    What is gonna happen with the Wheelock LED3 Exceeders? Are they gonna be discontinued in favor of Wheelock Eluxa? .or the LED3 Exceeders gonna coexist with Wheelock Eluxa?

      They will more than likely be discontinued as they do not meet NFPA 72 2016.

    Are the Exceders being discontinued in favor of the Eluxa series appliances? The indoor SpectrAlert Advance appliances were discontinued in 2017 and replaced by the L Series appliances.

    "With nearly a century of fire alarm experience..." Eaton, keep in mind that you're only the owner of Wheelock, therefore THEY are the ones with the near-century of experience, not you. Don't take the credit because that's rude.
    On another note, the ceiling mount Eluxa devices look a GREAT deal like System Sensor Spectralert Advance ceiling mount devices. Expect a probable lawsuit from System Sensor sometime in the future for plagiarism.
    Odd lens design on the ceiling mount devices, though I assume that's to help distribute the light properly.
    1:28 Couldn't even take the time to properly align the strobe VFX with the actual strobes huh?
    1:50 Okay now that's just being boastful.
    2:09 Again, being boastful about your own product, & on top of that: have you even TESTED these products to make sure they LIVE UP to these claims?
    While these devices do look interesting, are they really any better than the current Wheelock LED Exceder series?

    • @Fahrenheit4051
      @Fahrenheit4051 3 года назад +6

      Companies do tend to boast about their own products - it's called advertising. These devices MUST be tested in order to gain UL approval, so of course they're going to get tested.
      System Sensor cannot sue for plagiarism, only patent infringement. The "UFO" aesthetic is not patent-protected, and many devices use that style including the original Genesis, the Amseco Select-A-Horn/Strobe, and the Commander4 (kind of).
      If you're going to dunk on Eaton for taking credit for over 100 years of experience, then no company should get credit since the founding members are all dead. You can still keep a tradition alive, and that's what they're alluding to.
      It's fine if you don't like the design itself. I personally think it would've been nice if they updated the body style a bit instead of just the lens.

    • @TheCarson116
      @TheCarson116 3 года назад

      @@Fahrenheit4051 Well still: I don't think I've ever heard ANY company boast about their own product(s) quite like in this video.
      That's another one that looks nearly IDENTICAL to Spectralert ceiling-mount devices: the Amseco Select-A-Horn/Strobe, though that one doesn't really matter since they no longer make it. Sure the "UFO" aesthetic is not patent protected, but I'm sure most companies patent the exact design of their devices, & I'm fairly certain that if another company's device looks too similar to theirs, then they CAN sue. (that's what Wheelock did some years ago with Siemens, even though from what I can tell there was no resemblance either way)
      Well still, I'm sure WHEELOCK's employees have been designing & developing their own products, not Eaton. Eaton only owns them, but despite that THEY'RE the ones taking credit for WHEELOCK's experience!
      I'm not so much saying I don't like them as is there really any need for them when Wheelock already has a line of LED devices? (thus redundancy)

    • @Fahrenheit4051
      @Fahrenheit4051 3 года назад +2

      @@TheCarson116 They're not redundant, they're replacing the LED Exceders.
      I'm not entirely sure on the details of the Wheelock vs. Siemens case, but if you compare the U-MCS with the RSS, you can probably see the similarities in both design and function. System Sensor doesn't use LEDs and the mounting method for the Eluxa is completely different from the L-Series.
      Thinking about it a bit more, I will admit that saying "Eaton has 100 years of experience" does sound a bit weird when they just bought Wheelock a few years ago. It would be like Amazon buying McDonald's and saying they now have over 60 years of fast food experience - kind of, but no.
