You're my favorite zero waste youtuber! You're very humble and you don't judge people who can't adjust completely to this lifestyle, you just give us tips and inspire us to do our best with your own exemples. You were the only one I actually related to! Never stop making videos!
Definitely I completely agree! I feel like this is the only way to get a bigger majority of people to actually be conscious and live a life of care and consideration that extends further than just themselves!
The only bulk bins I've seen is the glorified pick n mix at Holland & Barrett shops. Haha. I love that you emphasise "*trying your best*" instead of "do this or you fail as a person" like I've seen elsewhere. This was very encouraging. :3
Our garden consists of aloe, mango, key lime, potato, and pot of course lol. Our neighbors have valencia oranges which we can trade for, and our other neighbors have avocado and banana right on our property lines so we share them x:
+Lithostoic oh my god the absolute dream!! Sounds absolutely incredible. I am enjoying Mexico so much because the food is local and fresh which makes it so much more delicious!!
I've recently got a really cute reusable bag, went vegan about a year ago, and growing a fruit and veggie garden this summer! Also got a compost and its going great!
It used to be difficult to remember bringing a jar for me, but now, it truly is a way of life. Excellent. 2 things: 1.My friends made a pact to end plastic bag use (they aren't 0waste) 2. I walked in my friend's washroom, found a bamboo toothbrush! Turns out, we inspire those around us to reduce. Even my family is picking up!!
i'd love to give my own piece of advice for people who live in countries where recycling is hard. i live in romania where only about 3% of our yearly waste is recycled. i simply cant trust any firms to not take my plastic and paper and throw it in the landfill instead, so i started using as less packaging as possible. i also live in a gardenless building and have no room for composting and i unfortunately cant do that either, but i try to put all of my food scraps into a small bucket and empty it into garbage bins instead of using a garbage bag, so i can avoid plastic even more. i just rinse out my bucket afterwards and let it dry. when i buy things that i cant make by myself, such as non-dairy yogurt, i try to think about how i could reuse the cup. i plan on using them to grow my own herbs in the future, too. but the important thing is to always always try to improve how you live
I live by myself in an 700sqft apartment. Currently eating 95% plant-based now, and currently just storing all my scraps in the freezer. But now it's to the point of overflow because I have no where to put it. So far I have only tried listing my food scraps for free on apps like OfferUp and sites like Craiglist, to see if anyone who gardens or composts would be willing to take them off my hands. And in these posts, I'd say stuff like how I'm wanting to reduce my waste, return resources back to the earth.. yada yada, and mention the zero waste movement, ect. ect. I have found only one person. But she is not willing to come to my location as of yet. And I would go to her, but the thing is that I ride a bike and she is 20 mins away. So a round trip is 40 mins. I don't know if I think it's worth it tbh. Don't know what to do. Should I stress over the fact of trying to find a compost solution, or just toss it all in the trash?
In Sweden we have a rule that says that the cashiers have to ask us if we need a plastic bag, and at the checkouts there are signs on the counter that asks you if you really need a bag, and more information under that. In most grocery stores they’ve begun to sell bags made from recycled materials and they are bigger than in America so you don’t need as many. You are so inspirational
I try to explain about why not to use plastic. People were saying how they could recycle plastic bags.... And I have to tell them that plastic recycle up until they cannot be recycled. I've had a little bit of a hiccup with plastic but I've try to use the container as much as possible. Not perfect but trying.... Thanks for your channel.
Vicky Jansen I didn't even realize you couldn't recycle plastic all the time until I looked it up and my city won't recycle plastic bags. Now that I know, I'm like NO PLASTIC BAGS. Do you have an opinion on companies like Dr Bronners or something that says they use all recycled plastic for their packaging? Like do you think that's legit?
No one is perfect and you shouldn't worry about that! All you can do is try your best with the resources you have! Not everyone is lucky enough to have access to the things that I do, and that gives a false image that Zero Waste is easy! Keep going you're doing great :)
hi, thank you so much for the video, Im from Mexico and sometimes i feel alone because people here doesnt like to recicle or trying to meke less weste, and your videos make me feel better😄🍀🌿
Maria Espinoza where abouts are you from? I am currently travelling in Quintana Roo / Yacatan! I have found that people are quite recycling conscious where I have been so far and have been surprised with the vegan options too!
At pretty much all grocery stores I know in my country you have to either buy prepackaged vegetables and fruits or you have to but loose fruits and vegetables in plastic baggies they have and then weight it and then put a sticker with the price on the baggy (so you also need a separate bag for each type of fruit or vegetable). You're not even allowed to put everything in one bag because of the separate weighing and I'm pretty sure if you put it in a different bag they'd think you were stealing them :/
Excellent resource! Love the idea of encouraging people to participate in a sustainable lifestyle even if it's not going to look like what we're used to seeing as a zero waste standard (as with access to bulk). 👍
