You butchered the quote, since you've clearly never actually read Aristotle's works. The exact quote Vinnie pulled his line from is *"Whosoever is delighted in solitude, is a wild beast or a God."* Which summarized just implies that absolute solitude from any outside interaction will either bring you to Godhood or reduce you to a monster void of humanity. The latter is more often the case since most men cannot go without social interactions and succumbing to desires of the flesh. It's almost impossible to abstain from humanity when you yourself are a fragment of it. But few can rise above it, while most will destroy themselves trying. Sometimes it's safer to just accept it and submit to the fact you're just a man. Never becoming much, but never losing what you already have.

It's all fake and when your friends are blowing in the wind and you haven't seen people for years you do what you can to try to find a wife , kids , friends, and it's all a huge distraction from the real true happiness. Very deep song on many levels. The best hip hop song ever created.
kxng_Naki I think so
This song is straight art. Perfectly represents the pain of isolation.
I always come back to this.
I, I who have nothing
Intersections in real time
The unbroken circle and dimensions of the mind
The tie that binds
The eternal tie that defines
The vanity of my insanity in due time
Will shine
Like the night seas under the moon
The haunted corners of familiar rooms
Yet I'm consumed
We're vanishing into thin air
The realization that this shit is my cross to bear
So where
Did I think I could run away to see
The people that decided to leave without asking me
But we
Decide to wait for happier tomorrows
And find someone so they can be distractions from our sorrow
But my distractions the books of paper that I scrawl in
I'm eloquent as summer breeze and leaves that have just fallen
I've crawled in a corner hoping all of this will end
With the knowledge that love is just another word for revenge
I who have nothing but the comfort of my sins
I who have nothing but the comfort of my friends
I, I who have nothing
I, I who have no one
I, I who have nothing
I, I who have no one
As I decay, demons prey above me like a vulture
Ability to endure contradiction is a high sign of culture
Verbal sculptures, self defacing
It is not God or lunacy that I am facing
But the erasing of the purity and passion of my words
The herds of cattle babble on with talk of the absurd
But I preferred
To walk away from all the feuds
To find my life is more confusing than a rubic's cube
So I'm subdued
In all my words of verbal prods
To live alone one must be an animal or a God
But it's official
All of my pain is clear as crystal
The natural side of life has now been seeming artificial
But I can hit you
And rest assured that I'mma last words
I could give a fuck about ya secrets and ya past words
I can pass words and their ability to hurt you
Patience is a virtue and knowledge is of commercial
I who have nothing but the pain that I refer to
I who have nothing but the pain that I've refered to
I, I who have nothing
I, I who have no one
I, I who have nothing
I, I who have no one
Lost among the miracles, I stand alone
And I've grown into a being that's sitting on top a throne
I've known
For many years that I would turn to rust
I find a reason for another breath
Before my return to dust
I become one with science and mathematics and the rising of the sun
I'm numb
To all of those who blind and cannot see
The chastiser of the enemy
Perception requires duality
Inspect ya soul, the color of coal inside the body
I have hardly come across them who's holy
Send them to the cherubim to control thee
Burning of the sun and frigidness of the cold
The battlefield is new but the war is now old
You can never see the merest shadow of a halo
Above the head of evil djin who's deadly like tornado
The world has become an aquarium
Full of gaping fish with murderous smiles
I on the other hand stand on the outside looking in
Writing down murderous files
I who have nothing but the lack of variation
And I who have nothing but chains and suffocation
Thank you, my favourite song of all time and I just now realize it's perception not deception. Lol

It's definitely "I who have known" not I who have no one.

lol good thing i am not the only one

Michael Ritchie their entire debut album from 1997 and the Amber Probe EP from 1996 are fucking golden but hella underrated
I think I listened to this about a hundred times in a row. Awesome!
I'm almost 50 yrs old and I love JMT! I can relate to a lot of their music.
Still after all this time it's still my favourite song in the world.
Don''t think it will ever change.
I’s it still your favorite?
@@isaac2bands Yeah it is, why would it change in 3,5 years?

One of the absolute GREATEST Emcee's of all time! No ?!
Criminally underrated song and band. I love how JMT uses orchestration. The lyric "There comes a time in every man's life when he's got to handle shit on his own" just rips!
Their beats with army of the Pharoah are some the best for me. Some guys just got it.

Saw them perform in '99-00 at University show. Picked up the Violent by Design album later in early '01 around January
The Fluoride In my water makes me forget about conscious hip hop.

Here in ''the watermountains'' of Europe, the alps, we've spring water direct from nature.
no fluoride in the ground water but in bottles they put flouride.

I was admittedly never the biggest fan of Jedi Mind but I've always thought this track was a masterpiece. The references in this one are deep! I smiled when I first heard the Aristotle and Nietzsche references.

Some of what he said also is quoted from books or citations from people, but he does arrange them in such a good way.
I, I who have nothing...
[Verse I: Ikon]
Intersections in real time
The umbro can circle in dimensions of the mind
Atomic bonds
The eternal time that defines
The vanity of my insanity in thru time
Will shine
Like the night seeds under the moon
The haunted corners of familiar rooms
Yet i'm consumed
With vanishing into thin air
The realization that this shit is my cross to bare
So where
Did I think I could run away to see
The people that decided to leave without asking me
But we
Decide to wait for happier tomorrows
And find someone so they can be distractions from our sorrows
For my distractions the books of paper that i've scrawlened
I'm eloquent in summer breeze and leaves just have fallen
I crawl in a corner hoping all of this will end
With the knowledge that love is just another word for revenge
I who have nothing but the comfort of my sins
I who have nothing but the comfort of my friends
[Chorus:]
I, I who have nothing
I, I who have no
I, I who have nothing
I, I who have no
[Verse II: Ikon]
As I decay, demons prey above me like a vulture
Ability to endure contradiciton is a high sign of culture
Verbal sculptures, self defacing
It is not God or lunacy that I am facing
But the erasing of the purity and passion of my words
The herds of cattle babble on with talk of the absurd
But I preferred
To walk away from all the feuds
To find my life is more confusing than a rubic's cube
So i'm subdued
In all my words of verbal prods
To live alone one must be an animal or a God
But it's official
All of my pain is clear as crystal
The natural side of life has now been seeming artificial
But I can hit you
And rest assured that i'ma last words
I could give a fuck about ya secrets and ya passwords
I can pass words with the ability to hurt you

Makes more sense and rhymes better with "files"

Sorry sun, 'i' ain't tryin' to lampoon u, but there's far to many errors in "your" lyrics. *Scrawlened? It's "scrawl in." "Past words, not passwords."* & as my compeer M3zk stated, it's murderous "smiles" -- not mouths.

But we decide to wait for happier tomorrows, and find someone so they can be distractions for our sorrows."
That is soo deep on so many levels it's crazy. It's all fake and when your friends are blowing in the wind and you haven't seen people for years you do what you can to try to find a wife , kids , friends, and it's all a huge distraction from the real true happiness. Then there's the line about "as I decay demons circle me like vultures... I who have nothign but the comfort of my sins" It's too deep. I didn't wanna think this deep right now lol.
I keep listening to this song over and over. Something about his lines sounds so good.
