I continued for another lap, but was loosing so many places I decided to retire from the race. On inspection I discovered that the disc valve had split. I'd fitted disc valves that had a hexagonal hole, the discs slid onto hexagonal drives which were mounted on each end of the crankshaft, having woodruff keys to provide the drive.
