated me, the game lasted less than 5 minutes :D It was one of the best moments of my life!
Wow.... As a finn and a pool player I must say that is awesome memory to have!
Damn
Uuno Turhapuro is probably easiest Finnish movie series to remember for every Finn because they show these movies at least once a year, sometimes even twice.
Uuno Turhapuro armeijassa = Uuno Turhapuro in the military. Despite being in bootcamp, he was allowed in the officers' mess and was treated like someone of note was because his father in law was the defense minister. Uuno takes full advantage of that, of course, which is what much of the comedy in this film is based on.
Vesa-Matti Loiri was a multi-talent - read what he knew in the field of sports The artist Vesa-Matti Loiri, who passed away this week and was loved by the whole nation, was a true all-rounder in the field of art. The whole becomes even more breathtaking when one examines Loir's achievements in the field of sports. It's downright unbelievable what all Vesku knew, and in which all sports he was also successful. Loir could have become a top athlete, but the man made his career choice clear in time, and chose theater. There simply wasn't enough time for everything, even though a man usually made it to every place. However, Vesku played in several sports at the major league level at some point in his career. After leaving Helsinki Kaupunginteatteri, Loiri was a third keeper at HJK, and as a result of injuries to other goalkeepers, he got on the field in the soccer championship series in 1972. It goes without saying that the general public was interested in Vesku's impressive playing style - after all, the man had even won the Finnish championship a few years earlier. In water polo, goalkeeper Loiri even won three WC golds, and in handball there was also one championship in the ranks of SIF, even though the three-keeper couldn't fit in the playing lineup. Loir, who is incredible in his physique and acrobatic qualities, is perfectly suited to the job of a goalkeeper, regardless of the sport. He also had time to improve in hockey, but in that the man settled for the third league level. Loiri showed special talent in boxing. Vesku went into the matches practically cold, and still won. Loir's mobility was a tough word in boxing, and psychologically the man was tough. However, Loiri did not delve deeper into the sport. Billiards was an important sport for Loir - he was even the chairman of the Finnish Billiards Association for a few years in the 1990s. Loiri, who played Kaisa, finished in the 14th place at the best in the championships. On the trotting side, Loiri owned horses and was a familiar sight at the Vermo race track. Especially in later times, Loiri was a very enthusiastic bench athlete. At one time, Loiri said in an interview that he would still like to see Finland play in a prestigious soccer tournament in his lifetime - and this came true both on the women's side and eventually also on the men's side. Vesa-Matti Loiri acted as Uuno Turhapuro

