Helicopter Emergency Medical Services Experience: Wisconsin | The Future of EMS

Air ambulances are an unique component of prehospital care that are often utilized to provide time-sensitive advanced specialty transport for critically ill and injured patients. Drawing on experiences as a flight physician in both the US and UK systems, this discussion will present the history and current state of US Air Ambulance Services, some of the challenges our system is currently facing, and the emerging role of the prehospital physician in US air ambulance services.
