They Polysix has one of the most unique sounds. It's kind of dark and brooding yet it has a edginess to it. Sometimes it reminds me of the Jupiter 4.

The Rolands are gorgeous but the PolySix just hits me with that same “immediacy” that I felt when I first heard the Mono/Poly. It’s undeniable!

Fun comparison, enjoyed it. I have to wonder why the Juno 60 hasn't been re-issued, they sell for well over 3k despite having a single oscillator. People obviously want a 5 octave analog poly with easy access to parameters.

Roland should just have a vintage line with all their classic products in production forever. TRs, 303, Junos, Jupiters, SHs..

For Roland remake vintage analog synths is a waste of money because there are so many digital emulations of these synths and 3rd parts companies like Behringer are making analog clones at affordable prices

That the Poly-Six has vco's is one thing but more importantly who's.
The Poly-Six has SSM chips for the VCO, VCF and VCA. So each voice is in effect a simplified Rev1 Prophet 5. For me that is where a sound comparison would be more interesting.
The Poly-Six effects section is far more versatile than the Juno's simple two speed chorus. The options are Flanger, Chorus and Ensemble with a well thought out single control. Eg on the chorus the depth increases as the speed slows.
I admit a long time since had a play on either but still own m a Mono/Poly so pretty familiar with the sound of the Six as same chips. Also no memory meant no battery issues.

The Jupiter 8 is a lot harder to come by, this is what keeps their price so much higher than the rest.

JP-8=dark/monster sounds JUNO-60=static and textured sounds Polysix=same thing as the Juno, but with more analog feel and "imperfect" sound

great comparison the Jupiter is just so ultra rare and beautiful sounding the juno60 not so rare beautiful sounding with very iconic sounds used and abuse the polysix beautiful sounding but with serious tuning and physical problems. Also the battery issue makes it a gamble that few want to bet on
