Love seeing your lovely garden as it changes through the seasons. So jealous that you can grow hydrangeas in full sun. Here in Queensland, Australia they have to be protected and grown in shade. Looking forward to your spring garden.

Thank you ! I'm rooting limelights for friends and family! I love to experiment. This time I used a rooting hormone and they look very happy so far.

Thanks for the refresher -- makes me think I should maybe take my paniculatas down a bit more. Your advice is very good about stepping away and coming back to take another look. Also, I have begun wearing eye protection when I prune so that I don't poke myself in the eye when I reach down into the center of the plant!

I experiment in my garden as well! Doesn’t hurt to try and see what happens.🌷☀️🌷

Hi, I love your garden and videos! I would like to try sheet mulching this year. I love the variety of plants you have in your gardens. How do you decide what to plant where, besides taking sun exposure and moisture into consideration. Do you kind of plant freely or design precisely?

I definitely plant freely! I spend time staring at the garden and daydreaming, and imagining what it might look like.

Thanks for this lesson. I have a few hydrangeas that I planted two summers ago; they haven’t performed well because deer, rabbits keep nibbling on them, and they didn’t get enough sun because of a rainy summer last year. Would it encourage growth if I pruned them or should I just allow them to grown on a bit more?

This is very helpful.... so my limelights are very new.. planted very small in fall of 22.. they bloomed summer 2023..question is they have very skinny branches.. should i cut all those off completely and only leave the strong ones, or should i cut them only halfway

When they are really young (twigy), I wait a year or two to prune them.