Discovered your Channel a few days ago, and want to thank you for all your useful tips and realistic-progress attitude. I've been watching videos and reading books and blogs about zero waste over the last few years, but more recently have ramped up the time and my thinking about this topic. Something clicked today, in part due to a number of your videos that I watched over the last few days, and feel that I've made a big leap -- both in my thinking and my action -- towards a more zero-waste life. I was super excited today to take more circular-economy steps that will contribute to a more sustainable planet. Thanks so much for taking the time to make these videos and share them with us. cheers
Such a helpful video! I'm such a fan of making things like zero waste and veganism accessible to people who may not have the resources or the time to go all the way. I'm already working on transitioning to zero waste and this video is super helpful on things to prioritize to get started. Thanks again!! PS I've been following you for a little bit now after some of my viewers suggested I check you out for zero waste resources and I LOVE your videos!
I'm now binge watching all of your videos because you guys are actually so great...and now stalking you on insta haha! Thank you for your support and your engagement with the community! The best piece of advice I can give you is to evaluate what you waste everyday and learn from that to help you understand what small daily changes you can make which will in turn create a huge impact! So glad you commented, I am now a subscriber of yours too!
Sustainably Vegan Oh my gosh thank you!! I'm glad you like our stuff! Super good advice. We've been figuring out how to be vegan first and I feel like we have almost figured it out enough to really start implementing more zero waste strategies in our lives (other than not using plastic bags). Your channel is so accessible and helpful to beginners, and I really appreciate that so much - I think it's really needed if more people are going to be intentional about wasting less! 💛💛💛
This might be one of the most helpful videos you've done, as many of us don't in fact have access to bulk bins. Thank you so much for always encouraging everyone with a positive attitude! Much love
Greetings from Turkey! I'm a beginner on zero waste lifestyle and really learning a lot from your videos! Thank you! My parents really love growing flowers and they have more than 100 houseplants. I'll try to direct them growing vegetables instead of flowers bcs it seems helpful for the kitchen drain!
Really like this video cos bulk bins are a rarity it the UK. One thing to add would be ordering online for large quantities (for things like oats, beans, dried fruit.) You can get them in 10 or 5kg sacks, and even when they come in plastic one big bag is more useful than loads of little packets.
I really really like your videos, and I really respect the fact that not only do you do this amazing thing for the environment, but that you’re also so humble about it and aren’t a jerk to anyone who isn’t perfect. I really want to try to do this once I grow up (I’m a minor). Keep making cool videos!
This is a great basic guide! Crazily enough there is no proper zero waste/bulk shop in Amsterdam (a few stores have a few things, but the bags they provide often have plastic so I'll need to make my own) as far as I've been able to find, but this will allow me to at least get started while I'm working on linen bulk bags and stuff!
I really love your balanced approach to this way of life. I am only just starting and sometime I get overwhelmed by all that I want to do but also discouraged by the lack of resources in my area (Oceanside, CA). Your tips inspire me to keep going
Honestly I wouldn't have developed my love for cooking without veganism/zero waste. I live in a small town and, vegan is still a major taboo word; zero waste isn't even in the vocabulary.
Help! How can I compost for a family that eats a toooonn of food without attracting flies or smelling bad? We even bought a fancy compost bin for like 60 dollars and now my mom won't let me use it because of the fore mentioned problems.
Love your videos so much , i am now starting my journey as a minimumlist and zero waste , thank you for your advice and thoughts keep up the good work.
Love all of your videos and vegan message💛I am a minimalism and zero waste newbie and your input really helps. Thank you so much, keep up the good work!
Oh could you please please please do a video on how you grow your food in a flat? What do you grow, what containers do you use, what are your tips to make it succeed? Thank you so much for your videos, you're inspiring me to reduce my waste as much as possible :) The world sure could do with less of it..
This is silly of me but I just looooovvee gardein faux meat products (their packaging isnt even recylable!) and it would be really hard for me to give them up! What do I do?!
Just try and reduce the amount that you're eating of it and work on other things that are easier to give up! You can also look into making similar things yourself?
Can you do a planting video? I like in an area where mould/damp is everywhere. My plants keep dying because of it, but I really would like to grow my own food.
i make my overnight oats with fruit the night before and i now ask for my sushi put in a paper bag not a plastic container. also some health food places spend extra money on biodegradable boxes which cost more for the business. I know vantra in london lunch boxes are biodegrsdable.
I'm new at trying to reduce waste/plastic use. Sometimes I prefer to freeze extra veggies I have - do you have any suggestions on what I can use instead of the plastic freezer bags?
Hello! thanks for your videos, they're very informative! I also live in a tiny flat in London and I'm transitioning to a vegetarian/vegan diet- minimalist lifestyle, It's hard but not impossible:) I'm also starting to grow herbs and other lil plants indoors so any advice on that would be very appreciated:) thanks!
Those small herb plants from the super market are not meant to last. Maybe when you have real green fingers you can do it, but mostly, even if you replant is in a better container it's made to not last. Go to a garden center and get some herb plants there, those are made to last.
Thank you for the inspiration! I don't really like the term 'zero waste'.. it seems a bit all or nothing, love your attitude towards it though, I am trying my best :) BUT THERE IS PLASTIC EVERYWHERE!!

