i would want to see how it perform when it detect motion in the back of the vehicle, does it turn itself or not ?
License plate clarity in this review looks relatively WONDERFUL compared to most other dashcams.
i have the A800S and its just as good, id say it has bonus of an actual rear cam
The most anticipated in the camera is its ability to guard the car 24/7, also a very important feature in it is lane tracking. I really look forward to it in my use, the developers have great respect for their work.

8:50 One of the major drawbacks I can see is the lack of multi-directional filming. Meaning, if the camera is pointed forwards, there isn't a rear view. Likewise, if the camera is pointing towards the interior of the car, there won't be any forward-facing footage. What would be the best solution here?
Get another camera that comes with front and rear camera. That's solve the problem

I brought two Vantrue cameras to do what you are saying. I use the front two cameras on the side windows. The rear cameras are in the front and rear window.. The rear camera's work pretty good at night. The idea is to capture accidents/damages that happen on the side of the car.
How much heat can it withstand, like if the car is parked in the sun on a 40 degree celsius day for hours?
Capturing number plates is the biggest seller for me, how does it go collecting them when im going 110kmph one way and the on coming traffic are doing the same?
You need to be able to zoom in on a recorded clip if needed to get that plate and get that information in my opinion.
They promise great temperature tolerance.
As for plates visibility - I feel that it is good with this dashcam.
Thank you. I bought a viofo dash cam which now can view number plates at night when your headlights normally blur them because they're too bright. Pretty cool. I often wondered when this would be fixed.
I would prefer to say "Film Left" for when the police stops you. Saying "Shoot Left" isn't really a good idea, especially in the U.S

This is a good concept. Dual cameras are better. Forget about motion features. Only have one camera. If it has 4 channels,it would make 360 cameras. If they make it 4 channels, it would be amazing cameras. 9.

I like the 360 degree idea, size, and functions. But, It only has one camera eye. This means it can only record in the direction it is looking with the capable FOV degree at one time. I need something that is reasonable in size and cost (like this unit is), but capable of watching all around the vehicle at all times. I do like the voice command to spin and look at you and any officer who may (or may not) be having a consensual interaction with you. I think if it could have the capability to add more 360 degree view cams to keep a lookout all around the vehicle, and when needed be able to quickly focus where special events are happening from inside the vehicle. This will give maximum view and recording for you and your property. Also, the microphone should be more sensitive, but strong enough to handle strong vehicle stereo systems pounding on the mechanics of the microphone. Does the motion detection also have the ability to send a alarm text to your mobile? This would be a top notch feature. All-in-all, I am interested in this device.
this guy doesn't show number 1 but as you check out other reviews of this
some things you should be aware of before buying .
1. the footage of it detecting people and tracking people while parked is stock footage , this is a red flag , why did he not test the parking AI himself . the fact that he's using footage sent by the company shows collaboration between the two . this is not the only one , all reviews of of this product showing that same stock footage and not being tested independently are knowingly covering up the fact that parking AI does not work .
2. it's not the worlds first 360 motorized dash cam . i bought mine 10yrs ago and was looking to upgrade to the parking AI they claim to have.(mine is no longer made )
3. i paid $90 for mine , and a lot of the features that this camera has to be hardwired for came standard when plugged into a lighter socket , such as parking surveillance , motion detection , not draining your battery ,
4. no rear camera option .
5. other than the voice commands and warnings all the technology on this thing was out 10yrs ago.
I think you should explore some alternative products that may better for your needs.
@Tech4All I agree, and I have been. The ones I currently find are too expensive and not quite ideal. This 360, though, has potential. Again, not quite ideal for my needs, yet. Thanks for the Reply! 😁👍🏻

(Since 70maiOMNI don't support rear camera with their RC06, they should have bundle it)

I think 2K resolution is the "sweet spot" for dash cams and I hope you can change out the recording card because they will go bad eventually.

Yes, I have a question if somebody’s coming from behind your car but the cameras is facing forward while your car is parked and left alone, how would it know if somebody damaged your car from behind? does the AI know that somebody’s walking up on your car from behind? And does it automatic locks motion videos while your car is parked?
In most cases you won't see what's on the rear. Better get a dual channel camera with a dedicated rear module.

