    To make this truck make more sense, it needs a big boost in payload capacity. Maybe they need to offer the rebel option for the 3500 as well.
    As it is, the Ford F250 Tremor with the 6.7 power stroke has over 1000lb more payload.

    When will Ram put a 10sp transmission in the 2500, 3500, 4500?

    As used vehicle prices are tanking hard, interest rates continues to go up…and so are new vehicle prices…something has to give. Example, a 2021 used/loaded power wagon was worth $73K less than 6 months ago, dropped 10K in trade-in value when checked today. This is more in the “normal range” and where it should be, however you can’t have your cake and eat it to. Ben Hardy’s channel has some interesting information on this subject. Can’t wait to see how this all shakes out

  • @daves1646

    Did RAM do anything to make the regular 2500/Cummins more “class competitive” for payload so it can tow heavier hitch/pin loads? Or just available for the extra $10K on the ‘ Rebel’ version?

    • @Pickuptrucktalk
      @Pickuptrucktalk  2 года назад

      I haven't seen anything like a heavy-duty payload package. Payload is better on gas trucks than diesel for 2500 trucks. It is the weight of the engine which is about a 1k lbs more. You have to go to 1-ton to get more payload.

    • @PlayWaves1
      @PlayWaves1 2 года назад +1

      GM and Ford technically cheat the 3/4 ton class with GVWRs above 10,000 lbs. Ford's 3/4 ton grosses at 10,800 and GM 11,350. The class 2 weight class tops out at 10,000 gvwr which means GM and Ford 3/4 tons are technically class 3 / 3500 class vehicles. Some could say that's cheating or a good decision to increase payload, but it seems Ram is sticking with a true to the class 9,999 gvwr.

      I don't understand these strange comparisons. Each manufacturer sees his client in his own way! RAM offers a variant of the 2500 as a multifunctional car and more for daily driving. Therefore, they have a linkage suspension at the back, with a lower carrying capacity, but which will not shake out all the insides. Need more? There are 3500 on springs! You can just without twin wheels. The same car. The salons are identical - and you will get everything similar to competitors! But, to ride this cart every day, while it is unloaded, is to beat the soul out of yourself! Who knows how they called and how they play marketing, technically it looks similar!

    I think they went the wrong direction. The Power Wagon isn’t really a heavy duty truck since you can’t tow or haul a lot with it. Instead, add a front locker, winch, and disconnectable sway bar to a Rebel and call it… wait, isn’t that a TRX?

      I read rumours about a heavy duty ZF that might be coming. That would be awesome. I wonder if the strong engine brake is what limits transmission options. Maybe it tears them up?

    I don’t like EV because you have to spend more times charging and even more stressful days so I prefer buy gas because the factor time and not stressful. By the way if I have to buy a Electric Car it has to run for one change a thousand miles and that will be impossible to us because the multi millionaire company just give us short trips and more stressful life. For me the winner is the gas 👏

    I really like the Ram. The interiors are really nice. My friends Ram is still in the shop after having it only two weeks because the knob for the transmission shift broke and left him stranded. Yes - I know we'll never get it but - I want either a column or center physical shift. I like them - I prefer them - and while I really like these trucks (others) I probably will never purchase them. (crap, am I getting old? Oh well, I like it :D HHA)

    • @ITrustInDog
      @ITrustInDog 2 года назад

      Column shifters are the best. Console shifters take away too much of the console space and lead to ridiculously over complicated solutions like what ford has done with the fold down shifter. And it’s not like these shifters are mechanical in any way. It’s just a selector mechanism. The dial is fine for something that you only use a few times under normal driving conditions. But I prefer the column.

    Just here to dump on this vehicle for all the annoying people who complain about an EV they’ll never buy.
    Omg, this thing will run out of gas within a day if it’s just idling??? You have to go to a disgusting gas station to fill it up? Yuck!
    Then you have to pay for fuel, and you can’t even make the fuel yourself??? Who would ever buy something that you can’t power from home?
    And when you wake up it’s not full?
    Gosh, and every single mile it’s spitting out pollutants and people behind you have to breath it? And it makes the air in your town dirtier…
    No frunk, no ability to power tools or rv, how can you even do your job with this?
    Terrible center of gravity makes it top heavy causing rolling, no instant torque you have to Wait for power to build up, what a scam.
    Who would be dumb enough to buy a gas/diesel vehicle!
