    I'm in love with my Unite. I always have my phone on me for safety so I don't miss the gps. I also love the sleep data. Eye opening to say the least. And since it's so light I have no problem sleeping with it. I have a tendency to not like to have watches on my wrist and just use my H10 strap to save the data then sync later but this one is quite comfortable.

    This watch seems perfect for me! I'm a serious bodybuilder and ex-powerlifter that cares a lot about my strength training and overall health, but have no need for the fancy stryd/pod compatibility, music, onboard gps, and outdoor features that many have. What I really want is to connect a chest strap for more accurate strength tracking, the recovery tracking, sleep, basic tracking for treadmill/indoor track/stairmill, and connected gps. I'm really hoping this can meet those needs and am really looking forward to your full review!

    How accurate is the heart rate measurement? This is the main reason for me to buy a smart watch. Thanks!

    • @spongesurf
      @spongesurf 3 года назад +1

      Polars are the most accurate heart rate monitors being they were among the pioneers of the tech! The most accurate is the chest strap but the wrist sensors are great for smooth movement activities like walking or yoga.

    Having a hard time to choose which to buy. The garmin fr245 or the polar unite. This would be
    my first fitness smart watch. Can you advise which is the one suitable for me? I cycle daily prob for an hour or more and always track my ride (would be nice to look at some data). I am not a hardcore guy. I dont run, mainly road cycling during night time, mtb trail riding once a month day time and definitely don’t listen to music during exercising and always carries my phone with me. I am looking for a good fitness watch with reliable/ accurate data, mainly the hr monitoring, activity tracking, gps, sleep quality, etc. I don’t mind spending the extra bucks to invest on the garmin fr245 if it’s is a better choice. Would love to hear your opinion. Many thanks.

  • @yamdrew
    @yamdrew 3 года назад

    Would you say this would be a good fit for my needs: I am primarily a cyclist, I use a Wahoo Bolt to track my rides and gather my heart rate / power data. But I'm looking for a device really just to continuously monitor my heart rate, track my sleep, and just for general fitness monitoring and activities such as walks, weight training, and yoga? Polar seems to be one of the better options for sleep tracking if I understand correctly.
    edit: did a full in-depth review ever get uploaded? I didn't see one.

    Hello! Thank you for the great review and all the information, my only question is when you’re on a run can you have the watch sync up with the GPS on your phone and listen to music using Bluetooth headphones at the same time or does it mess with the phone watch connection?
    Thank you!

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  3 года назад +2

      That will more depend on your phone’s Bluetooth and not necessarily the watch, but I’ve never encountered this issue so you should be good to go 👍

    Hi Des. Stumbled over this channel while searching RUclips. Subscribed. Like you content. So as a fitness tracker how this this watch compare to a samsung active 2?

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  3 года назад +2

      For fitness this watch will provide more feedback but it doesn't have built-in GPS. That said, I am not impressed with Samsung watches as fitness devices. I'd consider a Garmin Venu SQ or Forerunner 45. Thanks!

    Looks interesting Des. Does it have the workout/weekly training effect metrics? If so, this would be the cheapest way to get such metrics I would imagine. Also, the Vantage screen looks kind of dull to me. Is this screen a bit brighter? Can it pair to Bluetooth chest/arm straps? Thanks!

    • @DesFit

    Interesting. I think these newer, entry-level, cheaper models don't compare well to some older models that are nearing end-of-life. For example: I bought a Garmin Vivoactive 3 (which was a $300 watch a couple of years ago) for $199 Canadian (about $150 US) in Best Buy a couple of months ago. I'd say its significantly better than the Polar Unite.

    New to your channel as I was looking for Charge 4 reviews. Question: for a $150 range watch/tracker would this be a better buy than the Charge 4? Would there be a better recommendation? I'm coming from a Fossil Q Explorist HR. Maybe what's a top 3?

    What watch should I get for mountain biking

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  4 года назад +1

      Something durable like the Garmin Instinct, Polar Grit X, or Garmin Fenix series. All wrist based HR sensors will not be able to track accurately for MTB since there is a lot of movement and wrist flexion so I’d recommend an external HR strap if you want accurate HR data.
