Man, I had so much fun with this one. I only got two endings. The grand staircase ending and the Camp Adytum one. The plane one I didnt even know it existed. Also on my second playthrough I found it... near Vault 34. God bless that thing.
Nope. The lore iirc indicates the Courier sided with the NCR. When the NCR expanded it essentially took the Cloud from the Sierra Madre as a biological weapon on the resistance in Freeside. It all went downhill from there.
A couple years late, but here: It's basically a "worst possible ending" situation for all parties involved. Everyone failed, completely and utterly The Courier flunked every DLC. Got the worst endings on all of them that aren't just a non-standard game over, and completely ignored problems like the spore beasts in places like the Vault, Big Mountain and in Zion. On top of that, he went Independent Vegas and thus got branded a terrorist by the NCR. The NCR managed to eventually take over Vegas. but then they accidentally released the Sierra Madre's Cloud into the Strip afterward. Soon afterward they were forced to flee Vegas completely. From there, everything went to hell as cannibalism, revolution, the tunnel beasts and storm from the divide, left-behind soldiers of both the Legion and NCR, and everything else you can think of caused the Mojave to become utterly uninhabitable. There's a guy who did a nice big coverage video series on Dust's whole story, Spaceman Scott. I recommend it. It's themed around a survivor in the world of Dust being the one telling the story of it, and it's a nice listen.
To everyone doing the sierra madre run now, it has been complicated more to take the sewer key, you have to take elijahs key also but this one takes you to the sierra madre suits, to open the elevator, go to the casino and to the cashiers room, take the safes password and go to some security terminal inside de casino offices, then open the suit elevator and go to vera room to take the sewer key in the counter. PD: some stealth boys in the dog´s body in the kitchen might come in handy to go through the holograms, since i couldnt deactivate them :( hope this help anyone!
DUST is so cool because it's the first thing I've played that's an apocalypse that takes place after a post-post-apocalypse (apocalypse happened, things are mostly fine again), i.e. default new vegas

