I wear the Predator outfit during early spring kayak fishing when water temps are still in the 30s and 40s. It really cuts the wind, whether on the ice or in the yak!
Coming from WV it's definitely helped for when it gets cold here in bama. Many days this time of year I'm the only boat on the water. I love it when it gets cold, I'm in my element. Big thing I've learned though is I wasn't ready for the hot weather. I don't fish near as much when it gets hot down here as I do when it's cold. This heat ain't no joke and I don't like it.
My ice fishing days here in Ohio are short. I didn't have any luck the other day, & the these two past days its 40f to 45f after three weeks of well below 27F. It was down the middle teens most nights recently.
Although when growing up in NJ I used to actually go ice fishing, these days when it's below 60 there is no going outside ...😂. And luckily for me, Florida F1 strain bass hate the cold more than I do . And the phrase " .... and we'll go out on the ice... " is no longer in my vocabulary ... lol
@ this past February during a Viking Cruises 'In Search of Northern Lights' cruise to Norway (I'm one of their Resident Astronomers aboard the ship) I was an escort for an excursion where we went ice fishing. It was 20 below at the time and there is only 4 hrs of daylight so most of the excursion with in the dark ... unfortunately the excursion was only 5 hrs long and we had to snow shoe 2kms to get to the fjord and we didn't catch anything (Arctic char) ... I think I'll just stick to bass fishing with my FFS ... 🎣

Your New Whacky Shot didn't work for me today...It Just Skips Across The Ice...So I Iced Fished Instead...

I got the Milwaukee heated vest . Does a great job keeping your core warm so l don't have to dress too bulky.
Glad you found a solution that works for you!

Wild Turkey 101. 😂 Just kidding. That will actually make you colder.
FFS has an impact on ice fishing. Freaking Freezing Situations 🥶. Thanks, Matt. How do you deal with your presentation during ice fishing.
FFS is actually a bigger impact on ice fishing that open water IMO
@MattStefanFishing I figured that the jigging type of fishing would affect the numbers of fish caught while ice fishing
Hopefully we will see an ice fishing video.
Maybe one day!
I don’t know how you guys live up there. Brutal.
Haha
I'll trade you. Your -5 for my Texas 20. Lol
