I love this band more than anything... Seeing them live these days, in huge arenas is incredible. I've seen them probably somewhere around 20 times now, but I'm too young to have been around for this era of the live Tool shows and I'll never be able to cope with missing out on these performances. You hit it on the head when describing the feeling of talking about these shows and hearing about it through word of mouth rather than through social media and all the BS we have today. It was just a special time in our history as a culture/society and this band was/is just so incredibly special. I love their music and I'll see them live every time they're anywhere near me, but I'll always wish I could have been there in the 90's and early 2000's, just feels like a part of me is forever missing when I watch these live performances. So glad you enjoyed this as much as I do and love watching your reactions, thanks for bringing some joy to my day! Cheers y'all!
There's another performance you can find where he hits it higher. Way higher. Like how it's on the studio version. Follow the last lyrics by a friendly "thank you!! Goodnight" in an overly happy tone. Gotta love the contrast.
Your talking about , what next Sacramento show. I use to have it on bootlegged vhs😂😂 bought it off Ebay lol wore that shit out. That's the show where he comes out in a dress and starts stripping down during 46&2 and ended up in a bra banging an inflatable pig right before this song which was the encore of all encores
Holy fuck. How have I never seen this? Thank you guys! Once again, Tool proving that they're catalog of live and studio performances are equally legendary caliber.
Hey guys I have seen a few people mention the 1992 Philadelphia show, this is so early it’s in a dive bar with like 20 people. It’s about a 45 minute concert. Maybe you two coils split it into multiple videos with two songs each part. It would be great to see you both react to the OT Tool prior to Undertow.
First time I saw them was in Nashville, lollapalooza late 90s. Maynard was half red, half blue. The movements were like he was growing out of the stage
Amazing how good live. Mistakes would be heard, unlike some bands with 2 and 3 guitar players to hide behind fails. Early angry Tool helps me get my frustrations out.
57 years old remember when this song came out played this song to my 23 year old son he’s in amazement he really isn’t into this kind of music still gets me pumped when ever I hear this song maynard just amazing 👏👏
The best Jerk-off performance is from the 1999 Coachella concert, the only one Tool played that year. It's such a shame they didn't record and release on Salival. SMH
Love that you pointed out Maynard’s “ okay, time to fuck shit up” look in the very beginning 😂😂😂 I’ve noticed it for years, one of my favorite lives, besides the ones I’ve been to that is! 🤘🏼😈
This was from the '97/98 tour that the live recordings from Salival were taken from. For the tour they added some variations to their songs (Pusthit, Jerk-Off, and the Sober intro 'Merkaba') along with adding in a few cover songs (You Lied, Stranglehold, Demon Cleaner). Maynard did alter the lyrics to "Jerk-Off" and removed the reference to using a gun. In early 1997, there was an intense bank robbery/shooting in North Hollywood which was near where Maynard was living at the time. You could say it hit close to home.
Epic!! I’ve been with y’all from day 1. I need you guys to react to Maynard and the Fan, where he tackles a fan that rushed the stage during Pushit, and he didn’t stop singing.
I swear if I was rich I would offer you both a job to hang with me and listen to TOOL. Full time job, 40 hours a week, and I'd pay well lol. Dylan is the only person I've seen that reacts to TOOL like I do, can't control himself lol. Swear I lose my shit every time I listen to TOOL and been listening to them for 30 years (I think your name is Dylan, sorry if I'm off, just had a wake and bake, could be a brain fart, it happens 😬). Anywho, please never delete these reactions, I'll be watching them till I die. Cheers 🤘🏼👁🌀🌀🌀
I have wanted that interlude part that Adam came up with in Jerk Off to be in a recorded Tool song for so long

Also he is wearing a thong 😂

I love the extended version of Jerk off, I forgot they do this version sometimes, thanks for sharing 🤘
Check out 1992 remastered in Philadelphia. Playing in a bar with what sounds like 12 people. Performance is amazing. As always.
Maynard stare is so great, I feel bad for what ever guy was stuck in the corner he looked at the whole time.
Yessir!! Pure Tool wizardry!
This will always be the most impressive tool performance for me. I wish they recorded this version along with opiate 2

That last scream from Maynard f*** that guy is incredible and great vid review

That last scream is the most powerful raw primal sound I've ever heard Maynard is a legend dude love Tool so much bra and all!! 🤘

Such a fun song to play on guitar and pretty simple.
Una de mis favoritas de tool, los escucho desde los 12 años y tengo 41. Espero que reaccionen también a katatonia. Saludos desde Chile

Think for yourself. Question Authority. Never forget Maynard!!! You guys are AWESOME
One of the best live vocal performances ever.
Однна з наайкрутіших, шедевральних робі TOOLA

Demon Cleaner is such a great cover
Hands down one of the best live screams. Up there with "Pushit the Fan" 👀
Silky smooth 🔥🔥🔥
Jerk Off live @ Coachella 1999 is the best performance of that song. Maynard even sports a thong lmao.

this song was off debut ep from very very start of tool
Sick Death shirt.
