They're using predominantly bamboo, which isn't wood/tree. It's a grass and grows remarkably quickly. What they've done is build something using sustainable local materials. They can also be used by any travellers through the area, it could be rented out or used as a community centre. Also, "slaughter" is exclusively used for people/animals
