Wow i so love this classic song, The streets of london.."One of the best songs of all time...Thankyou Ralph for performing this iconic song. The lyrics are just amazing and so true to life...Your voice is beautiful Ralph ..God bless you sir... ♥♥♥🙏🙏🙏
unbelievable ! Thank you Ralph for this wonderful song which I heard so many times, first more than 45 years ago in 1975, when I was a child. Thank you for your music!
The first time I saw Ralph in concert was in 1981 in Sydney and he was great. I've seen him many times since then and he just gets better each time. Life experience enriches the experience of this wonderful storyteller. Keep going Ralph!
I played this song so many times busking in the 70s , Londen , Paris ,Amsterdam, San Francisco, and many more towns and citys , it was what i called a money song , thanks Ralph. ,
This , now THIS is a GENUINE Work of Art . forget Cows in Formaldehyde , Unmade Beds and all that phoney tosh that the rich & pompous buy into .... Real art you see , you hear , you feel , you sense . So ,every box ticked then : seen , heard , felt & sensed .
For whatever reason this song came to my mind today. We've learned it as part of our English lessons at school (besides _"What shall we do with the drunken sailor?"_ that was played an hour ago in television :o) Memories… Greetings from Germany Mr. McTell
He wrote the song while living in Paris,so what? I was born in Germany in the forties to Welsh parents.I now live France, and play this timeless song regularly with my band of old crocs. It’s music man.
London 1975, Los Angeles 1986, London 2023. Nothing has changed. It could happen to anyone, just one tragedy, one divorce, one broken family, one loss, one addiction. I'd like to live long enough to see real change. Great song.
It was for me, 1968, I was 14. Don't play much now but this song is still in my muscle memory, and the words are all still there. That is the mark of a true GREAT song. Thank you Ralph, you changed my life, you brought joy and tears. If it is possible I really feel love for this great songster.
One might say it's bit schmaltzy but if a song has survived for so many decades there must be more to it. And McTell sounds just like he did 50 years ago.
So glad that this lovely man is still in fine voice. Long live Ralph McTell!
He’s working on a new album
To be true (shame on me), i thought he's dead

Greetings from Germany Mr. McTell
Ralph must have shoveled lots of money since 1967 for writing this song. Very well deserved, the song is still magic.🙂
Wonderful!! Thanks for sharing!!

Yeah, him, that song..
"Old brown dog" is still my favorite of his songs.
Good!
I wonder if this song is still a "must" for young guitarists who are starting out learning the (fingerpicking) guitar. For me, it was, eons ago..
Yes it is I’m playing it now 😂😂Brian Ireland 🇮🇪🎸🎸if played right a lot of the little runs are transferable to other songs 🎸🎸🎸cheers
Some meaning? No?

One of the great songs. Unfortunately utterly relevant still, probably for all time. So poignant.
Great song!!
❤
Listening the song in Kenya. Beautiful soul Ralph McTell. Song has changed my view on my being lone. Thank you McTell.
Yes yes yes yes yes !!!
Acoustic music..., amen
Brilliant
This is Classical Music. Pure and simple. Listen to that chord arrangement. It could have been written by Beethoven....
Faithful to the original, not been 'jazzed up', excellent.
Er ist der Grösste für mich nebst John Denver!

den herrn hab ich vor 50 jahren in aalen singen gesehen
It's a cliche, this is a timeless classic. And sadly, it will be probably as relevant in a century as it was the day Ealph McTell wrote it.
Do you still go to a buffet with Billy 😂
Note eterne

Shameless Ted Lasso knock off !
Seems strange that the wonderfull Ralph was singing this in germany as he was born during the the 2nd world war .. just saying.
What relevance has that? He admitted himself he originally named "Streets of Paris".
Location knows no boundary with homelessness.
Best song ever
❤
