- Today I can present to YOU the full DRIVE & SOUND with the new 2019 / 2020 Ford Focus ST! Guys....its simply amazing how good this thing sounds! Engine is a 2.3 liter EcoBoost with 280 hp & 450 Nm of torque, a really playful combination. it's cuz the U.S. is a fat farm nation, such cars are generally too small to cater to the average car buyer there.

Do the gloves help? I used to ride motorcycles and thin gloves are good and necessary. But in a car I never used them. Do they affect feel, grip, what are the good and bad points?
This is a good video. Information, entertainment, enjoyable and not too long.
I think he wears gloves because his hands sweat. I don't think the other factors play so much of a role.
Also if you have an Alcantara steering wheel you don't want sweat and oils in it.

Sounds crazy dope - I've just ordered the New ST 2022 In mean Green, however, it's an automatic, and I'm not sure the automatic will sound like the manual which is pretty sad

Ich höre lediglich ein heiseres brummen in Kombination mit Knallerbsen das für mich den Eindruck einer defekten AGA erweckt als ein sportlicher Sound.

I owned one it’s amazing car. I swapped it for a golf r 7.5 and the golf has been a complete disappointment. The Ford is so much better in every way and the golf r reliability was the worst
The golf r was the most unreliable car I’ve owned. Creaky like a 120,000 mile car, noisy. Both my focus st was brilliant no problems.
Now my gti mk8 is rattling and noisy and creaking. Vw are a joke.
Always go for Ford or Hyundai.

i heard on auto top nl channel that you didnt have to take your foot off the gas pedal to change gears on this car .. have you tried that?
Likely that’s possible but we haven’t t tried it.

Das Knallen klingt mir ein bisschen zu sehr nach Knallerbsen.
Ein richtig super geiles Auto. Ford power is the best. In dieser Klasse unschlagbar. Ford macht weiter so geile Autos.
GTI Performance, Megane RS, Astra J OPC, I30n... ja das Lokus is unschlagbar.
The car has flat foot shift. You don't have to lift your foot from the accelerator when you shift

Also das Knallen ist mir im Vergleich zum Sound viel zu laut...

Wie soll man den das Knallen simulieren? Das ist Anti-Lag das ist immer künstlich, hier im ST so wie in allen WRC Autos, wo die Technik her kommt

Das knallen ist einfach too much.
Hört sich aber halbwegs "natürlich" an. Kein DSG pupsen und jedesmal beim Schalten "Peng,peng,peng", immer im gleichen Tonfall und Abstand. Haben die Jungs bei Ford ganz gut hinbekommen.

Is it tuned? My Mk4.5 isn't as loud as this one. The meter is a digital one. I don't recalled being able to go up to 200 at 4th gear.
Innen klingt er deutlich besser als draußen. Gerade das Schub-knallen klingt mir persönlich etwas zu metallisch und zu hoch
Sound Symposer regelt... alles nur noch bearbeitete Kacke.

Could have used the flat shift feature, you were lifting off throttle to change gear

Sehr schick besser als der mk3. Hab mich aber dennoch für den I30 Fastback N entschieden.
Aber am meisten Fahrspaß macht mir dennoch der Focus ST mk2 :D

Its LWD - Left wheel drive... it can only drive in circles.
Very nice! Should of had 320hp though and the the new RS version 400 hp!
I don't see the benefit when you are chucking all that power through the front wheels. Very little difference in a Type R vs a cupra 290. The RS would handle the extra power better.
Lewis Barrett yes i see what your saying but now some of these new high powered FWD hot hatches have these clever front electronic differentials to be able to put all the power down!
@@peterbennpan7288 I have the electronically controlled limited slip differential, which helps in the corners. Doesn't save the launch though it can't get all that power down due to it being fwd.

@@peterbennpan7288 Leon Cupra. As capable as it is It struggles to put down all its power. Launch control is a complete fail it just spins the tyres. You get better results launching manually. Very good mid range and in the corners though once you get past the traction issues.
Sounds much better than Golf GtI or even the golf R. I just wish was automatic

@@iKyroja Actually there is, anyone who has used a car in real life will tell you that they spend time in traffic, a dual-clutch transmission hot hatch makes going to work and paying for the car a lot easier and enjoyable.
Any hot hatch that doesn't come with an auto option is not a proper hot hatch. Hot hatches are great all-round cars. You can use it on the race track and then drive it to work.
Anyone who has sat in traffic in a manual will tell you about how much they wished their car were an auto.

If you focus (no pun intended) on the engine revving sound instead of the artificial 'pop pop', then it sounds like nothing special at all

Das hängt wohl von der Lautstärke deiner Lautsprecher ab;) War meine ich „nur“ mit 96dB eingetragen aber im Sport Modus muss der eigentlich lauter sein🤷♂️
@@Automann-TV Ja WOOOOW! U.1 96dB(A) und U.3 dann 69dB(A)? Gaaaanz krass laut. Vielleicht kommen die 96dB(A) auch vom hubraumschwachen Motor der bei maximaler Belastung um sein Leben brüllt?
Ich versuch mal das Klangbild in Worte zu fassen:
Während der Fahrt: Nichts - Knall - Nichts - Knall.
Im Stand: Kaputter Traktor - Furzendes Nilpferd - Knall - beschissen gebaute AGA mit Resonanzgeräuschen beim abtouren.
Man kann auch einfach mal sagen das die Karre scheiße klingt und außer en bissn Ballern, was jede Saugrohrbude ohne Software macht, soundtechnisch nichts kann.

Ist das "extreme" knallen nun nur im trackmode oder auch im sport? Irgendwie gibt das nie einer mit an in den Videos... Leider... Hab mir nämlich einen "bestellt" der kein Performance Paket hat und wäre schon etwas enttäuscht wenn im sport nicht solche Klänge kommen 😅

Warum darf der trotz OPF im Stand so hochdrehen? Dachte, dass das durch die Regularien nicht mehr drin sei. Für OPF wahnsinnig guter Sound!
Warum sollte OPF etwas mit rev limiter zu tun haben?
Meine Info war, dass zB ein Audi R8 mit OPF im Stand nur noch bis zu einer gewissen Drehzahl drehen darf..
Kenne die genaue Regelung ebenfalls nicht. Aber im Stand haben wirklich viele 2019er Autos ein Drehzahllimit..
Hab nen 2017er Focus ST-Line und der lässt mich im Stand nicht höher als 4000 Umdrehungen drehen
@@Palbert1 das hat was mit Motorschutz zu tun. Leg den ersten gang ein und dann kannst du in der Regel bei jedem auto in den begrenzer drehen

Otherwise you need a remap to turn it off.
