A little tweak for your upstairs hallway would be to replace the ponywall with the same railing as is downstairs on either side as of the stairs. It would really open up and add great value to your home. It's a fairly small span, so I don't think the railing would be very expensive either. It would also greatly increase air flow and light into the hallway.
Beautiful!!! Amazing how much brighter it looks😮. You scared me on the ladder over the stairs. My husband fell off one ended up surgery and many broken bones. Anyway another awesome transformation!!!
My husband fell off of a fork lift that was raised to 8ft high. He fell of the prongs of it as he is a fork lift mechanic. He fell down and hit his head. He had to have emergency brain surgery to the speech center of his brain and 8 months later, he is in a coma as he began having back to back seizures at the end of Dec. I hope your husband is ok. I will pray for him.
What an Incredible transformation of the upstairs hallway, I love it! Your attention to the little details is what really makes everything look Professional.. But wait , I think that You already are. What an inspiration you are to us all.. 🙌
GIRL!!!! You’re some kind of bada$$!! First of all just even building the beams, figuring out how to hang them was enough. That you hung them YOURSELF was like, DAAAYUUM! Also it took my breath way with you on the ladder hanging over those stairs. 😮 The hall looks so good! Good job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Beautiful job! I bet your husband comes home every day trying to guess what the house will look like when he walks in today! He must be so proud of you
This looks great! I think you're my favorite Home update DIY YT channel! I appreciate your attention to detail, it helps me remember to go around and finish all of my "almost done" projects...which I literally spend today doing.
You’re absolutely right Kelsey, it’s the attention to details that makes a project a win. The hallway makeover is beautiful; love all the contrast and colors. Nicely done!
Kelsey, fantastically done!!! Never give up, never surrender!!! The 13:34 mark was soooo satisfying. It's so true about the small details that finish a project off. Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!
100%! The finishing details would drive me insane if I didn’t do them- that’s why I’d rather do things myself. I hired painters once and they were probably ready to kill me.
Wow!!!!!!!! What a gorgeous transformation! I love love love the beams. Would you consider a matching light fixture to hang over the stairs to match the gold ceiling fixtures upstairs. Also I think the post upstairs would look gorgeous covered and stained to match the ceiling beams. You are a talented lady!!!
What a wonderful job!!! It turned out so beautifully Kelsey! I love how you just tackle all the projects with confidence. You aren’t afraid to learn along the way and share your struggles as well! I am a new watcher and just really enjoy your personality and confidence!
Fantastic finished project! Love all the touches. It was also nice to live vicariously through you/your house as we delt with yet another sewage seepage thanks to bad city pipes at our own.
Morbid, True crime all the time & true crime all the time unsolved, moms and murder, two girls one ghost, redhanded, National Park after dark. These are my favorites! Love all your videos and now even more excited knowing u listen to crime podcasts like me!
I am so amazed at the overall transformation. It's so welcoming and eye appealing. The Brick and the Beams are fabulous. And your lighting choices are excellent. Great Job...you little perfectionist You! Beauty!!! Cathleen
So amazingly awesome! Girl, you scare me, I had to look away when you were on that ladder. Please be careful. Your work and dedication is amazing. Enjoy your home 🏡
Wow, absolutely beautiful 😍 🤩 You definitely nailed it. I love how the accent wal and the beams look so good together. I will say scared me hanging over the steps like that. 😬🫨🤯 You did awesome , God bless and stay safe 🙏 ❤️
Okay, so you sitting on that ladder over the stairs had me holding my breath! Made me nervous, but you just sat there grabbing big ol’beams and nailing them to the ceiling! 😂. Great job! The hallway flows with the rest of the house and has such character!
Amazing! It looks so awesome! The finishing touches, as you said, does make all the difference! I was a wee bit scared for you on the ladder though...LOL! Have an amazing week!
Thanks! Usually nothing surprises my husband but he came home from work prepared to help me put up the beams and was shocked that I got them up by myself. He said “good job baby” which is as excited as he gets about any of my projects 🤣🤣
It turned out beautiful. I love the beams. I'll admit...I was sweating in fear a bit when you were laying on the ladder to get them up over the open stairway...eek! I'm sure you and your family are enjoying how the hall turned out. Great job!
Looks amazing girl!!! I love starting projects and my husband gets antsy and takes over 😂😂 I guess I make him nervous 😂 Love the green sweater!!! Made your eyes pop … thanks for sharing!!
Amazing job! After reading the comments, I'm glad I'm not the only one who was totally nervous for you when you were installing the beams over the stairs!! 😂
Very nice, it looks good. I really like the brick wall and the beams, such a great idea. Nicely Done! Suggestion: I have the exact same attic access as you do. Over the winter I had some work done on my heater/air handle which is in my attic. AC guys suggested that I insulate the access door panel, mine is the same as yours, just ceiling tile material. I watched a few You Tube videos on ways to insulate the access door and the majority are recommending - Rigid Foam Board. Suggesting several layers, glued together so it has some weight to it so it compresses down on the weather stripping. Weather stripping applied around the rim for the door panel to rest on to seal any possible leaks. It's on my list of projects for later this spring. Not only will it help with the heat and feeling drafty in the winter, it will help with the AC with our hot humid summers here in Florida. Just thought I'd share the tips. This is one of the videos I watched - ruclips.net/video/R-63b-tKqNo/видео.html
Such a beautiful transformation! Definitely worth the wait! Everything looks so beautiful and flows so perfectly! Love how everything turned out! I have to say, I was a little worried and scared for you; when you were on the ladder. I know are really happy and proud of this makeover! Thanks for sharing! 😊
That turned out soo good! I love the faux beams. What kind of ladder is that? It scares the crap out of me when you are up that high but the ladder looks sturdy. Great job!
Oh my goodness, you knocked this hallway makeover out of the park, it is so warm and your finish work looks professional. Definitely liked the idea of you cutting into the drywall when inserting the beams for more of an authentic look such a good move on your part. So glad I found you as your videos are interesting and inspirational. Thanks for sharing.🏡
What an amazing difference! Every single detail is perfect. Just gorgeous... I have to admit that it scares the crud out of me when you go over the stairs on the ladder! Thanks for sharing this with us, and can't wait to see what you do next. ❤
The is a show on Ovation channel, Miss Fisher Murder Mystery the image the use looks a lot like the character on the tv show. This is the first video I’ve seen of yours in awhile I have not seen any videos of my favs for some reason glad to see you❤

You should be more than proud of yourself! Brilliant design!
Thanks! I was pretty proud of myself when I got the beams up by myself.

🤣🤣 it’s probably hard to tell but the ladder is wedged in between the two walls so I felt way more secure than when I’m outside on the ladder.
Yayy. My Kelsey fix!
You are a brave, brave woman!! Love the entire makeover!
Thank you so much!
Kelsey, it's beautiful! I am not surprised... you always make it look so easy.