hahaha love it! Thank you for watching, really glad this has gotten such positive feedback !
Olivia Bohannon agreed! I have a video all about busting the myth of "all or nothing" thinking about sustainability. :)
could you do a video on growing things/gardening in a tiny flat?
Definitely, sounds like a great idea!
The annoying thing about U.K. Supermarkets is that all the organic food is packaged and the non organic food is loose!!
Definitely need a 'garden' tour of everything you're growing please! I too live in a small city apartment and need some growing advice. Thanks lovely
Ah ok cool sounds good!

No problem

YES! i've been waiting for someone to make a video like this because bulk buy places where i live is actually more expensive and it's very rare too!
I live in a tiny town, with only a Walmart. This video helped me so much.

Thank you so much for these videos! I'm new to this lifestyle slowly but surely making a difference!
Love your videos so much , i am now starting my journey as a minimumlist and zero waste , thank you for your advice and thoughts keep up the good work.
another one that people don't consider often, is eat in at cafes etc not take away, because then you can tell them to use reusable mugs and plates
Love all of your videos and vegan message💛I am a minimalism and zero waste newbie and your input really helps. Thank you so much, keep up the good work!
this helps me so much as where i live there is no access to but bins thank you so much

My local co-op had these cute little reusable bags that fold up really small and clip right onto your keychain!
+Ciara1211 they are great! I've seen some of those too
Early morning inspiration for me :-) Thank you.
Thank you for always being here

