Scoups- the leader of Seventeen, says that they practice choreo for few hours but very focused hours cuz they have been training together for more than 8-10yrs together so they dont have to work too much on synchronisation and getting transitions smoothly as it comes naturally to them now!
And everyone is a good dancer- no single bad dancer!!!
SEVENTEEN has one of the best choreographed and performed dances from new formations to the imagery that they have in their dances to the synchronization. Its just one of the best and personally for me THE BEST.
BTW hoshi who is one of the members of seventeen and the performance leader, actively takes part in choreographing these dances along with other choreographers and has helped in giving kpop some of the best dances thanks to his talent.
+ all performance unit member (Jun, The8 and Dino) participates choreography making in as well. Hoshi also help other group with their choreo
Hey not gonna lie, but you guys are quickly becoming one of my fave reactors here on YT and just had to share your reactions. There are a lot of pro dancers and singers who react to seventeen a lot and we never get disappointed because we get quality reactions and good insight from them. But you guys, bring on the discussion. Since you react with your friends, we get to see more insights and angles on one video that typically, solo reactors can't pick up on their own. So thank you and your friends for spendjng the time not to just promote svt, but to also educate and inform us about dancing in different ways. Thank you for this!!

Omygosh, Getting closer next please? That song is badass and ofcourse, Queen Very Nice and Queen Don't wanna cry. Very nice is one of the earlier seventeen songs. Don't wanna cry is their most popular or most viewed song also the dance is very hard. The toughest choreo according to them is Hit. Well, all seventeen choreos are so dope. Thank you for appreciating them.
If you take a look at some of their "Inside Seventeen" (aka their official channel behind-the-scenes series) videos, especially their recent preparations for the 2020 award shows, you can catch some amazing moments of them learning the choreos and their progress - they learn so fast

Would like to point out that, at 9:18, when they are doing the clock movements, you've got the back row mimicking the clock hands and the front row is actually impersonating a sand clock! they use their fingers as "the sand falling" when the person in the middle of the row does the hand movement of turning the sand clock upside down!

Also, I don't know if you guys know but they make (compose, lyrics, beats, arrangements,etc) and choreograph ALL their songs themselves! They call them "self-producing idols"!

and they do make their own songs (not to mention some MVs, arrangement, magazine, etc lol) and have a hand in choreo but a lot of the choreo is still done by choreographers like TEAM SAME since they still need time to sleep.
Fearless, My My, Fear, Getting Closer, and Fallin' Flower are so good when it comes to them showcasing how creative they can get with their choreographies. Don't Wanna Cry is also one of their most impressive choreographies.
All of the members are actively contributing to their music production from actual music producing to creating the choreographies and formations

One suggestion: When you guys pause the video to discuss, I think it would be more helpful just to leave the paused video on the screen so we can see what you're referring to as you're talking.

I cannot get enough of your SEVENTEEN reactions! So I want to put more info about them to help you get to know them; SEVENTEEN is split into three teams, hip-hop, vocal, and performance. Their performance unit consists of four members (Hoshi, Dino, The8, and Jun), Hoshi and Dino are known to get involved in the group choreography process alongside the team (usually team same) they’re working with. Hoshi and Dino have both made choreographies for SEVENTEEN entirely on their own, you can see Hoshi’s “Fast Pace” and Dino’s “Flower” which they have performed on music & award shows in the past. Dino Also has his own playlist on SEVENTEEN’s RUclips called “Dino’s Danceology” where he shows his own choreographing skills in different Western songs! The8 (who is the b-boy) has choreographed as well, but as far as we know mostly for his solo projects, so check out his solos “Dream Come True” or “Falling Down” to see his style really shine! Jun has helped choreograph as well but only slightly, he has impeccable vocals which can shine in his newest solo “Silent Boarding Gate”. However, since you are performers, I think I wouldn’t be doing my do-diligence if I don’t tell you to watch Hoshi’s solo “Spider” NOW! If you want to know why Hoshi is SEVENTEEN’s Performance team leader or lead dancer, watch Spider and you’ll know exactly why.
Fallin Flower is another one of their Japanese releases (like 24hr) that has beautiful choreography!

