    That is by far the coolest steam-engine I've ever seen on RUclips! With a working steam regulator as well! So smooth! It is now in my dreams.

    nicest powerplant that I ever saw. I annually attend "Cabin Fever Expo" for the last 24 years and quality like this is a rarity. You can be proud of your design and workmanship. Thank you for sharing.

    truly a work of art, when i first saw the thumbnail i expected this to be one of those super loud miniature engines, but nope! just a lovely quiet whisper still unmistakably a steam engine sound, but pleasantly quiet, this takes me back to when i was a little kid and we had a local steam museum that i would visit

    No any new comments here, but I can’t see that without make mine! Absolutely beautiful work, with so fine details... lot of machining knowledge, of course, but so much planning in setup and tuning all components... and absolutely loving the red strap matching with the Engine colour... Congrats, great work!

    That is just so relaxing and beautiful to see. I had the "threshing machine" model. My grandma Hilda Gerold gave me that threshing machine for Christmas, and I always remember that. I also recall seeing this wonderful dynamo in a catalog, in addition to an accessory dynamo for the thresher, also externally belt driven. Thanks so much for sharing it here on RUclips, I appreciate it very much. 73 DE W8LV BILL

    Often wondered on the brass bearings where all the oil goes, i guess some gets flung off but what about the rest ?

    • @steamandsmoke97
      @steamandsmoke97 5 лет назад +1

      Most steam engines are total-loss lubrication, all of it at some point or another drips out or gets flung out and wasted after being used which is why the oil cups need to be continously refilled. The only engines that were not total-loss were high speed engines used for generator, centrifugal pump, and fan service, as well as Doble steam car engines. Those engines had an enclosed crank case with a sump much like an IC engine and were either splash lubricated, or pressure lubricated on larger engines. Skinner Uniflow engines were some of the biggest high-speed reciprocating engines to exist that had an enclosed case with an actual oil pump.

    • @Dampfharry
      @Dampfharry  4 года назад +2

      I made a oil pan under the engine, but of course you have to clean a lot by hand.

    Absolutely gorgeous piece of model steam engineering. Would this model ever be offered for sale? I quite understand if not, but it does not hurt to ask. It's rare to see the PM Research #1 with the "Ecclectors" functioning governor added as well as working cylinder drains and crank driven feed pump. It's quite a sophisticated plant!

    • @Rimrock300
      @Rimrock300 6 лет назад

      If one search for '1/12 brick' or 1/16 on ebay there are some major suppliers there. I'm going to need something for my first steam project myself. I've also seen with standard ceramic tile dealers there are different kinds of small tiles, like 1x1 inch to be found that can be fine to use for flooring