Your video seems to be a little broken but good guide for these endings. I like the zion/long dark one the best. Ive played this mod like 4 or 5 times and im sure i havent seen everything yet.
So, would you say DUST is worth playing? I've heard some differing opinions on it and I'd like an opinion from someone that's played it as thoroughly as you have.
I'd say dust is worth checking out. It might be kinda hard to get into because of the insane difficulty at the start but after that, the game becomes way more fun, even if it is kinda slow paced. The scattered lore on terminals and notes on people that were alive in the vanilla game also really adds to the immersion. Easily one of the best Fallout: New Vegas mods in my opinion.
Rallinth In many games, when you commit the bad ending, that’s it. End of the story. In DUST, you play throughout the bad ending. All in order to try and “begin again”
Mike reyes what you said is the equivalent of saying a baby should use a wheelchair until they learn to walk no they needs to crawl to suffer to learn to play Dust Aka before they can walk
Dust is a little too extreme but I do like this concept for the west coast. Even after everything that's happened the old world wasn't quite done yet. NCR, Vegas and even the Legion started to relax only for the spore carriers, the cloud, the tunnelers and whatever else to destroy it all again.
Thepiller no you can find him in the game and kill him he is in the lake mead river bed but be careful as he set a shit ton of traps and he has a 50 cal on him
Kept you waiting, huh? You’re all wrong. It explicitly states on the wiki that the Courier canonically took the Yes Man/Mr House ending and it lead to the events of Fallout: DUST.
The easiest way to escape is via plane in my opinion. It is even the easiest to reach, you only have to deal with the Brotherhood and the Radscorpions Everything else? You have to fetch or do a ton of things, deal with Ghouls, Ghost People, heavily armored survivors, Spore Carriers and the Wendigo
Honestly, I am surprised DUST even has a vertibird ending - it would've been very fitting for the player to get shitted on throughout, finally get kitted out, go through the sewers, strip ruins, and camp McCarran only for a pop up upon reaching out to the vertibird and getting a message "the vertibird is fucking junk - might as well just put a bullet through my head" - with the extra kick being that it's really just another alternative to the plane ending.
The story in this mod feels a bit unrealistic, because the author chose the most terrible situation that couldve ever happened, where everyone took all the shittest possible choices both during the main game and even outside of it, it just seems ridiculous that the courier wouldnt have realised that the ncr dont really want to aid new vegas and the communities residing within it and around it, and doesnt do anything to change their way, i.e. ally them with the kings,BoS, but still decides to help them after all, while still nuking the long 15, but after he aided them, he decides, oh shit helping house/being independent is better, so he tries to fuck em over No need to mention the fuckups that the ncr had done, my point is that its pretty unrealistic for the courier to contradict himself in so many ways, while all the natural disasters come at once, when everyone at ncr desides to be shit
@Vault Boy Talks How It Is obviously, but its lore was so deep and detailed that it felt weird for so many contradictions to exist, in the end though, its stalker mixed with fallout, what more could i ask
@Chris Hansen Are you joking? The Kings are just a street gang. The NCR are an army. There are multiple ways to ally them with the Kings, Followers, Brotherhood etc, all for the betterment of the wasteland.
@Chris Hansen Followers are the biggest advocates for Independence, and they get completely fucked over in that ending. Being Idolized by the NCR and Followers can lead to reuniting them to help Freeside. Same with the Kings. Shit's fucked up before you fix it, that's the point of the whole game, to make the Mojave into a more hospitable place. The NCR can do that when played correctly.
@@ElMarcoHoJ The problem with the NCR is that they just don't have the force to hold all the West. They struggle to keep their own people in check, and then turn to the East looking for *more* territory to expand into. The NCR government has become greedy and corrupt, just like the American Government that preceded it in the Fallout Universe. And even if they do, in fact, have the best of intentions, there are many hints throughout the game that things aren't looking so hot for the NCR in the West. The fact is they *need* Vegas to revitalize their economy. The NCR's money is worth significantly less than the bottle caps used in Vegas and elsewhere in the Wasteland, to the point that one of the quarry workers in Sloan even comments that he's basically getting ripped off for being paid with NCR cash cause no merchants want it. Chief Hanlon at Camp Golf comments that all the Lakes are dried up now in California because of how much water the NCR has pumped out, leading to drought. And what backs up the economy of the Fallout Universe? Water. That all important resource. Also, several NPCs comment about civil unrest and the corruption of the B Brahmin barons and crime families in New Reno, which the NCR Government has to bend over backwards to appease because everyone knows they're the ones bringing the caps to the table. So yeah... the NCR puts on a good show of being the heroes. But they have fatal flaws. I'm not saying they're bad guys all round. But they are definitely bad for the Mojave. They don't care about the people there. All they care about is the resources. The strip, the water, and the dam. And this is supported in game by the fact that the NCR shows little to no regard for other settlements like Goodsprings or Novac. Because those places have nothing to offer. The NCR and the Legion, in my opinion, have the same problem. The world isn't ready for big governments yet in New Vegas. There aren't enough people. There aren't enough resources. If the Legion moves to take the West, the East falls, and vice versa. To me, Ulysses put it best in his final recording to the courier. Hoover Dam, and really all of New Vegas. It's an old world wall, bridging two sides. It isn't meant to be conquered by either.
So... I’m still confused. Did Dust take place after the Lone Road DLC? Was it because the protagonist couldn’t help good enough? Or was it because things got SOOO bad betwixt NCR And New Vegas nukes were involved?
The two nuked areas are accessible in DUST which would imply that the nukes were launched. But I think most of the lonesome road history has been erased since so many people who were part of the lore are now dead and the NCR and Legion have abandoned the Mohave. I don't think the courier is all that relevant to DUST since everything went to shit either way.
@@Whyamibzsdmh if im not wrong you can still find the courier and figth him in dust, i think he even tells you he went for the independent ending for the mojav but he didnt liberate the robot army, ending in a baffilingly stupid confrontation with the ncr where he was marked as a terrorist and he had to escape to the lonesome road