I love your reations ! I just wanted to point something out for you. So you've been seeing one person being centered in every line. It's actually because in the actual song they are singing that part. So the choreography has been set to showcase that person at that line with the whole choreo in sync as well. I hope that made sense ! keep reacting !

SEVENTEEN is known as KPOP's theater kids, Kpop's Powerhouse Performance Group, the standard of knife-like dance (synchronized dance)... These are industry titles given to them.. 😊
And if you'll notice that for a group that composes their own songs, they don't stick to one genre... Even in their dance... And fans actually have a statement for this:

Seventeen choreographies is entertaining for me as a non-dancer. When I got bored, the formation or hand movement changed that I got interested again. When I feel like the dance is too intense, they calmed down to slower dances, making my tired eyes watching at them again. So glad it got even more entertaining for dancers. Aju Nice!

The guy in the all-black that does the main b-boying (and that did that cool spin at the end of Home Run) is named The8! He actually used to be on a b-boying team growing up, and he's done some contemporary pieces too! He's great!

FINALLY someone is listening! This is one of my favorite choreo from them, and they have a lot that already have been mentioned in the comments. I don't know why no one really requests this one...maybe it's because the formation seems so simple, but that is a terrible injustice. The concept and details in 24H...SVT ALWAYS delivers masterpieces. Watching their dance practices are always worth it. You don't get to see everything in the music videos. I feel like you shouldn't ever not watch both if they are available.
I really love the dance practice video for THanks, Oh My!, Good to me!! and Home. I suggest almost everyone of them, they are all worth watching. I would suggest Hit, BOOM BOOM, Getting closer or Clap dance practice videoif you want to watch something more up tempo energetic. Snapshoot for more fun and creative choreo.

seventeen has been a group for years they got the synergy down bro they subconciously already know how to move as one without even thinking so they just gotta learn the sequences. picking up a choreo usually takes around 3 days depending on how complex the formations are, then they practice for a few weeks to perfect the details
watching this even were now in _WORLD era, even though we have Thanks, Don't Wanna Cry, Fallin' Flower, HIT, Crush, Anyone and HOT choreography??? 24H is still my favorite among their choreographies ♡ thank you for this amazing insight guys ♡
YESSSSSSS!!!! I love your seventeen reactions so much!!! What I love about Seventeen choreos is that they don't often repeat sections of choreography (example the chorus) but if they do, they always switch up the formations so that it stills feels fresh watching it the second time round! I would literally be happy watching you react to any Seventeen dance practice next because they're all impeccable, but my personal favourites are:

svt incorporates the Korean Sign Language in a handful of their choreos which i find rlly touching! And they use props soo well (objects and even their bodies as props quite often) they like to convey as if a member is controlling the other members in quite a lot of their choreos. And almost all choreos relate to the lyrics which is honestly just👌🏻 i srsly dk how the perf unit and the dance crew that svt works together come up with these amazing choreos🤯

And let me answer your last question about how long they practice. They usually remembering all the choreography in 1-2 day and they'll go do the details for 1-2 month. That's why they really synchronize and serving a whole clean choreography 😄

Along with all the other (very good) recommendations, you should also watch the dance practice for My My, its a lighter song and doesn't have as hard choreography as Hit or Getting Closer, but its got a lot of very creative formations
You need to watch Fallin' Flower. In this choreography they reference the flower and it is really Worth watching

I think Seventeen fans do over credit Hoshi (the member who choreographed some of their choreographies) there are choreographies where he had no input at all. He was more involved during their earlier days, but now that they're more busy, he just doesn't have as much of a time. Most recent choreographies done by amazing and talented people who deserves the credit like : Choi Youngjun the resident choreographer, Lee Dabin and Lee Junwoo head choreographers and Yoon Hyelim performance director/choreographer.