I do like the concept of this product, however I prefer removable memory card feature in dash cams.... I like to keep my footage to view later after traveling through interesting towns and nature.

Yes you can, but it will not be that convenient as it will not do actual.parking mode and will record full videos instead.

I cannot think of such one. Maybe you can use two dual-channel cams.
The heat from the sun dries out the motor in the camera. It did with mine.

There used to be a plan to have a 4G enabled hardwire - this would be the only possible way.

Lately - I often go to Cropp - they have quite interesting and fun t-shirts, which are good about color grading. Funny enough - most of the clothes I buy in the past months and years I choose based on the color and whether they will look good on a video or not.
I backed this on Kickstarter and it just arrived today. The small font light print was a poor choice for the manual. If you wear glasses good luck. It is much heavier than I imagined. I will be hardwiring this where it will replace my Nexgear. Since it can't be located in front of the rear view mirror which side works best? It's going in my Jeep Gladiator to record off road adventures.
I have it placed next to the mirror, looks fine. Indeed - looks bulky.
Does the video get saved to the cloud, or your phone app? I like the Nexar where I can review incidents or share, and delete if not needed. Does the video loop after so long?
It gets saved on the internal storage.
As soon as the storage is full - the algorithm deletes the oldest entries. All emergency videos are write protected.
Hi. Great insights. Could you please let us know the impact on car batter for paking survalaince. E.g. if i park the car for a month at the airport. How does that work. Is it constantly taking charge from my car's battery or it has some internal battery as well. How long of a parking survailance mode has an effect on car's battery. That is the major point of concern for me. Also if if i can connect it to a battery pack instead of the car's internal battery-is it a possibility?
Parking mode will not exceed a day or so. Using it for longer will drain the car's battery. There is undervoltage protection with the hardwire kit

Do you know if I can use the 70mai Omni in surveillance while powered by a normal powerbank?
You can, but depends on the type of surveillance. You can monitor it via the app, but your phone has to be within range.
Energy consumption with one or both of the parking security features on, Drains your battery in a few days.
And a simple thing as the coalition detection, what should be done with an accelerometer that doesn't use more then 2 to 3 mah , already makes this dashcam us about 200mAh/h in combinations with the 4 G module, Without the coalition detection and Motion detection, it just uses 10-20mAh/h including the 4G module.
So the nice advertisement of the motion detections are focusing on a feature that you can only use for a short period of time. Leave your car for 4 days and the changes is high that it won't start. Except if you have a smart car that just completely switched of the Omni.

Yes, it will consume battery. There are protection settings that you can configure in the app in order to avoid battery drain

How clear was the quality of video footage during the daytime, evening and/or nighttime driving? How clear was it to see license plate numbers whether oncoming, following or at signal lights during the daytime, evening and/or nighttime? Is there wide angle and telephoto lens on this unit and if there is, can they be used at the same time and viewed on the screen? What are the pros and cons? If you could get something changed or made better, what would it be? I know that you mentioned that 4K would've been nice however there were drawbacks to that...

It is a good question. I believe it will be fine - the material feels good.
As for a magnet - not sure whether it will be perfect for such a rather heavy camera.
Does it alert you when you are not in the vehicle but within range of wifi connected to your phone?

There are plenty of good options, including this one. Check also Viofo, DDPai and Blackvue.
My older model 70mai dash cam won't work on my wife's ID.4 AWD since it got a heated windshield. Basically, it blocks the GPS signal of 70mai (but both our phones, GPS, or other devices' GPS signal are not affected, only on the 70mai) and made it basically useless. Because all the speed display, ADAS function rely on the GPS signal. I'm wondering if the GPS on this new model is any better. Anyone tested it on vehicles with heated windshield?

