After seeing his review I have come to the conclusion that Indians are so far aways from learning about classic movie. If critics do not know what movie was about then one can understand the movie knowledge of moviegoers.
Movie was super good. You need some intelligence to understand such movies. Audiences like you need to watch Houseful and Dabangg series only. Laal Kaptaan is not your cup of tea. The only thing the movie is lagging behind is promotion that is why people are unaware of it's release date. Saif has done fantastic job.
I completely agree with you. Unfortunately mainstream Indian audience like this guy will not understand the magic of this movie. People like mindless entertainment. This movie feels a lot like western dramas such as There Will Be Blood, Power of Dog, Hostiles. The director did a phenomenal job weaving the western theme ideas and giving it an Indian context tied with history where it is set in arid regions of Uttar Pradesh/Rajasthan. Also it was cool to learn about a real warrior clan that existed like the naga gosain sadhus in the late 17th to 18th century.

Only saif's fans are making it to the theaters. Why don't marketing do publicity with Posters in the middle of the City centers with pamphlets? Just the Poster should prompt the people to go watch it. They should try this in a few city centers. Masses wouldn't like such a movie, as they like to live in an imaginary world for those 3 hours.
