Ah! This video makes me SO happy! I remember reading all of these books with my kids, and I love knowing that these books brought so much happiness to them. Let me know your favorite picture books!
I'm not a teacher but I am a writer that is focusing on children's stories (picture book) and since I dont have children of my own it can be a little difficult from time to time to know "whats in" and how kids react to it. I have heard of about a quarter of these books and the rest were new to me. I really appreciate the video and you do a great job describing the books. I hope i can bring a story into this world that's as wonderful as what you've shared here.
I watched your channel when you first started decorating your classroom and only found it again now. It seems like you’re a good teacher with happy students. I am glad i found your channel again.
I ❤️ this video!!! I am a 📚 lover myself & as a first grade teacher I get to show my firsties how to love books & open up their minds more with books! Most of these are on my wishlist! 🤞🏼
If you're looking to give your kids books as gifts, you should definitely check out *personalised childrens books* - it's still the book you're giving but with the ability to have custom label and cover design, making it feel tailor made
An interesting observation is that the book about the older man who lives a "very lonely life," who one day receives a Valentine is that what others perceive may not be true to what that person feels at all. In other words, from the outside looking in people perceived that this man lived a very lonely life, but to him he could have been completely content and happy living his simple quiet life. Not all people like to go a mile a minute and surrounded by lots of people on the daily. There are many people who happy being at home relaxing and content and for years and years. ❤
This is such a great video idea! I'm planning on having a free book fair and more things like that in my nonprofit I'm working on and this gave great inspiration!
These seem like great books and many of them I have never heard of. Thanks for the recommendation! I interviewed for a first grade position today...coming from Kindergarten isn't a huge jump, but it's where I want to be so we'll see what happens!
Rachael Lyn absolutely!! Plus most of these work from k to 3rd perfectly! You can definitely use picture books at any grade level but it's so much fun in the primary grades you know?! And good luck! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻☺️
Great video! Can I make a recommendation for your next favorite books video? Maybe give the title and author's name especially since you're showing the covers really fast. Maybe even list the book titles and authors in the description? This would be helpful for those of us who might want to buy the book. Thanks!
Shakwana S Thank you! I did not state the author's name for the sake of time. I know pausing takes a second, but I actually linked all of the books in the description as well! ☺️
Hi, I'm not sure if this is book would be too much for kids, but I just read Tea Dragon Society by Katie O'Neill. It was such a cute story and it might be great for little kids. I'm not too sure about younger kids, you can read it first and then judge it, but it's just a suggestion. Love from a teenage book lover💜
Boy, I'm trying to find online this old children's book we had read and watched on VHS in class when I was in, maybe, kindergarten. It was about a girl who departs with her dad, mom, or sister (in the book, it was a guy, in the video, it was a female) and enters the woods. She encounters a strange man, who keeps her prisoner inside his lone house. I think she had to clean the bathroom; I know for sure there was a picture with a bathtub that had weird feet, which actually were in the shape of feet, I think. The only other thing I remember is a companion from the house (I have no idea what or who) giving her a magic hair comb, which magically enlarged to act as a giant fence to block the man when he chased her in the forest. She returned to her house and reunited with the relative. Does this story ring a bell?
That was great. I use books in my classes and I did see some that I would love to buy. I have some ideas for using books in my class for future videos!
Thank you for this! I start my first year of teaching in a week and I happen to be teaching first grade, so these would be perfect! Definitely know what I'm asking for when Christmas rolls around!
Awesome video. I am a Children's author and I have written two picture books and a coloring & activity book available on Amazon . I will love to donate to your classroom and also get feedback from your students. I will be delighted if you can reach out to me if possible. Regards
Why don't teachers pick out the classics or those that won awards? If our teacher asked us what we wanted her to read, we almost always asked for Where the Sidewalk Ends, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Polar Express, or some other books that we could all enjoy (basically all of which are still popular today).
If our alienated teachers or librarians picked out books, they were the ones that no one wanted to hear again. The books they picked out were almost always those which they "related" with.
These are books my STUDENTS said were their favorites. Not me :) You also probably grew up in a different time and there are so many books that have been released that are absolutely worth picking up. The books we have now also have way more representation in them, and I think my students gravitate towards books that have characters that look like them, in addition to fun stories that mean something to them.

I definitely do not think that is the message the book is sending haha
