- Hey there, Squares! Corbin from Square Mowing here, with a wild tale from the streets of Austin, Texas! Back with another free lawn transformation! Picture this: a century-old house, hidden beneath layers of overgrowth, right smack in the heart of a bustling neighborhood. My wife and I stumbled upon it during a lunch drive, and I just knew I had to step in and save the day.
After a quick call to city hall, I learned that this historic gem was facing some serious fines and potential demolition. But fear not, heroes don't wear capes - they wield lawnmowers! Armed with my trusty Stihl edger, I dove into the jungle of overgrown sidewalks, determined to restore this beauty to its former glory.
Seven hours later, and the house was almost back to its old self, except for a few pesky patches of broken pavement that the grass had claimed as its own. But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day, right?

Many FREE to homeowner Landscaper companies just starting out they begin by mowing some yards in more affluent areas of town on weekdays and only cut for free saturday and sunday to allow you to save money for a zero turn commercial lawn mower and perhaps a battery brush cutter and a battery chain saw! You can cut some yards with light equipment but not long term! That light weight lawn mower will be killed by deep grass!

You've done some really good work here. The sidewalk was restored for walking and visually, connected the place back to the area around it. You got the parking area back into shape and visibility for use. The building looks pleasant on its grounds. Overall, a good uplift for the community. This looks familiar but not sure if this is your first or second time working here. It can be important to go back to places two and three times, increasing the communities hope and activity level.

I’ve seen others run their mowers , Then weed eat over those edges first to help with lighter shoveling ( like M&D in Texas) this was some work…you killed it though 👏🏻👏🏻- watching from Lake Wales, Florida

That edging like you were cutting through Jute rope. Excellent clean up. If that sewer cap says the name of that place, take a rubbing of it just in case they demolish the place. To many historical buildings being destroyed anymore.

No there’s a couple homes that were like it though! A lot of these older homes in Austin on the East side are very similar. Good eye though!

Great job. Tip: you can remove guard from edger and turn sideways. It works great as brush cutter.

First time viewer, THE volunteer trees up against the house should be cut down while small or they could grow and cause foundation problems. The old school tools ok if you can't replace them for newer ones but it really makes your job easier with the proper tools. Good Luck with your channel.

What are those thistles on the sidewalk? Even if I didn’t have the strength to get out there I find a way to cut down those, they’re horrible. Great job!👍🏻👍🏻

Thought i would tell you since kind of dumped on you in hope that you do better! Am watching from close in Houston Texas! Would help if you bought a cheap metal leaf rake! Lightweight leather gloves are 5 dollars a pair at Harbor Freight and your narrow scoop shovel also comes with a longer handle that saves the pain in lower back!

If you use the trimmer on the edges to shorten the grass, it wouldn't be so hard to use the edger.

Shears/trimmers are not the right tool for cutting green woody stems. You need Loppers, or long handled pruner.
They’re super thin so I just went with them. Great insight though so thank you!
