So funny to me that folks wanna be on the water all day but go to great lengths to not get their feet wet. Get outta the boat so it can be loaded onto the trailer with ease!
I've been on boats since I was in the womb, and I am extremely grateful you don't film at my local ramp. The bad days at the ramp are always when the cameras out. Love the channel, keep up the awesome vids and commentary!
Glad you're back and as funny as ever. I've driven a boat just like the catamaran at the beginning of the video. The first time I took a turn at speed, 40mph + or -, I darn near emptied the craft of all passengers and gear including myself. Turning the boat left through us all to the right, with force. There was no lean for the boat, it stayed flat on the water but we all slid across the deck. It was odd, my head was expecting one thing but my body was doing something else. I straightened her up and slowed down and after drying off all the soda and beer my friends had hurled at me we went on knowing what to expect and had a great day.
"Now this captain comes in here slinging the steering wheel around like Dick Trickle on a dirt track" OMG, I just spit my coffee laughing, funny Nascar reference. And the end with the mustache looking like the guy from the Diabeeeeetus commercials. Thanks CCC, this made my day.
The greater the distance between engines, the more maneuverable the boat is. The closer they are together they are, the the faster the boat is. I have a 1957 19' Lyman, single inboard, it take me a football field to make a turn, really tiny rudder.
CCC I love your narrating. Funny but true. Some of these videos are hard to watch at first, then they get down right hilarious. 😂 I haven't seen a manatee wearing a green shirt before.
I'm 3/4 of the way through this great collection of boat watchin' (one of my favorite pastimes too), it reminded me of the old Clintwood movie The Good, the bad, and the ugly lol, and made me wish we had a boat ramp like that for evening entertainment :)
I had a 22" Glacier Bay for a number of years. It was a great diving/fishing/party boat. The spread on the motors allowed me to maneuver with throttles only most of the time. I could literally turn in my own space. Handled 3-4 foot chop with ease.
You mentioned mach 1 on the water reminds me of the boat I had (briefly) about 40 years ago. It was a 15' tri-hull, with an 80 horse Johnson on it. A previous owner had X-braced the back with 3" angle iron because it had started to tear at the corners. It was pretty hairy.
Hey captain! I like your vids! I bought a boat this year, and watched most of your videos PRIOR to go at the ramp for the first time. It's getting there, i'm not the best yet, but I definitely know what NOT to do and get embarassed hahah keep up your good work
When did people start leaving everyone in the boat when attempting to trailer their boats? If you let everyone off the boat (get as much weight off as possible) it make it easier, at least to me!
ever since you explained in a video what your mama taught you about backing a trailer, not only have i been adhering to that method but ive been making my rounds on you tube explaining it in the comments. its amazing how many ppl could improve at backing a trailer if they could have learned from your mother.
thanks for saying not to back in too deep. better to far out than too far in. one thing that really really makes things easy, besides a working brain, are trailer bunks with those plastic covers. I can push my 4000 lb boston whaler off with one hand.
Another slice of life (stupid life, but life non-the-less) from the CCC. Thank you for the wonderful sights you have shared. Maybe some will learn from others. Be well.
We have a 39’ blue thunder, now about 42’ . Catamarans are so easy to maneuver as are any twin engine boat. I could see how he could maybe not see the trailer due to the bow but he could possibly be a new boat owner too.
The goof in the cat can’t drive. 😂 I have a cat boat also. You can turn it 360 inside itself. Having the motors spread gives you 100% boat control. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO OPERATE IT. LOL
good luck with the 2 stroke pontooner and 10 people on trying to load it on the trailer....credit card capt.'s. brutal.... tying up boat ramps for hours...lol
I've found that moving all the lazy lumps of human flesh to the back of a pontoon boat helps in keeping the bow up when loading. Oh Green Lantern walking out of the water looked like he might be trying to bulk up to a new level before cutting down.
Man I tell ya what, I just got my first bass boat. I'm sure I'll have you a week's worth of footage soon. 😂 I loved my jon boat cause ita so light if I'm off a bit I just move it. This boat I just got I can't even start to lift. Why do I do this to myself? Oh yeah I love being on the water.
Ive owned 5 boats and been running boars all my life , trailering rule keep the trailer winch on your center line of the boat works every time except for side by side jet skis.
0:57 I had a Bayliner Trophy with a Mercury like that. Bought it after it sunk, fixed it up, put it in the water, we had a blast for 1 hour. And then the 100 liters or petrol (26.5 Gallons) I put in ran out. 😅 I hadn't installed the new fuel gauge yet but I had never counted with 100 liters per freaking hour🤣 For a normal guy like me, here in Norway with our gas prices, No fckn way. I sold the boat on the spot to the guy that towed me in 😂 Made a good profit so it all went to plan actually.
Extended drawbar could help a lot. A couple of different styles. Slide out. Or swing around. Sliding type is heavy and doesn't need to come off tow ball. They allow the tow vehicle to stay high and dry. But hell don't be PUSSY boys, boating does mean getting damp / wet sometimes. Cheers from Chch, New Zealand.
i always back in that deep. i had to put my rear tires 2 or 3 feet past the waters edge so i could float my 265 baja onto the trailer and winch it down. non of this blatant power loading and crooked trailer BS. when your parking a 30 offshore on a trailer you think a little smarter and avoid washing out the dock, bashing the trailer, smashing peoples body parts. etc.
Funny all you have to do is put the engine in forward gear it unlocks, lift engine move pin done .Maybe the CCCaptain wants to make bling out of the Fin.
I have a Bayliner with an 85 force engine like the one who didn't raise his motor. Mine didn't come with a tilt and trim set up, so I have to raise and lower it by hand. I am getting a tilt and trim for it, hopefully today, so I can get it set.
That Catamaran?? Is like being Captain on a Tug Boat with 25,000 Barrels of oil in a 135ft long Tanger Barge battling the Current going up the Mississippi River.
Anyone else notice with the “Ramp Camper” couple at 8:07 - dude leaves and the guy that comes back looks like a completely different dude? He has on a different hat, different shirt, no boat shoes but now has high tops and black socks!
We owned different boats over the last 20 plus years and I NEVER power loaded any boats onto the trailer. I would pull up to the dock, get everyone out of the boat, get my trailer in the water and then position my boats in place and crank them all in without incident. Then again I had all roller trailers and the ramps here are not as steep as those but still never wasted time trying to reposition or stir up mud and crap trying to power load. Never made sense to me.
One thing I always wondered about boats like the one at 12:00 : Yes, they are insanely fast, but don't these people realize what happens if they hit a wave or something at that speed?
The guy “too far left and backing in too deep” def didn’t do wrong by trying to float the boat. If it’s “too far left” then float it and it’ll very likely situate itself. My wifey often backs our trailer in sideways and we pull it out, situate everything and then some, and just before leaving I float the boat, pull out nice n slow and the boat rights itself…
If you ever do make a video about backing up a trailer, I'm going to put it on for my wife and then walk out of the room. *I* can't teach her, so maybe you can. She's smart enough, but if I tell her turn the wheel right, she's gonna turn it left just to show ME. She's definitely smart enough, but a wise husband never tries to teach the wife how to play golf or back up a trailer. It's just a shortcut to a fight.
You don’t have to press any throttle to get all jet skis to move. Same reason you can turn the bars to one side and do a 360 with no hands. Prop still turns and you don’t have to throttle it to load it. Just inexperience is all that is
Holy hell… I think I’ll find another boat dock, this one has bleachers , fans and hecklers. Even the best boat guy would have stage fright .
It is actually quite pathetic the crowd that is standing there. I totally agree with you.
So funny to me that folks wanna be on the water all day but go to great lengths to not get their feet wet. Get outta the boat so it can be loaded onto the trailer with ease!
The Boat ramps are hella slippery so if I can avoid walking on them I will
@@TripleDiamonds that’s why unloading people and coolers etc while at the dock is a good strategy. Nobody has to wipe out on a slippery ramp.
@@TripleDiamonds - very true. So slick that if you back down too far with a rear wheel drive,,,, you could lose the truck!! Heh heh.
I know! Me and my pops launched boats in buzzards Bay. Concrete with no padding. I always Got my feet wet. No issues
@@TripleDiamonds poor baby can't get 😅his sneakers wet

