Dude, this was such a great story!!
Thanks Brian! I new a needed to tell a story as 20 laps down the same trail wouldn't cut it!
That lift is hilarious! So cool that you got out to race while you were there.
We actually raced an enduro while we were there as well, but I couldn't film it! We raced during a typhoon!
I feel like i'd bust my ass ad get dragged up that lift. lol
That course is very interesting. Technical in its own way. Being so short, the goal is no mistakes. Even a tiny one will cost you a second and a second on a 47 second course is HUGE. Good job!🤘
Mr Tonka I'm back on the bike hope to cross paths with you soon. I'm on a big honzo until I can afford my dream machine......
Hey Marvin! Glad to hear your back at it. Hope to see you soon! I've been riding Alafia and Carter a little more lately. :)
Always take the inside... because Sam Hill. 👍🏼
Haha, do I need flat pedals for that?
The people there seem so nice!! Looks like a great time for sure.
That was great. I was nervous for you, was worried your tires would wash out on you. Thanks for sharing.
They stuck! I think the grip went up as the weekend progressed
Love seeing international grass roots mtb races 👍
Glad your channel appeared in my suggested videos. Can't stop watching your work!
Thanks Nunal!
I'm watching this in 2020 and its crazy how much his videos have improved!
the nature is so beautiful
That was really interesting, love to see people around the world enjoy mountainbiking. Also that little guy with the bike helmet @12 minutes was really cute :)
It's a family even for sure! They've got a cool pump track at the bottom!
Congrats on the race results! Love the vids. 👍🏾 Keep up the great work!
Thanks Paul, it certainly was a fun one!
Great to see you thinking about your lines and tactics. Awesome!
I need to think about it more!
AWESOME! What a good place! It looks like the people is so kind, not like other places when you are in a competitive.
Yes, everybody was so friendly in Japan!
Great video Eric! Looks like an awesome MTB race scene in Japan.
Fair enough!
The mix of story and awesome filming! YES!
Congrats on killing that race, and gj not spilling it on the bike tow.
Hehe, thanks NW! I'll be focusing more on the story in future videos :)
Great Race! That view at the starting point was so beautiful!
It was quite beautiful there for sure!
I loved the video. I enjoyed your perspective on the race there in Japan. Seems like a really cool vibe, and the Japanese seem really friendly and open.
Basically as soon as we got there we were invited to a party! It was quite the event!
Here in the Philippines, we have similar lifts, except the bikes are tied to motorcycles instead of a rope that runs straight to the top.
i dont know why. but bcpovs videos always keep my full interest and its amaing he deserves more subs
That was cool! Reminded me of my local hill here in Finland which is about the same size. And that lift is genius
Hehe, the lift was fun! Better than pedaling up!
Love the background music choice and your Google earth animation production your a true professional all of your vids are so eye opening and you give great technical advice great job brooooo!!!
Wow! Such great fun and great people. Congrats on your first podium!
Can't believe this is my first time on your channel. loved this vid!
getting subscribed for sure!!
thanks for subbing franco! enjoy the vids!
Great story bro. And great riding out there !
Good work! Loved the pre and race day story of the video
Glad you liked it! Definitely had to tell the story, as showing 20 laps of the course wouldn't go over well! haha
Congrats on your first race my dude!
Thanks Myth!
I remember lifts like that at ski club fields in New Zealand like 20 years ago. Skier/Snowboarders wear a climbing style harness with that rope on it, clip onto the tow line and up you go. Locals called it a "Nutcracker" lift.
Haha, interesting. How would one unclip?
same way as it works in this vid?
Held the "nutcracker" clamp closed on the rope tow with your hand. When you got to the top ( or things went sideways), let go of the nutcracker and your're free from the line.
Principle seems similar, executed differently though. There were no lifties at the club fields to assist, you were on your own...
Just found your channel from the The Loam Ranger's channel, subbed and liked immediately. This is great content, gonna have to start binging you channel. Great job kid!
Thats awesome, thanks for watching MBA!
Very nice :D I am glad that you took the place on the podium. With a new bike it will only get better! Congratulations and good luck in the next competition! =)
Oh man! I need to go to Japan and ride there...maybe race as well! One day!!!
Awesome video BCpov!!! Keep it up and looking forward to more Japan trail videos!!!
Everybody should try it one day!
I'm planning to go next year. Would love to join you if you are going. :)
Way to go! You never fell going up the rope tow! Nice riding and fun event I am sure. Keep exploring!
That course looks like alot of fun
Nice job Eric!! Looks like fun...
Thanks Grant, it was definitely a lot of fun. A very unique experience!
Awesome video, looks like good times.
Good video and so impressed by that Calling. I really have to demo a Calling and a Following
The bike is actually a wreckoning!
Cool video.....no room for mistakes on that course. The locals seem so nice.
Have to be precise! Yes, everybody was super friendly!
Hello. I really like your video. I support you from Japan.
Thank you for watching! 🙏
this is why you use a hardtail for the first 1-3 runs so you can pick those juicy lines!
Looks super fun ! Thanks for the advice, will remember it if i go to japan with my bike :)
Definitely bring the bike!
Yesss lad, mint vid, u should do more races
Killed it great run!!
Thanks Marvin! After ride the course that many times I hope I got it pretty good!
Thats so awesome! Congrats!!
Thanks Eddie! Had a great time that weekend!
