Truly such a beautiful bracket... it breaks my heart that it doesn't allow full screen articulation for canon cameras. :(

I was going to buy one a couple of minutes ago until I went to there website and noticed that you can't use it on the nikon D850 if you want to access the mic...

The biggest advantage of these brackets is that they allow you to grab your camera by the lens and wave it around 😁

Hello, I have a canon 1DX mark II, a canon 5D Mark IV and a Manfrotto Mefoto tripod. I also have a Holdfast moneymaker strap along with a single black rapid strap. My question is: Will Ellie work with my gear?

    • @JonSparkman

As far as I’m aware, most manfrotto tripods don’t use the Arca Swiss type plate. This would then not be natively comparable with your tripod. I use a Moneymaker strap too - there isn’t really a point to anchor on to on the base of the Ellie.

John! Fantastic review. You've got me convinced. One question, did you happen to have a hasselblad 500 handy? I was hoping to use the ellie l bracket as a grip!

Hi! I no longer have a Hassy sadly. One day I wish to get one again!

hello, how do you adjust the extender bars to ensure that the lens remains on the same plane when switching between portrait and landscape? is there actually an accurate way to do it, or do you just have to eye-ball it? the allen key parts get a bit finicky and can easily go out of position while i'm tightening it, thus losing my eye-balled measurements

Very good question! So o don’t adjust mine to meet the centre of the sensor, I just have it as close as possible to provide protection, and move it out just a little bit to allow cables to go in for video.

could i mount a smallrig left wooden grip on that bracket? im wondering if that is possible

I reckon so, if you had an Arca Swiss adapter mounted to it, or attached a nato rail somehow.

When you were describing "putting something on here" why were we looking at a picture of you out in the fog? if you describe something, you do know we need to see it? That's really bad planning/editing. Also, you glossed over the "short" bit, when someone doesn't know what it refers to (short width, short height, short length, short depth) explaining it by saying you have a short camera explains nothing.
