Maybe the mother wouldn’t have poison her daughter for money if she just downloaded Word Farm Adventure and entered the epic Word Farm Adventure spelling contest.
My theory has shifted from "these videos are self aware" to more of a Samurai Cop situation where English is not the creator's first language and some of the actors involved know they're in absolute garbage while some don't.
She could have easily said about the ring "Fine, you wanna embarrass me, it's a knockoff. I sold the real one to pay for Emily's treatments, and got this fake one made of gel and brass for 29.99. You happy?"
9:40 "I don't understand what they haven't come see me" I don't know what's worse, the writer fucking up a sentence that badly or the actor reading it verbatim.
As someone who was a victim of Munchaussen’s by Proxxy, this pisses me off more than the other just because of my personal relation to it. Like- who is this for?? It’s a crappy episode of a CW show, not a life lesson that raises awareness on anything. So distasteful.
Yeah, Dhar Mann and Generation Hope ultimately try and teach infantile 'life lessons' to boot. That isn't how life works, there's complexity to these problems that SHOULD be taught, but aren't. And it's not like kids aren't capable of understanding these complex issues either, but Dhar ain't interested in that kind of nuance.
15:24 I was literally just thinking about the “all food is poison” Tim and Eric skit at the beginning of the video and he fucking references it. I love you Adum.
I don't know why I thought this might be about Munchausen by Proxy and have something interesting or insigthful to say. Of course she's just cartooniishly evil and does it for the money. You know, like how it happens all the time in real life. Never doubt Generation Hope to talk about real problems. Also I love how the caption at 8:32 is like (door slams) while she closes it gently
I think this is probably the closest Generation Hope has gotten to endorsing a valuable and needed message if you think of the whole 'mom poisoning her daughter' premise as a stand in for child abuse generally. The lesson at the end was to check on loved ones and act if you suspect something is wrong which is a principle that can apply to many more likely scenarios. I also think that the mom character wasn't too over the top (relative to other GH villians) and that the part where the mom lies to the daughter about her friend visitng and then tries to convince her that she doesn't have any friends besides her (the mom) isn't a half bad demonstration of the psychological abuse that's employed to alienate victims and make them dependent on their abuser. Honestly I could care less if an abusive parent character isn't portrayed 100 percent "beleivably" in a psa type video where the focus should be on the abusers redflags and what everyone else can do to stop them. (Granted, this video wasn't overall great at that either) There are actual parents who have killed their children for shit as petty as insurence money and I doubt that their motives and priorities are any more understandable or worthy of sympathy to the average person than this mom character. So I guess there's that.
At the beginning of the video the daughter says, we’ve been doing everything the doctor said… What did the doctor say? The doctor didn’t say, “your mom is like poisoning you bro.”? Was there even a doctor to begin with? I know poking holes in a weak premise is like, pointless, especially with generation Hope videos, but… what DID the doctor say lol
The worst part about these and Dhar's vids is that I honestly cannot argue that they do not make the world a better place (for me at least). Watching Adam watching these makes me so happy.
I love how in this universe every cop is “just some guy”. No uniform to indicate they’re a cop. Did the protests result in cop costumes no longer being sold at Party City? XD
This is set in a universe where big brother defunded the police, that's why there are no uniforms. They are trying to tell you with the placement of Orwell's 1984.
These videos are based on an even more simplistic and black and white world view than Dhar Mann's. The mother is a less subtle bad guy than some classic Disney villains.
Adum might be onto something with the subs being outsourced for pennies. When I was looking for some random freelance shit few months back, I saw quite a few postings for youtube channels where you would sub them (to a different language), which seemed neat until I saw the pay which was like 15eurodoubloons for every video. At such a rate, I'd probably just write the lyrics to ram ranch.
I’m not gonna lie, the idea of a mom poisoning her daughter for go fund me money is an amazing premise for a movie or something like that. Goes to show that a good premise doesn’t mean shit if you have bad writers.
Can you PLEASE make that clip of adam doing the "poison" song thing into its own short video? just that on it's own. I will watch it every single day that was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time
Botox - $300/$600 Nose job - $5,000 Tesla - $50,000/$95,000 House - $374,000 (on average) And the goal is $50,000 right? At this rate you'd kill the daughter before the cheapest Tesla..
So... is the moral of this story... not to offer money to people online asking for help with medical expenses because they're probably lying?! That's kinda fucked up, even for GH!
man these topics keep beeing so relatable. this speak to me so much more than Dharrs "please believe me that i have money despite looking kind of slack"
I was tabbed out for the beginning of the movie, so I've been sitting here this whole time waiting for "Mendez" to show up and tell Emily "about all of your lies."
How are all the cop uniforms so equally bad while being completely different? Why do they they just have one decent uniform that they reuse instead of 30 terrible costumes
Theres something ironic about generation hope making a villain whose creating a fake scenario to milk sympathy and make money off it while being as stingy with said money as possible
Wow. I wonder if "mix in some chocolate bar I found off the street" was written to be a joke, but no one on set that day understood or gave a shit. Maybe it was meant to be some gallows humour, similar to when Deadpool and his girlfriend make up absurdly tragic childhood stories or something like that. Like "wow, you had a cardboard box to sleep in?"
Adum, the reason why the subtitles are inaccurate is because the script is translated to Chinese from English then they use they use google translate to turn it back to English for the subtitles.
Competent people with this disorder don’t go doing this, they try to keep as low a profile as possible sometimes but also utilize resources so they gain some money for the sick child
Wow, these videos are getting dark! (Incompetently dark, but still!) And LOL, I've watched too much Forensic Files 😂 I was thinking "Couldn't they at least go for a bigger bottle and a real arsenic label?"