"Again ?.. Wow" ..Yuka is amazing
That’s such a chill track, it looks like so much fun but I’m 12 and I have to ride a pro race track and can’t ride like ride a easier track for the race. I guess theirs just gonna be a bunch of kids 14 and under trying to clean a double black diamond
That's a good point actually. This track is way more accessible than a full on dh track!
Wow congratulations, you nailed it !
lol gaijin I think is the term? Way to go on your first race!
You did an awesome job man you got good on the lines always in my thoughts and prayers throughout your travels your friend Keith from Asheville North Carolina
Good job!!! The rice is a great prize. :D
haha, i was so happy and surprised to have won the rice!
BCpov ha ha ha! mate you won a bag of rice! that's quite unique :)
Ya! I was surprised! I eventually gave it to Yuka's grandmother
Good luck today Eric on the new bike !
loved it! great race.
Thanks for watching TBB! Super fun out there!
I was just looking for some ramdom downhill clips and then im suprised that it was in our country LOL
I love mirin! so tasty!
Yes, I made a lot of videos in japan, it was great!
That looks like the perfect course to never touch your brakes lmao
Tell you what for elite class and getting 4th you did very well so don’t play it down, well done to ye fella 👍
Thanks Rhins! Lots of rippers out there!
im so thanks full for this Japan series cause im going to be in Japan the whole year and want to bring my Bike as well :)
That sounds super fun! Still a few more videos to come!
That country side is gorgeous
Very nice video, but when do we back to the real action, the van build ? :)
haha! we're working away at it!
Great video. I think here in America they should give you food if you make the podium as well.. like a box omaha steaks or something.
A friend of mine just got a sack of potatoes at an enduro in Pemberton!
BCpov Haha, that is awesome.
Wow ! Didnt know there we're MTB races in Japan.
Yea, there is a whole series for dh and another for Enduro!
that lift looks cool
hehe, it was a tricky one!
I think your supposed to sit on the podium until you get knocked off. Fun video. Congrats to both of you.
ERIKUUUUU!!!
Haha, gotta have the uuuuuuuuuu
haha ,good ride eriku!hope u win first next race.
welcome to kumamoto!!
I live in kumamoto
Thank you! I really enjoyed your city!
I enjoy your vids. I'm planning a mtb trip to Whistler this fall with some friends. Can you give me your short list of your must do trails outside the park? I saw Lord of the squirrels trail which looks good. Thanks and meepnip the great content.
It depends on your riding level. A lot of the trails are quite technical, but business time is a good one, am pm as well.
Green monster, cheap thrills if you can handle some double black.
BCpov thanks a lot. I'll look up those trails. I like to ride technical trails. A double black here in North Idaho is probably a blue in BC. We will spend a day or two in the park and a day or two outside the park.
Awesome vid ^^
Thanks for watching king rat!
how did you get such awesome action cam footage?!?!
like a snow tube lift
very interest Have a great buddy mtb in Japan
Not a Mega but really interesting especially from cultural point of view. Nice trail.
Yup, not a huge hill, but a pretty fun experience!
in my first dh race it rained like crazy an i broke one of my pedals in a crash after a HUGE drop...it was the funniest thing ever
haha, I hope you were okay after that! Sounds like you were :)
yeah i can still ride so i am fine :)
Yoku Ganbattane!
haha, I did my best!
New sub!!!!
Thanks for the sub rondre!
compared to the "normal" downhill racing ,thats basically just riding in your driveway..lol..but still looks fun..
Do it To it With mikieson the Speed makes it challenging
You might have "cheated" to get into the class, but at least you proved you were worthy!
Never really thought about MTB in Japan. What do you think about going to japan for a MTB gap year after I finish school?
I think it's a good idea. Japan is super fun and the riding is good :)
Dude, what a fun looking course. How'd it feel on the lower travel bike. (You rode on the calling right?)
I reckon this one would be good for hardtails, with minimum travel
You brought your bike over to Japan ?
1:18 ha ha that seems like such a bad idea!
Haha, it worked, but definitely a bit goofy!
五木のマンテンバイクパークもおすすめですよー😃
それはどこにありますか?
BCpov

です!!
So 4th as an elite, Where would that have put you if you rode in the proper class?
I would have been 2nd out of 40 in sport :)
So ya, kinda weird. the lower groups are much bigger.
BCpov i can see that being the case with the concept of must podium to move up. So i guess congrats on your 4th place and 2nd place finish haha
how do you like the Evil Wreckoning?
I like it! Easy to ride, quite plush!
BCpov I have a 2014 specialized Enduro. Thinking of switching up for the longer frame. I'm a tall guy 6'4. Could you compare between the two?
うますぎてやばいwww

Evil Wreckoning!
井本選手~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ヾ(*´∀`*)ノキャッキャハー
Not a very tough downhill course!
Not many rocks and roots! But the competition was tough for sure!
you have the most insane trails in your home country and choose to race in a grass course hahahah it a little bit ironic ... haha but i wish i could see those japanese faces on canadian tracks.... they would be out of their minds! cheers!
get a eDH bike skip that lift
got tired of hearing the announcer really quickly lmao.
Hahaha, it's definitely that Japanese style!
lol yeah, good run though going high on that corner made that run fast.
Thats not DH dude come on
It goes down hill and it's a single run!
No, no, no. Its not DH. What you have said 'it goes down hill' means that when my mum rides down a hill, she is effectively riding DH? :D
日本語訳ありがとう!👍
Thank you Japanese subtitles!!!🤣
私の妻は翻訳をやっている!
ゆかありがとう!
