There are things I said 5 years ago that I wouldn’t say today because I have a greater understanding of the world now than I did then. So it’s possible that Jeanie felt that way at the time, realized how messed her her attitude was and changed. But claiming it was taken out of context (when it clearly wasn’t) makes me think she actually hasn’t changed at all. I think Jeannie was trying to say something clever and put her foot in her mouth. She was trying to justify her then marriage (with a white man), while her actual preference was black men. I do not believe that Jeannie's comments on The Real meant that she would have a black man on the side while married to a white man. Most Asian people do not respect black people. It can be easily argued that signing a prenup one day before your wedding could be considered duress because at that point the person is invested in the wedding taking place and would probably agree to anything to prevent it from being cancelled. I don’t think this was the case with Jeannie and Jeezy though. They both have successful careers and she’s been divorced before. It’s believable that she wanted a prenup as much as he did.

No one is perfect and everyone has said something ignorant/problematic at some point in their life. There are things I said 5 years ago that I wouldn’t say today because I have a greater understanding of the world now than I did then. So it’s possible that Jeanie felt that way at the time, realized how messed her her attitude was and changed. But claiming it was taken out of context (when it clearly wasn’t) makes me think she actually hasn’t changed at all. Jeanie should have taken the negative feedback her comments got as an opportunity to reflect on her own biases and evolve.

I do not believe that Jeannie's comments on The Real meant that she would have a black man on the side while married to a white man. Most Asian people do not respect black people. It can be easily argued that signing a prenup one day before your wedding could be considered duress because at that point the person is invested in the wedding taking place and would probably agree to anything to prevent it from being cancelled. I don’t think this was the case with Jeannie and Jeezy though. They both have successful careers and she’s been divorced before. It’s believable that she wanted a prenup as much as he did.