My dad used to race with Dick Trickle in Wisconsin Rapids at Griffith Park Speedway!!
Thanks CCC for another terrific video. Your narration is spot on. TMP from N.J.
My favorite is CCC. Thanks man.

I agree, I had a 23' SeaCat and you could do anything with it. Loading was no problem at all.

Saves time and isn't an issue for many.
Spotter in the family.
For sure. Get all of those people out of the bow...
Pileated woodpecker - I have them visiting my back yard up here in MInnesota.

I wonder if genius that swam to the ramp had his key fob in his pocket?🤣🛫
I'll cut two-stroke cap a little slack because he's just spent the day with a boat full of young, strong, sit-n-watch crew.
That "Skeg dragger" Chrysler 50 isn't worth the $150.00 it costs to weld a new skeg on that lower unit. But I got him when he needs it done.
Don't worry about that Bayliner with the force, it's got a self clearance'in skeg

dock the boat and tie it up. then get the trailer. i understand that ramps get busy but geez no need to rush and panic.

simple question: Is a boat heavier when all passengers are still in (and still sitting on the bow)? ;-)

Motors with a wide spread have a feeling of more control and a swifter response to much smaller inputs.

I have been boating for all of one year. Put 150 hours on the boat that’s 22’. I can launch or load in under a minute. It’s really not that difficult.

How many days and nights are they going to spend on the ramp?
7:36 I didnt know whales were capable of walking on land.. What an amazing form of species..
I bet everyone had to back the trailers in a little further when the green shirt guy climbed out of the water.
And like you said no reason to float your boat all the way to the winch, people always look like there trying to launch boat motor & trailer🤣😂🤣
"Dick Trickle on a dirt track.." Hahahahaha
Looks like no one on that first catamaran is going to help the captain spot the trailer.