at tesco you have to offer one, it's part of the job you're marked on
Herbs, lettuces, tomatoes all grow amazing well in 12-inch containers!
Thank you for the tips! ❤️ I try to buy organic but the food is always in plastic to separate it from the "normal" food...
+cocosapps yeah it's a nightmare! Just do the best you can and don't be too hard on yourself!
Can you do a planting video? I like in an area where mould/damp is everywhere. My plants keep dying because of it, but I really would like to grow my own food.
I would love a video on what you grow in your garden.
how to compost in a tiny apartment?
Great tips, thank you so much and have a sunny day, Lovely 💞
I love these videos! So much help :)
Yay thank you!
I love your videos! Been watching a lot of them
i make my overnight oats with fruit the night before and i now ask for my sushi put in a paper bag not a plastic container. also some health food places spend extra money on biodegradable boxes which cost more for the business. I know vantra in london lunch boxes are biodegrsdable.
Oh wow amazing! thanks for letting me know!
I'm new at trying to reduce waste/plastic use. Sometimes I prefer to freeze extra veggies I have - do you have any suggestions on what I can use instead of the plastic freezer bags?
Definitely agree with the an eco-friendly diet!
I love this :) My life plan is to create a sustainable farm for all of my own food once I settle down (if I can ever stop traveling!)
I did my first bulk shop at Whole Foods in Glasgow (the bulk section is small) at the weekend which was exciting. 😁
haha yes I remember my first bulk bin shopping experience and it was so much fun!
You voice is so soothing and nice to listen to.
Hello! thanks for your videos, they're very informative! I also live in a tiny flat in London and I'm transitioning to a vegetarian/vegan diet- minimalist lifestyle, It's hard but not impossible:) I'm also starting to grow herbs and other lil plants indoors so any advice on that would be very appreciated:) thanks!
do you have any tips for growing veg in a small flat?? I would looooove to learn more about that
Awesome tips! Much needed reminder that zero waste is a way of life and not a numbers game :)
Those small herb plants from the super market are not meant to last. Maybe when you have real green fingers you can do it, but mostly, even if you replant is in a better container it's made to not last. Go to a garden center and get some herb plants there, those are made to last.
I live in Portland they have a ton of things to help u go zero waste
Thank you for the inspiration! I don't really like the term 'zero waste'.. it seems a bit all or nothing, love your attitude towards it though, I am trying my best :) BUT THERE IS PLASTIC EVERYWHERE!!
+Emily Rolfe the best is all we can do! I know and it's so depressing but by making better choices we'll we encouraging others to do the same!
Hey ! I'm trying to live according to the zero waste lifestyle and I love your "do your best" philosophy. My struggle is that vegan products as vegan nuggets or steaks, etc. are usually in plastic packages, and I don't have the time to cook such products at home, do you have a tip for this issue ? Thanks ! :)
l love your videos. Thank you for what you do!
Hi just wondering if you have any tips on where I could get hair conditioner that's not in a plastic bottle?
Proud vegan of 3 years and I love saving animals as well as resources ❤️
+aly yaaaaaas!! ❤️
Herbs here come in plastic pots with plastic wrapping around them
Hey! Thanks for your video.
How do you composte living in a flat in London? What do you do next? Thank you xoxo
Also (don't know if she said this) sort your trash. Were I live we can put plastik in a special trash and it gets recycled.
Can you compost cotton buds that have paper stems?? I keep getting conflicting answers for this im getting really confused!
:(
Kylrana I compost the ones with paper stems and bamboo stems depending on what I have. But it does depend on what you've used it for. A bit of ear wax is fine. Check out the website "can I compost this" for more specific info on cotton buds and much much more.

Your voice is so soothing❤
you have a beautiful voice!
What do you freeze things in?
This is my first video from you and I already subscribed
Im in very beginning of zero waste journey and we are a family of 6, do you have any recipes that are kid friendly.
This is so so helpful!
LOL glad I watched until the very end 😄
in my country all organic fruits and vegetables are packed in plastic :( its so bad because you can either buy organic OR plastic free :(
How do you compost in an apparetment..?!
You are so delightful!
+Tine Verstraelen haha thanks!
I was wondering where to buy noodles when I don't have acess to bulk stores.. What do you do about that?
Unfortunately I don't buy them anymore, only ever have them at restaurants!
Great tips!
You've got amazing skin!
i really like the video because it's not "DO IT" more like "just try your best without changing your life from one day to another".
what i think it also important try to buy organic, local, vegan and/or fair trade clothes. so you don't support synthetic fibres where it's not necessary and all the bad and cheap working places all around the world.
Your voice is so soothing.
Do you make your own eyeliner? What brand is it?
+AE Language School no not yet, at the moment I use Bare Minerals make up because of their ethical practices!
Oh cool! Thanks for replying and keep up the good work :}
you curl or snarl your lip up a lot lol, I've noticed that, but I love this channellll
but I can't help it?
It is so cute
What??!! Plastic can only be recycled ONCE?
Also bring your own cup to the coffee shop.
+Ilona Dobi yes that's a great way to reduce waste!!