Maybe the mother wouldn’t have poison her daughter for money if she just downloaded Word Farm Adventure and entered the epic Word Farm Adventure spelling contest.
Uh yeah, and get arrested for hot dog theft? You gotta think these things through...
Nah, she wouldn't get arrested because she's white
22:21 -Threatening to kill your child and then following it up with “you little twerp” is the weirdest tonal shift I’ve heard.
Their heart wasn't in it writing this one, not like the racist ones.
It's like her mother just binged fairly odd parents
My theory has shifted from "these videos are self aware" to more of a Samurai Cop situation where English is not the creator's first language and some of the actors involved know they're in absolute garbage while some don't.
"Take a look at this."
"What is this?"
Bottle label: *Normal-pills*

Legit had a fucking spit-take when she hands the bottle over straight-up labeled "poison" and the girl asked "what is this?"
excellent.
"It's napple napple napple napple napple."
Only if she was allowed to play Word Farm Adventure...😔
She could have easily said about the ring "Fine, you wanna embarrass me, it's a knockoff. I sold the real one to pay for Emily's treatments, and got this fake one made of gel and brass for 29.99. You happy?"
Or said it was a gift. Also why would a 12-15 year old girl know the exact price of that ring? Shouldn’t she be too busy making Tik Toks and stuff
Gel and brass! Nay! BRaSs aNd pAsTE my dear Hildred, bRaSS ANd PasTe.

I’m sorry to hear that.
The mother can't be a villain, she's clearly holding an iPhone
That's what makes her one
Adam's talent to forget basic plot details never ceases to amaze.
Yeah, 6/10 times, he points out giant plot holes, and the rest are him explaining plot holes that only exist because he misremembered something.
@@FerHivore So when he reviews any movie he doesn't like?

I'm convinced that Generation Hope is just one man's fetish for abject evil constantly produced into short films.
The portrayal of abject evil in these videos would make Michael Haneke blush.
Honestly she shouldve cooked her son spaghetti so he could grow up to write Stan
“BITCH! I WROTE STAN!”
She would give her son coffee for years then spill some hot coffee on him one day so he's goes "that's an awfully hot coffee pot"
I am so glad 1984 made an appearance. I was worried.
Trying to kill someone with a weapon that has "murder weapon" written on it is the dumbest idea I've ever heard of.
I don't know why I thought this might be about Munchausen by Proxy and have something interesting or insigthful to say. Of course she's just cartooniishly evil and does it for the money. *(She sighs shy sighs at sunrise by the Sia sized fry spies in tie-dyes holding copies of supple leopard's in guise of wise-guy reading supplies)*
That moment when Generation Hope actually steals their idea from an animated story channel video.
Generation Hope is like HBO’s Room 104 with how many stories takes place in that one apartment set.
