- We are off for our Freediving Road trip around Australia! Because I can't really compete in freediving competitions for the next 6 - 12 months Erin, Ellie and I are going to see as much of Australia as we can and dive as much of Australia as we can.
We are taking our boat with us. The 'Ellie-Nautical' and we will be living in our tent. Our first stop is South West Rocks. I've always wanted to dive Fish Rock but I've just never had a chance to.

I remember the first time wearing my open cell suit. Putting it on wasn't an issue, but taking it off, I got stuck with it up over my head. I remember thinking "this it it, this is how i go out."🤣🤣🤣

Shark? That's the reason you dive at south West Rocks. The fish at fish rock are all on the other side in the shark gutter after you go through the cave.
That blue grouper is always on the outside, if you put your hand out he swims under it for a pat.

i’m really inspired by your videos and thinking about starting my own snorkling/freediving adventure. and i’m just wondering how much difference there is between 7mm and 9mm suits. I live waaaay North and will be diving in the Arctic Ocean where sea temperatures reach about 10 degrees C mid summer.

Really enjoying watching you, I stopped many years to dive but you inspire me again to go deep, not as much as you obviously ;) wanted to ask you, do you have any suggestions for underwater camera? Don't want to start a channel but just want to do nice video to share with my father that passed me the passion for diving when I was young, I live currently in an island with nice cave and spot to dive, Malta, hope you'll come one day so I can say thank you personally ;)
Edit: RUclips read my mind and suggested your video for the camera so unless you have additional suggestions for cave for example, you have answered already with the video ;)

Did you guys plan out the suit colours in advance - it's like an underwater version of the power rangers ;) (Great location down there, thanks for giving useful location tips too - so hard to go places when so many people are doing the "we don't tell locations, if you know you know" )
hahaha yeah it's a classic boating thing to not give out locations. But I never saw the point of it. Oh and the power ranger suits was a bit of serendipity! it worked perfectly!

funny how Erin feels danger more now, must be an evolved response to keep mothers alive for their children, I remember at the birth of my first that all my luck had gone and I shouldnt take any more risks.

I need HELP
I'm new to freediving. When I put on my open cell an enter the water I get sea/motion sickness. I get this when I'm on a boat as well ( well this is the common one)
Why am I getting sick with my suit?

Maybe your hood is sealing of your ears? - does it also happens when you're not wearing a hood?
Solution: put a 5mm cord over your ears around your head underneath your hood. This will create space in between your ears and hood allowing water and air to seep in. If this solves the problem you can use a marker and hot needle to melt a 1 or 2mm hole in the hood to allow water in.
This could be from the claustrophobia the wetsuit is causing?
You probably getting motion sickness from floating on the surface to long especially in choppy South African sea's.