I'm not sure how fun it is hiding clues about how to get to the endings around the entire Mojave. The only real reason I downloaded Dust was because I had nothing left to do in the base game, and there's nothing really to do in this mod
I've never seen these places while playing the game. Although I finished the game 2 times and played in detail, I did not see them. It turns out I've missed a lot.... :(
I mean to put it bluntly. DUST takes place 20 years after the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. NCR wins. Legion loses. Courier betrayed NCR allegedly under orders of House or Yes Man. Force NCR to leave NV. NCR comes back and annexes it - brands the Courier as a terrorist and is hunted. Unrest is created. People retaliate. NCR handles it (mostly). NCR discovers the Cloud at the Sierra Madre. NCR experiments on Cloud and Ghost people, they bring them to the Lucky 38. Sabotage happens at the Lucky 38 and basically makes the Cloud erupt on the Strip & Freeside. Unrest skyrockets to shit. NCR fucking guns blazing. Cloud kills off most people anyway. NCR, bystanders etc. General Oliver orders evacuation of NCR from NV. NCR fucks off from NV. What's next? Tunneler invasion. Killing even more people. The Cloud from the Sierra Madre consumes what's left of the Mojave's blue sky. ^ --------------- 20 years of history in a nutshell --------------- ^ Jump to the present - you play as a nobody. What's left of the NCR in NV are abandoned expeditionary forces and scavenger groups - who shoot everyone on sight. What's left of the Legion are divided tribal groups, cannibals or successive remnants - who shoot everyone on sight. Brotherhood is scattered. Boomers are dead. King's are dead. All of your vanilla companions are dead. Goodsprings died. House is presumably dead, along with Yes Man. The Courier's whereabouts are unknown. (You could go looking for him.) The DLC areas are accessible and fucking hell on Earth. Joshua Graham's d̶e̶a̶d̶. (Try looking for him in Zion...I advise you stay away from there completely) Khan's are still alive somehow. And mostly every where you go are just full of Tunnelers, Ghouls, Cannibals and just about everything that wants to kill you. To sum up: Try to survive. And enjoy your stay in New Vegas - the jewel of the Nevada.
The Motherfucking Emperor of Mankind the cloud part is actually an alternate ending of Dead Money where the Courier sides with Elijah and they bring the cloud to the Mojave
Larry Jones And is that a fate you would call 'living'? He's dead in my book. Plus the actual mod never identifies the cannibal as 'Boone' specifically but hey, what happens. Happens.
My only complain with DUST so far after multiple playthrough is that the ending for the player to reach the specific area is rather.. dumb I guess? No offense, basically what I'm saying is that, why on Earth, the location of Sierra Madre villa, have a sewer tunnel beneath the villa which also somehow connected to Camp Adytum, Boneyard, Los Angeles which doesn't make sense in term of geographical area of the west coast. It's literally immersion breaking to me since when did vanilla DLC have a sewer level in Dead Money? Bad choice there because you could just fly the vertibird straight to Camp Adytum instead crashing into Sierra Madre. Other ending location, while not really immersion breaking, the Pine Tunnel creek in Honest Heart DLC, this tunnel somehow connected to a pre-war Vault that has a unexplained maze like puzzle level which also somehow connected to Lonesomeroad DLC, the Divide like WTF?!
It might be kinda dumb to try and weave in all the DLC locations when they're so thematically different, but at the same time, DUST was kind of a fluke. It had no right to be as good as it is. So I'm willing to overlook it not being a masterfully crafted apocalypse through and through.
Yep and his body got reanimated and he became a spore carrier called the wendigo by the way this Joshua is no way comparable to our Joshua from main game in dust he's a ruthless warlord that was ready to execute Daniel and made all the tribes like the white legs which resulted in them massacring a vault to escape but then they get clapped by the surprisingly peaceful and civilized marked men who formed their own tribe
I'm gonna assume you mean the part with the long dark, which has nothing to do with Big Mountain. There are only a couple rooms and things to loot so it won't take long before you find it.
@@Whyamibzsdmh I mean I don’t want the Capital Wasteland to be affected I just like the idea of the Mojave being an actual wasteland unlike Vegas if Antifa and BLM showed up
No, you can't do that. I don't know what that mod pack is but I bet it alters a lot of things that Dust either removes or changes completely. And If you add new features like sprinting or bullet time you will break the balance of the mod, so I would just try to keep it vanilla.
@@Whyamibzsdmh Damn I was hoping it was like that just throw it in and it turns the whole new Vegas into a new playable area but I am seeing now that it just changes what's there already so yeah this definitely wouldnt work with 390 other mods
It's impossible to kill, it doesn't even die when you reduce its health to zero. I would show it but the truth is if you see it you'll probably be dead soon anyway.
That bullshit is hardcoded into the mod to be invincible. Think of companions that have the "essential" flag active on them so that they can't die in non-hardcore difficulties in the vanilla game. The problem with the Wendigo is that it't not active at all times, but spawns in and out of the game in specific areas and in specific moments and no conventional weapon found in the game (even fatmans) can't injure it. Plus, when I said "hardcoded into the mod" at the beginning, I meant it. If you go into the console command and try to use things such as 'kill' or 'disable', the Wendigo isn't affected by it, meaning that, effectively, you have no way of getting rid of it because you can't physically remove it from the game. The author of the mod was kind enough (not really) to program it so that fire can scare it off for a while, so something like a flamer/flamethrower/flare gun can keep it at bay. However, its ai knows at all times where you are in the world so that the game can spawn it right behind you. It's also overpowered, in the sense that even if it was killable, it has more hp than an alpha deathclaw, can hit you twice as hard and with a persistent fog at all times (or most of the time anyway), you can't really see it coming until it jumps at you. Aestethically, it's supposed to be an actual Wendigo (think of those included in Until Dawn to get an idea of what they look like), however in reality it's just a giant spore carrier model from Vault 22, all stretched out and as tall as a 2 stories building, which looks like a deflated balloon. All in all, the Wendigo is supposed to be spooky and scary, but in reality is just an annoiance that you can't get rid of until you leave Zion, like a mosquito buzzing in your ear all night. The first couple of times the game spawns it, it actually makes your heart skip a beat if you don't know about it, but once it starts attacking, it's just a waste of everyone's time, because it forces you to gear up and spec yourself up in explosives, heavy weapons and stock up on fuel-type gear like flamers and the like, meaning that you can't really bring much of your actual equipment in favor of an absurd amount of fuel canisters just to make sure you can keep it away long enough to find what you need i Zion and then move on to the Long Dark/Lonesome Road areas. And all of this, on top of the other changes that were done to Zion in general. Thick fog means you can't see where you're going, spore carriers spawn in increased numbers, ammunition was already scarce in vanilla and is even more so in the Dust version of the map. The only upside is that the Survivalist's skeleton and gear should still be in their vanilla spot (haven't checked myself), meaning that you can get access to a free set of riot gear, but at the same time, it's not worth the effort because the Wendigo will make you run out of fuel canisters before you can get to it.
Mod Vault where it was kinda like what happened with Vault 3, only with tribals this time instead of Fiends. Pretty chilling, especially since you're on edge from the Wendigo and it's just empty.

