  • It's a large and very detailed G-Scale train layout in the Garden. Every year the layout grows just a little. There are new addition and many of the details and Cameos are arranged differently every year. Also a different set of trains are making an appearance. Watch for the little Jeep racing by.

    Amazing layout. I've watched this video a few times. I love it. I am just beginning to build a garden layout that I hope is half as nice as this one.

    What an amazing garden railroad!!! The best I've seen! I can appreciate the painstaking work that goes into this, you must have a small army doing the upkeep and maintenance. I just posted an update on my backyard railroad (CRGR Summer 2019) even after 7 years of work still no where close to what you've achieved- Great work and thanks for sharing !

      Thank you for your comments.
      I had a look at your layout. It looks very promising. I particularly like how you use the natural slope and the lay of the land. A lot of work has gone into it already. Keep working on it. I like to see it when it s finished.

      @@Landsend-Railroad these railroads are never really "finished" - aren't they ? :-)

    • @Landsend-Railroad
      @Landsend-Railroad  4 года назад +2

      @@Statek63 TRUE! That not only includes changes and improvement I may want to make, but also modifications that mother Natur, with its weather and wildlife, is constantly performing. Not all of which I am in agreement with.

    Watching it time and again, making me feel like a miniaturised myself and riding the small world of trains journeys

      You caught the idea of what I am trying to portrait a small world where there is peace and tranquility. If only we can submerse ourselves and feel small. Thanks for your comments.

    I love watching the Landsend videos. Your imagination and attention to detail are second to none. How do you find the time to do it? And where do you find the room to stand while tending the plants to perfection!? It's wonderful.

      Thanks for the positive comments. You may have noticed there are roads all over the model landscape. They are mostly for my benefit, so I can get to the hard-to-reach locations. Also the track is very sturdy. With a solid base under it, I can step on it. It is still awkward, but with a bit of gymnastics I manage.

      Having planned, build and maintained this layout for many years as an individual,
      it is in deed an honor to be an inspiration to a Garden Railway Society.
      If you are interested to see more of my layout, have a look at my Channel: Trains and More
      I thank you for the words of encouragement.
      You are located in Columbus, Ohio, I take it?
      I would love to see what you are doing.

    Another great video. That unfortunate man in the car accident by the side of the road. Each year he gets hurt. He never seems to learn his lesson to not come out of your workshop because he will eventually, and always, end up on the side of the road, injured and needing the help of that wonderful medical staff and emergency personnel.

      He should get his car fixed. The wheels keep coming off!
      But he has a very good plastic surgeon.

    just seen your amazing garden railroad, would like to know how you power your trains. and do you ever get snow?

  • @gohawks3571

    It's me again; I love this so much! How do you deal with weather? It's making me dream about doing this. Beautiful work, thank you for sharing ✌️

    • @Landsend-Railroad
      @Landsend-Railroad  4 года назад +1

      Stop dreaming and just get started. The weather can be a problem, but not a mayor one. Everything is made to stand the weather. A light rain even helps matters, it improves the electrical pick-up. A heavy rain can cause flooding - not so good. It also splatters dirt onto the track. The trains are water proof. Even a moderate snow fall can be plowed using the trains. The worst thing is a frost with ice on the rails, nothing moves when that happens. A wind storm is a pest. It brings all kinds of debris down from the trees. Cleaning, pruning and fixing wild animal damage are a constant activity.
      Thanks for taking an interest.

    Where did you get the buildings for your RR, did you make them?

    • @Landsend-Railroad
      @Landsend-Railroad  Год назад

      Most buildings are from POLA. They are made of weather resistant plastic and come as kits. Some of my buildings I scatch built using waterproof Plywood and tar papier for roof coverings..

    How do you keep the little plants alive?!

    • @Landsend-Railroad
      @Landsend-Railroad  4 года назад

      Since everything is out in the garden mother nature takes care of things. Only occasional watering is needed in the summer and then there is of course the trimming and weeding.

    Great video. Next time use stabilizer for the camera so it wont wiggle

    • @Landsend-Railroad
      @Landsend-Railroad  5 лет назад +1

      Nate, I do use a stabilizer, but you have to appreciate I am not always on solid footing. Fighting your balance and the camera is a bit tricky. Also, did you know, by using the stabilizer you lose some of the picture quality, because the camera is cropping. The up-loading reduces the picture sharpness considerably anyways. There would not be much left.
