Considering this Batman survives a point-blank explosion and Christian Bale's Batman survived a skyscraper fall by landing on a car, I'm thinking Batman might be lying about the whole "no superpowers" thing
Maybe he has a meta gene that activated when his parents were killed but he didn't notice bc it is an invisible power. That may also explain how he was able to master so many languages, martial arts and meditation techniques. (Please note that I haven't actually watched The Batman or most live action movies. I prefer the cartoons and animated movies)
Lets not forget about spalling. When a bullet hits a hard enough surface, it has a good chance to shatter and send fragments out in a deadly ring. Imagine your armor stopping the bullets, only to have hundreds of jagged metal pieces fly into your neck and exposed chin anyways. Some body armor comes with spall coating to prevent this, but it does still happen.
According to a comic source, Batman's suit is made out of a "Titanium-Kevlar Triweave" SPECIALLY and custom made by Wayne Enterprises. Basically, a comic book way to integrate real world science with plot armor.
I'm sure they do this stuff weeks, if not months in advance. They have a schedule, they don't just crank entire videos in one day. They do work hard though, nonetheless are appreciated.
Batman leaving his lower face exposed does actually have a good reason. He's constantly pulling off stunts and running and leaping from roof top to roof top so obviously that will get extremely exhausting, so he has to leave SOME space open to sweat, plus it lets him breath clearer.
And it helps him eat a woman out without risking his identity. I'm sure Selina, Talia, Shiva, Dinah, Diana, Harley, Ivy, Zatanna, Jezebel, Silver, and more really appreciate that.
I remember reading in a comic that his mouth is protected by some sort of gel that makes it fire resistant. A bullet to the jaw would still get him, however.
@@masedaace5473 I know in some of the cartoons his mask has a transparent bit that can slide out to cover his mouth when underwater but I've never heard of that before
Another problem with the exposed jawline is that if that armor doesn't catch the whole bullet, there's a good chance the bullets will fragment and could send shrapnel flying upwards from his chest into his face.
Between the 4 channels, we’ve gotten 8 videos in one weekend, including one of which that was a 30 minute video. Thank you editors for all the work you’ve done!
I’m pretty sure the reason Batman doesn’t cover his face is so that the people he saves can se that he’s human and be a little calm. When Batman goes into combat against people like darkseid he wears armor that covers his face.
I think taking on multiple enemies at once is no less of an high intensity aerobic exercise which requires a lot of stamina & a lot of oxygen to perform. Have you ever tried running while wearing a N95 mask, yep your stamina significantly reduces upto 60%(just for gravity of situation) This is why his mouth is exposed to breathe easily I guess he manage this flaw by covering his mouth with his gauntlet against bullets

Yes, this would also explain how he tanked the kinetic energy from that brief SMG barrage during the hallway scene. There's no way Batman is dumb enough to not wear shock absorbing padding of some sort underneath his armor.
One thing about his cowl is that it's stronger than it looks. During the scene at the docks, if you slow it down, we can actually see that a bullet hit the cowl, but it didn't do much damage, and he raised his arm to block the rest of the bullets.

I don’t see what kevlar, bullets and body armor, and explosions have to do with style. That’s not what style theory is about. You could say this is a mix of the two, but it’s certainly not style
Great content as usual. HISHE of The Batman also covered, briefly, Batman taking an explosion to the face. I hope your Style Theory videos gain a million+ subscriptions before this month is over.
There's a possibility that Batman's Batsuit might have the fictional metal Promethium, which is comparable to Marvel's Adamantium and Vibranium. It's an artificial metal that's able to generate and absorb nigh-limitless energies, increase healing and has been known to activate metagenes in people.
My question still is why Batman leaves his chin and lower mouth exposed. Like, one bullet there will probably put him down. Same goes for eyeholes, but those are much smaller so it's fine.
To make sure civilians can see that he's human. Also, the emblem on his chest is meant to act like a bullseye for the criminals to be drawn to instead of the harder to hit face. It's the most heavily armored part of the suit (with the metal being forged from the gun that killed Thomas and Martha Wayne).
@@sup3414 you're commenting about that when the purpose of the video is the realistic applications of the suit? By the argument that it's a comic book movie this entire video is redundant as well, so why did you bother to watch it or even click on it at all?