You are so good what you do,it's so good to see that somebody who is not from Finland undestand finnish people.
He really has been one of the lead characters in Finnish entertainment of my whole life. Loved his comedy film roles especially in Spede´s films and tv-shows 1960-80´s. Vesa-Matti´s interpreting some of our national treasured composers/poets are great - singing and recording their stuff.
Actually the actor Vesa-Matti Loiri was the chairman of the Finnish Biljard Accositation he also the champ for many years. May he rest in peace
Vesa-Matti Loiri who played Uuno Turhapuro was really good biljard player and many More things. He was multitalent.
Unno (Vesa-Matti Loiri or Vesku for a short) had great interest to many hobbies and basically mastered those to his own limits. Spede Pasanen brought his skills out really well in Uuno Turhapuro movies. If I remember Spede Pasanen was the forseer of cinema in those times. He really knew how to bring that humor out of everyday life.
Uuno Turhapuro haistelee lasin läpi / Uuno Turhapuro sniffing through glass is also a very good one. I hope you'll have time to watch it as well!
Yeah, that was so hilarious.
Do Naurava Kulkuri next time you want to watch something with Vesa-Matti. It's a bit different but absolutely hilarious.
Vesku, actor of Uuno was like champion of billiiards in Finland like decade etc...
Direct translation from Vesku's wikipedia page - Vesa-Matti Loiri was and still is known as Vesku or just Loiri among Finnish.
"Loiri is also a talented billiards player, and he showcases his skills in the 1984 film "Uuno Turhapuro armeijan leivissä." Seriously, he only played kaisa, which was the only competitive form of billiards in Finland at the time. He achieved his best result in the Finnish Championship standings with 14th place. Among other roles, Loiri served as the chairman of the Finnish Billiards Federation in 1993 and from 1994 to 1999, and he received a silver merit badge from the federation in 1989."
btw, the whole trio Spede, Loiri and Salminen were all quite talented in many things. For example, Spede was also a crazy inventor type with a lot of inventions, most of which were just fun, cool and clever rather than practical, and Salminen was a Finnish championship contender in pellehypyt (Clown jumping into a pool)
His most known invention was a machine used by snowboarders to gain speed fast to launch themselves in jump competitions. It was originally created for Ski jumpers to help them to gain speeds that otherwise would not been possible without a real ski jump tower.
The song in the beginning was popular during war, the lyrics list lots of wartime cliches, jargon and inside jokes which are difficult to understand unless you have been in the front personally.
He was a goor pool player irl. I think he used his skills on a different role as well, Nasse-Setä. It was a parody of a kids show
the actor vesa-matti loiri was master in biljard. that's why they make the biljard scene
The actor Vesa-Matti Lauri was actual really good in snooker.
Yeah, it would be hard to beat this if one'd have to rank the most famous and popular comedy movie in Finland of all time. Because most men have been to the army, and these days many of the women too, this movie is very relatable to almost everyone in Finland one way or the other
Kummeli's Kultakuume (Goldrush) might be pretty high as well, or even at 2nd place on such a list, but after the first place, it isn't all that clear what the top 5 would realistically look like
You should watch these:
* Mankeli: Suomalainen mies
* Nasse-setä pulloillasoitto
* Pulkkinen: Piispa
You got very great classic here. Me and one of my best friend learn those tricks from this movie when worked our first jobs in youth center.
We Finns have similar kind of taste of humour like you in Britain.. that´s why we love your humour too..
he is actual master, one best on finland
this fairytale about how good vesku was in billiards prolly never die , he never were "master" , good player thou.
uuno was irl very good biljard player
Nasse-setä biljardi much better. Same actor where playing himself and Nasse-setä. There is much better trick shots 😄
The song in the start was eldanka järven jää.
Originally german song "Ali Baba", which can be heard in Loiri's first movie "Pojat."
Eldankajärven jää*
Eldakanjärven jää
Ice of Lake Eldanka, ..
Uuno is kinda like the Homer Simpson of Finland :D
A classic scene from a Finnish all time favorite comedy. This one was the most popular of the Uuno films back in the day. :)
The army setting of the film is actually quite relatable to many Finns because of the practice of conscription, still in effect today. A lot of the comedy stems from the (of course exaggerated) idiosyncrasies and peculiarities of conscript and army life in the barracks.
The trick shots were done by the actor himself, Vesa-Matti Loiri (or Vesku as he was called) was really good at billiards.
2:49 could have easily been "noniin.." from the Ismo scetch. Also 3:55: "noniiin, my turn."
Uuno Torhapuro 💕💜💞
Turhapuro
Vesa-Matti "Vesku" Loiri was the "character" (the actor behind Turhapuro) and Uuno was the personification of his inner self. Vesku absolutely obliterated that pool table 😏
He song, plyed flute....
You should watch Kummeli Speedy ja Saku and Kummeli Puukon veljekset
Itekki tykkään biliksestä, ja uuno turhapurosta.🗿🇫🇮💪🦁🐻
He is a FINNISH champion in biljard
He was a good player, but some of the shots needed dozens of takes.
Urheiludokumentti (Sports Documentary) by Rami Airola would make a good reaction video.
If you can find "Make välihuutajana" clip from "Pikku-pojat" movie with English subtitles, highly recommended. Whole movie is great.
Vesa Matti Loiri was the leader of the Finnish billiard asosiation - a short time.
Kurrkurr
This Uno -> Vesa-Matti Loiri sings with Kari Tapion ruclips.net/video/U9V44mHmy-U/видео.html

Watched this in the movies with my dad.
Yep, Totally real war song: Eldankajärven jää
P. S. He was a great pool layer in real life.
I watched this in the movies with my granddad! Only film he took me to just the two of us.
Uuno Turhapuro is also quite legendary golf player 😃 if you can find some clips
uuno or Vesa Matti Loiri was very very talented in pool
Ketonen & Myllyrinne! 👌

Uuno Turhapuro armeijan leivissä
Tupakanmittainen tauko - A cigarette-length break
I think you should react to "Urheiludokumentti - The Sports Documentary" from the channel "Airola", especially if you are into retro games :)
Check playing golf in Uuno Epsanjassa = Uuno in Spain. 😄
😂😂😂
Try "Naisen logiikka" by Spede Pasanen
Wasn't Loiri a pool champion of a sort?
He was the 14th best billiard player in Finland at one point and leader of the Finnish Billiard association for a while
Do Vääpeli Körmy.😊😊
No English text here, but Vesku Loiri plays here against one of his characters Uncle Nasse.

You have reacted to the song in the beginning already: ruclips.net/video/1Lvupo0MWU4/видео.html
I never liked Uuno Turhapuro movies. Nether do I like Kummeli stuff.
Ok.
Billiard balls can be cheated with magnets.
That is why they have such thick table.
Loiri was really good at billiards and Kaisa (billiards).
As a comedian, Loiri wasn't really funny at all, his dramatic roles were good. As an adult, you can't really watch Turhapuro
Yes you can! Only dull people can’t enjoy a funny movie with clever humor.
@@mantailuaa Nah, humor is very subjective thing.
This guy doesn't belong to the majority.
@@mantailuaaUunoissa ei tosin ollut hyvää huumoria..