Not possible. What you want requires a 4G enabled dashcam.
I'm not sure if this was mentioned but what if you want to use this in. a rental car (Business, Vacation , etc.) can I still use this by getting power from a car usb port or cigarette lighter.? I know you mentioned that it has to be hard wired to the car, but this is something that I would also want to use when traveling.
Hey, thanks for the comment Brian. The Hard-Wire kit is optional. 80% of the time I used it with power coming from the car cigar socket.

What you would need is a 2 channel setup at minimum. Blackvue, think wear, and viofo all sell high end units. Buy all of them and have it pointed out at each corner.

It has very good temperature tolerance. Still - if you are concerned about safety, get a dashcam with super capacitor

No. The 4G module works for the cam only. No Internet sharing.
Is there any info on hot days and direct sun light? I've had cameras just drop off while driving on a 100 degree day

The "4G" is being brought via the hard-wire kit as far as I understand. Will be interesting to see how it works as soon as it is ready.

0:51 so does it still work after manual panning ? because i'm afraid that if the motorized panning/voice commands are too slow, then i would manually grab it to pan it lol. It's to record funny stuff happening at the moment in the car with the kids/family. but its also a dash cam that needs to record the road mostly lol. I have been thinking about the insta360 x3 for dash cam but low light bad quality and price tag too high for purpose
It works, but 70mai do not recommend manual intervention.

Parking surveillance, if a suspicious person is photographed, I am already in the company at this time. Can this be sent to my mobile phone? What is the effective distance or is it unlimited distance?
There is an optional 4G hardwire.kit, but I have never tried it.

The camera is not shooting in spherical mode - they claim it is "360" because it can pan.

For such kind of functionality you will indeed need something with a SIM card. Currently this model doesn't have such an option. Check some of the Blackvue options.

What I've personally done for my dash camera was used a eBay vinyl sheet. I applied it to the front outside windshield above the the wiper blade path. It provides some shade for my camera. It's been 1 year with this setup.

@@JoseJimenez-vp5kw it should be uploaded any second. My windshield is flat and pointed up. If I had a strap windshield I would've done a more protective cover with the vinyl. So far 8 months with the vinyl on the windshield no issues.

The AI works regardless of the cabling method.
You showed everything except what it is meant for: 360 protection when car idle? Anything you showed can be done by waay cheaper dashcams. We need to see if the 200 usd price tag is worth it or not.
You can use parking mode. But it won't cover 360 degrees all the time.

Could it be turned upside down and mounted in the dashboard? Many states in the US actually have laws about cameras or anything, for that matter, being placed onto the windshield; even if it doesn't obscure the field of view.
I believe you can do this - but it really depends on the dashboard of the car.

4k video record is not good idea if the video data is full which is not good thing. Plus I can guess the cost will increase that required faster processing and saving the data. But it is strange that there should more 1 gb storage either the format or the way handle the data or hardware specs.
I just wonder where you get this one to do a review since its not avail yet and being crowdfunded and availability is not before February 2023
Mihail and other trusted RUclips reviewers receive pre-production models for demo/review purposes. Even though 70mai have their own promotional materials and videos available online, they know they also need independent unbiased reviewers to give us even more information on their products. I'm really glad this happens, as it also gives many more opportunities for potential "bugs" to be fixed, before mass production ramps up in January 2023. Mass, in this case, will be about 2000 units, that will fulfill all the orders generated by the Kickstarter campaign. I don't know how many more, if any, they'll produce for direct sales, at that point. Like others, I really wish it had removable storage, and a super capacitor, in lieu of the battery! Maybe the additional power needs of the rotating camera make this difficult??
I have received the unit from 70Mai for testing. ajbfwb is right with his explanation.
Overall - I am not so convinced they really will be looking to fix bugs, as such are barely existing even at this early stage.
Looks like these days crowdfunding campaigns are a good opportunity to create hype, and to also make good forecasts about manufacturing.

Well..the real thing would be a REAL 360 camera, not a rotating camera.

Secondly, you mean they have a 4G module in the hardware kit this time? I have the old hardware kit, which I thought would work with this when I ultimately decide to burn my $$ on it.
Yes, there are editions up to 128GB.
As for the LTE kit - it should be available next year. So better wait.
