After driving an M240i at the weekend, I've actually decided to order one of those instead of the S3 - it's more fun to drive in my opinion, the rear end kick out is insanely addictive :D

brother you know what you MUST get for your s3..... a DTUK Pedal box it removes the lag completley and has transformed my s3 stronic i also think it would beat the m235i with that installed
i also have installed a DTUK Tuning Box which has increased the power to approx 380- 390bhp and will guarnatee beat the m235i
both boxes cost me £300 on ebay or you can buy new for £475 just make sure its was tuned for the s3 facelift and transmission

hi mate if you want any work done on alloys go to AWR UK in Coventry, they are excellent, they refurbished 2 19" diamond cut finished alloys for my BMW 4 series. the work was done in 2 days and they even gave me some loan wheels so I wasn't off the road. perfect finish.

That bmw is a nice car, I just do not understand why they would pump artificial noise through the speakers I belive it started with the m5 as they made the engine smaller to sit with the Uks emission law crap. Companies should have exhaust upgrades to make their cars more tone full. Syed has picked a nice spec, lucky he found the spec as he bought it used, I don't usually see m235i's on the road, but when I do the colours and the spec is a little more reserved and doesn't do the car any justice. I guess people just want the fun and want to be understated at the same I suppose. Good he bought it used and got the 1st year depreciation out the way because I know with bmw's they are killers. The videos are getting much better and the best part about this is because you know what your viewers want and we want more of this content. Most youtubers nowadays gets lost at times and video some shit we don't care about luckily you are there to fill that gap (thumbs up emoji)
Yeah the artificial noise hype is getting annoying but i guess most performance cars have it nowadays! Luckily with this it does have a great exhaust sound so when you drop the windows it sounds the business (As the fly bys show). Yeah Syed spent a while finding his car as he wanted one exactly like this, was worth the wait as its mint. And thank you bro, just continuing to push myself with each video and cater to what people actually would like to watch as you say. Loving the continued support!
TR Hamza not sure how the m235i sits financially. My mate bought a golf R, I told him not to for many reasons such as the new one will be coming out soon and I don't think they will hold their value as good. Quick search on the used market turns out that they dropped around 10 k in value! Ouch! I could tell that hit him right in the ball sack.
Hi mate. The BMW 140/240s are lovely cars. I did consider one but it was just little too big for the garage. I do think the Audi has the edge on the interiors though and is better vocally, though the beepers do have a lovely noise. Nice vid. Best wishes

e2k Haha yes they do love to drink! GTD is good balance of power/economy so you're good
Having a petrol 300+ hp car is never going to be cheap to run, it all depends on how long your commute is and do you need to make regular long trips. And 40 mpg for the audi and 34.7 for the BMW isn't that bad considering the performance on tap.
Try running a v10 m5 at 19mpg Claimed or a e92 m3 that is something like 22mpg.
You kids must have good jobs and work very hard to buy cars like these ! Congratulations guys!

Thank you mate appreciate it! And yes I have been looking into options for a while regarding stabilisation. Current lens doesn't have optical image stabilisation which is a pain. It bugs me too.

Karan Singh Kaila Yeah driven the FK2 quite extensively, very planted and awesome to drive but the M235i is more of an all rounder 👍🏼

Mate quality content as always. Question. S3 or m235i or like a A 250
I considered a M240i but in the end they are similar sort of money, so I ordered an S3. They have a much better quality interior and a much better looking interior. That on top of the more practicality and AWD. I decided that's worth the sacrifice of a six cylinder, the four pot makes a decent noise anyway.
Yeah I guess everyone has their own tastes. I chose the S3 like you as I wanted a hatch, the 2 series is still an amazing car though if you want a compact 6 cylinder coupe.
TR Hamza Did you consider the 140i? I think it's the same platform as the 235i/240i but in hatchback form. They sound nuts too! Great job on the vids bro 🏅
Thank you bro! Yeah was pretty much set on getting the M140i, like 90%. In the end it was an Impulse decision to go with the S3. Been a big fan of the Mx35i/40i platform.
I think you will quickly forget any interior advantage the Audi will have when you drive the BMW rwd.

Good content. keep it up. m235i pumps around 325bhp.....does it really make sense having a big 3ltr 6cyl turbo when you can get 98% of that power from a 2.0 4 pot turbo as per your S3 or FK2. I guess it has more torque....looking forward to your driving review...
Thank you mate, will be giving my thoughts on the driving dynamics very soon! I think BHP figures only tell part of the story, a 6 cylinder engine will always feel less stressed than a heavily breathed on 4 banger. This feels silky smooth and is almost effortless as BMW 6 cylinders are some of the best in the business. A unique prospect that in 2017 you can buy a 3.0 engine in a hatch/coupe!

love these reviews, down to earth guy giving a real life review on a real road, too many reviews try to give too much detail that the average driver wouldn't understand anyway, I'm not buying my car for a track I just want to enjoy it on a nice day, found this and the s3 review very helpful as I'm stuck between the 2 mentioned and I love the look of the civic type r, decisions decisions. thanks dude

Hey, different sort of sounds. S3 has a more aggressive gear change noise and is more rough sounding (in a good way). However, the engine sound on the BMW is far superior.

what price differences does the M235i have to the M2?? and is it completely different kettle of fish? like, is the M235i a baby version of an M2?
Stuey M Around 15k difference I believe. I need to check out an M2 to give an accurate answer but from what most say there's a fair few differences 👍🏼

The sound of the engine from the cabin is artificial in the M2, its played through the speakers.
1. Its not an M2.
2. We had the windows down so we are talking about exhaust sound. Well aware of the speakers enhancing the interior engine sound.

@Shahid, the S3 also generates some fake noise inside the cabin using a VW Soundaktor. 7R and GTi 7 have the same unit.
