Hey Blezz I dunno if I'm a bit slow but what you showed at 5:09 really flew over my head. I'm still in the learning phase you think you could lemme know how I'm say?
In the drum sampler - To copy one slice hold down the key you want to copy, press Lift, let go, hold down the destination key and press Drop. Voilans you have a copy of the parameters.
Op-1 aka the ‘wow I didn’t think of that’ machine! I had this nice trick myself where I slice up the sample and use the finger sequencer. Then you can play it in any key and get a sort of ‘keep the tempo, change the pitch’ style of utility. So now I know you kinda do both! The finger sequencer is also a great workaround for the lack of monophony on the drumsampler, when you need the chops to cut eachother off exactly and on the sequencers grid.
Beat was talkin to my soul sheesh 🔥😳😤 plus you taught me a bee time stretch and chop trick just when i was already looking at my Op-1 as the greatest shit since sliced bread. now this thing is literally killing everything. ima load a beat video also soon 🔜 😎💪🏽🙏🏼 the original tempo and pitch wagons before you switched it to -3 but either way is 🔥🔥👀😤
Great tutorial about the insides of this little glitchy beast. Thanks! One thing I recognized: You are saying you drop it into the sampler. From what I am seeing you are using the drum (!) sampler, not the synth one. Otherwise there would be no option for looping.
Yoo I like that comparison hahah, better than yung Bieber :D It's print on demand so it shouldn't be a problem to ship out there, they probably have a warehouse in the country. If you're wondering about shipping price drop it in the cart and check it!
Or u can use an mc101/707 & use a programmed scatter, both of which are at least half the price of an OP1. Or if you're on a daw, you can use the $11 breaktweaker or stutter edit & record those into loops either live or prearranged & import into you're sampler ... Or if you're feeling oldskool, grab a Yamaha Ax000 or RS series unit & use the loop remix.. Which is actually even better for this lofi fad by letting you adjust sample rate on the fly... Oh & Even older school, grab a copy of ReCycle if you like these choppers but honestly, breaktweaker & stutter edit or the mc101 (at a quarter of the price of this) gives you MUCH MORE functionality ...
@@BlezzBeats LOL of course you can..:D The OP has a mic yeah... just do some tight beatboxing, grab a saucepan, some cutlery, maybe a cushion for some fat bass... LOLLLLL
Yeah, but can all that last on a 10 hour battery and go with you anywhere? The OP-1 isn't meant to be overly functional, its meant to work uniquely so that you don't get stuck in a rut of using the same production techniques and be small enough that you can scratch down music spontaneously. You may not like it, but to just say that all the equipment you listed would provide the same things is silly.
Nice video. As a Dilla fan I always think about what could have been if he had lived a little longer and got his hands on an OP-1. I think he would have loved it what do you think?
Great video! Stuff I had no clue was possible. Second… Is that red knob light blue to you? Might be missing a red receptor, my man. There’s some websites that can help you check if so.
@@BlezzBeats just looking out. Had a friend in college programming HTML colors by values to make a red/green alternating “Merry Christmas” and he noticed when he made the green 0 and the red max, it still looked like green. Sure enough he took a color blindness test and saw he was missing his red receptors. He was able to get those corrective glasses and it changed his life. It’s hard to spot, but when it’s treated it changes lives. Looking out for you just in case, my man. Hope you have happy holidays!
Oh man sorry you missed out on that, when you're in any synth or the drum sampler hold down the current preset you want to save to (1-8) wait for the spinning thing to do its spin thing and you're set.
Hi all ! I recently bought my op-1… i do notice that the overall output volume is quite low … is that normal ? Also th radio function gives a lot of static and nearly no radio stations… the extra antenna does not make that much difference. Is this normal ? Any experiences or comments ? Thanks, Philippe

The rest of the vid is amazing btw even for a beginner like me. Thanks for these vids.

Thank you man! I have a few more coming up that are much more beginner oriented but with useful tips you dont see in every video
@@BlezzBeats blezz up
@@BlezzBeats doesn't this just copy the slice so you have a duplicate slice?

That was blisteringly fast. You were on fire and I got lost in the thick smoke! Fabulous. I’m going to have to watch it again many times over. Cheers.
Haha, sorry about that!
I like the tip about nudging the sequencer pattern a bit to fit into the groove! Great video all around! thank you.

friend in which daw do you pass your op1 files for mixing? and what equipment do you use? Do you use any analog hardware, summing in the box, etc?
Dont really bother with mixing it I just record to a stereo track in Ableton Live, maybe a limiter and a eq sometimes