Plus they probably did that on purpose so the player would think they’re safe to roam around at noon, but they’d be in for one heart attack of a surprise.

FROST was much more nerve wracking for me. Which is fun in its own way. I run into more game breaking bugs in it though

@@noxer5589 exactly! frost was fine, but i could never get into on the same level. there's no interesting lore because its a prequel. the best part of Dust was seeing how all the characters and factions turned out after the Courier's time. in Frost, there is no interesting factions or lore other than the mildenmen or whatever they are called - and the exmilitary are pretty interesting. even then, the fabricated storyline of frost lacks any foundation for my interests.

Ok. Can someone fill me in here. What happened to the Mojave and I’m guessing Elijah won in Dead Money.
Nope. The lore iirc indicates the Courier sided with the NCR. When the NCR expanded it essentially took the Cloud from the Sierra Madre as a biological weapon on the resistance in Freeside. It all went downhill from there.
Rural Ascetic sounds cool. I might give it a try
@@hughanon nah they betrayed the ncr, probably with yes man, and the ncr invaded vegas
A couple years late, but here:
It's basically a "worst possible ending" situation for all parties involved. Everyone failed, completely and utterly
The Courier flunked every DLC.

Yes but use console commands to play it until you get good

Dust is a little too extreme but I do like this concept for the west coast. Even after everything that's happened the old world wasn't quite done yet. NCR, Vegas and even the Legion started to relax only for the spore carriers, the cloud, the tunnelers and whatever else to destroy it all again.

