That's... honestly not a bad idea.
Would be a cool way to learn more about the world and such, from a normal Squid perspective, since all the protags get tangle in "saving the world" and stuff.
Just... building up your own life, working, socializing and doing Turf War would be a interesting. Hell, having the possibility of personalizing our own house and MAYBE having the possibility of becoming a star in the city would be cool by itself!

I like how many Splatoon animations have practically no plot, just because it's so entertaining to watch these dudes simply living their lives
most likely due to the game's focus on the action-packed story modes and multiplayer that there was a lack of the social everyday lore of the series.

Agent 3 will forever be the stoic one, but she's always hiding the fact she's suffering from PTSD from all her missions. Her passing out after watching 8 and Little Buddy eating calamari is perfectly fitting.
I was gonna say something about how cute and wholesome your animations always are… then the plot took a strikingly different turn and I couldn’t stop laughing. Really great animation!

Believe it or not, it is common for animals in the cephalopod family to be cannibals. However, Octopuses resort to cannibalism territoriality, the lack of available prey and the vulnerability of smaller males to being eaten by larger females.
I like how the jellyfish just expect the inklings to casually commit canibalism.

I think according to an interview with the developers of splatoon, inklings do in fact eat squid and other sea creatures, just not the evolved ones that can turn into a kid.
That would imply there are non evolved squids and sea creatures that live in the splatoon world
Kinda like how humans and apes are still both around

@@kirbyfan1844don't forget, most sea creatures are carnivores, as plant life doesn't grow past a relatively shallow depth of the sea. Ever heard the expression "big fish eat little fish?" And that's not even considering how the mass extinction event would have limited their options for food sources.

Apparently all the inklings and octolings come from Alturna, the rest of the sea life is mostly like normal.
This would be like humans eating chimps or even more closesly in comparison, the ancestors to all apes and yes there are people who still eat apes....you just don't find them in western countries
I love how Captain 3 just got permanently traumatized, seeing as how in the games, she is usually completely serious about everything
With the direction and style of this animation, I would love Splatoon going for a slice of life style series. Awesome work and bless the ear wiggles.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE EAR WIGGLES SO MUCH!! Also i love the smallest of details of your animations, like crusty sean working in the background. Even more obvious things like (splat 1) Agent 3 passing out. Absolutely amazing animation

The ear movement really adds a lot of character
The ear-wiggling animation is just way too effectively adorable.
And that is what I call an unexpected serving of a twist ending. But still, the wholesome moments set up the scene very well!
I was about to say how cute and sweet the animation was of all of the agents hanging out until that twist happened but never the less it was great👍
4 months later and I just realized that 8 is the one who ordered the cooked squid! That explains why she’s eating it along with little buddy.
The moment you realize the restaurant uses your own species as their main dish.....wow that's dark.

That was the first time I almost gagged at an animation. That means two things. I love splatoon too much and the animation is so good that I feel immersed in it.