This mod looks creepy and evil its insane... Love it
Honestly, I am surprised DUST even has a vertibird ending - it would've been very fitting for the player to get shitted on throughout, finally get kitted out, go through the sewers, strip ruins, and camp McCarran only for a pop up upon reaching out to the vertibird and getting a message "the vertibird is fucking junk - might as well just put a bullet through my head" - with the extra kick being that it's really just another alternative to the plane ending.
The story in this mod feels a bit unrealistic, because the author chose the most terrible situation that couldve ever happened, where everyone took all the shittest possible choices both during the main game and even outside of it, it just seems ridiculous that the courier wouldnt have realised that the ncr dont really want to aid new vegas and the communities residing within it and around it, and doesnt do anything to change their way, i.e. ally them with the kings,BoS, but still decides to help them after all, while still nuking the long 15, but after he aided them, he decides, oh shit helping house/being independent is better, so he tries to fuck em over
No need to mention the fuckups that the ncr had done, my point is that its pretty unrealistic for the courier to contradict himself in so many ways, while all the natural disasters come at once, when everyone at ncr desides to be shit
@Vault Boy Talks How It Is obviously, but its lore was so deep and detailed that it felt weird for so many contradictions to exist, in the end though, its stalker mixed with fallout, what more could i ask
@Chris Hansen NCR are literally the best choice for the Mojave.
Also, several NPCs comment about civil unrest and the corruption of the B
Brahmin barons and crime families in New Reno, which the NCR Government has to bend over backwards to appease because everyone knows they're the ones bringing the caps to the table. So yeah... the NCR puts on a good show of being the heroes.

^ --------------- 20 years of history in a nutshell --------------- ^
Jump to the present - you play as a nobody.
(You could go looking for him.)
The DLC areas are accessible and fucking hell on Earth.
Joshua Graham's d̶e̶a̶d̶. (Try looking for him in Zion...I advise you stay away from there completely)
Khan's are still alive somehow.
And mostly every where you go are just full of Tunnelers, Ghouls, Cannibals and just about everything that wants to kill you.
To sum up: Try to survive. And enjoy your stay in New Vegas - the jewel of the Nevada.

I played that mod a long time ago and never really liked it. Where did you get Great Jack and Clover Ace? I mainly did the big mountain ending
Probably so the player can see where it all began, at the Sierra Madre

No, you can't do that. I don't know what that mod pack is but I bet it alters a lot of things that Dust either removes or changes completely. And If you add new features like sprinting or bullet time you will break the balance of the mod, so I would just try to keep it vanilla.
@@Whyamibzsdmh Damn I was hoping it was like that just throw it in and it turns the whole new Vegas into a new playable area but I am seeing now that it just changes what's there already so yeah this definitely wouldnt work with 390 other mods
Can you please show us the Wendigo and killing it?

@@joshreeves1036 sort of but in the mod Elijah is dead, it's the ncr that released the cloud.
@@joshreeves1036 Basically NCR goes power hungry a little, test the cloud, then everything when to hell.
I mean even if he's dead he has won. The "slate" has been "wiped clean."
Can you give me a link of the mods you're using in this vid?
I don't have all the links but I can give you the names at least.
Dust Player Home
Understone
Courier Companion
Centered 3rd person camera
DLC Weapon integration (I'm pretty sure this does nothing as DUST already has similar changes already added)
DUST Survival simulator
Fellout NV
Helpless Falling
Nights are Darker
WARZONES
DUST Fast travel
Mojave Nights
As well as a couple anti-crash mods like the 4 gigabyte patch and whatnot. I'd argue that's a requirement since the game can get very glitchy.
thank you
Xbox does not have this version rigth?
It's a mod for pc but with some trickery you can put nexus mods onto your Xbox through save editing and a USB
my god thing in new Vegas went to shit
The last ending doesn't seem hard at all
It's way easier with a walkthrough but I obviously didn't have that luxury when making this video
Well its just kill some NCR solider's,go through the Long Dark(no enemies)avoid spore carriers and Josh Graham and you're good
Кто после Санчоуса ?