Because I totally thought somebody was doing some sort of deep fake of your voice, basically taking advantage of your format, and claiming it was you. Because I hadn’t seen the other videos that day, and like I was ready to fight. So uhm, glad I got the heads up about style theory.

The problem with batman is really alot simpler then it seems whether it's comics or tv it just comes to him being to popular for his own good. The core theme of batman is that he is a human that with enough effort and resources can almost do it all with different depictions adding on to that but that is basically why he became so popular in the first place. But when a character like that gets so popular along side literally gods well... You have to do some adjustments to give the fans what they want after all he is supposed to be just human with alot of training and resources. They have sit him there with literally gods and have them respect him as his popularity demands after all. And the only way too do that is either bullshit it until you can just find something to justify his ridiculous feats like a certain demon giving him his blessings. Or smart writing which is something that big companies are apparently very allergic too.
I'm actually so excited for Style Theory. It'll be a mixture of my two love, fashion and science, and how to build a little confidence. Can't wait for more

WayneTech is crazy at work. His suit is made of a titanium nanofibre woven into a kevlar-like bond. It then has solid layers of titanium coated ceramic plates. Should've done more research on what his suit is made of in the media
Theory idea: I was recently watching the Gravity Falls short "Mabel's Guide to Color," when this particular line from grunkle stan stuck out to me. This line was when he opened his blinds to a huge bright rainbow, he says: "MY EYES ARE BURNING!! AHHH- AHHHH!" This got me thinking... Can color actually make your eyes burn? Can this lead to colorblind-ness, or even just making someone blind? Im genuinely really curious about this, I hope you could consider this for a video! Edit: I do understand Mat's Wednesday theory is similar to this, but slightly different. Just wanted to put it out there :)
There is a good chance that nobody's gonna see this, but I want Matpat to take a look into Murder Drones. If you want something that has some very interesting lore, but is also just a REALLY good show here on RUclips, that's one that I'd recommend. I am not the best at theory crafting, but even I can tell that there is stuff here that would get Matpat's theory alarms ringing. Plus, it's about creepy murderous robots, so it's on-brand.
Hey! I have a question. What will happen if you break, not the walls but the ceiling or the floors of the backrooms by using the tool like the hammer? Will you end up in a different level? Will you no-clip out of reality? Just tell me ok! I REALY want to know what will happen
My theory is that maybe he is using or he has low level Lazarus water with him. The moment his suit detects damage he gets a few drops of the lazarous water in his system healing him keeping you t too. Kinda like micro dosing. To prevent the bad effects. One day one of the writers is going to put this in a Batman story
I honestly thought the chestpiece was comprised of different mashed-together armor materials and on the outermost layer it was some strong metal, causing the sparks? (Edit) What do you think the shoulder pads are made of... they intrigue me.
Let us not forget the greatest armor the Batman is suited with to withstand the blast; and the reason why he is comfortable not covering the lower part of his face. Must feel like a warm blanket.
I feel like it would be easy to solve the open mask problem. Just have a face shield that deploys from the cowl for certain situations to cover the mouth, and when it's not needed bruce can just leave his mouth exposed to breathe easier. It's a superhero movie I feel like that would be enough to suspend disbelief.
This tendency of trying to make super-realistic batman movies is not very smart, for me at least, the better batman movies are the ones made by Tim Burton. It is a super hero for christ sakes...

Having given weeb levels of thought to this, batman's suit could be a mix of a titanium ring mail inside of a kevlar overcoat, compressed with a polyurea (like the truck bed liner) impregnation to stiffen it up and provide impact absorbance
the biggest shame is that Robert Pattinson's Batman will never meet Joaquin Phoenix's Joker. A movie where these two are on opposing sides would be interesting to see. It could have been on the same level as Bale/Ledger's chemistry
I think this batman meeting a dafoe joker would be perfect. Dafoe would be closer to the joker who had a family and went dark. He would be much more faithful to an BAS kind of joker than the ones we have seen

cause it also works as a good ad for it.
think about it, alot of people watch this, and it's a batman theory, making it more likely too get views.
it also shows what Style Theory is about, so yes, it would be a good pilot episode, but it makes a better ad.
@@thnecromaniac I actually didn't think about this, good point
I don’t see what kevlar, bullets and body armor, and explosions have to do with style. That’s not what style theory is about. You could say this is a mix of the two, but it’s certainly not style
@@thnecromaniac Yes, that’s very true.
Can you do a theory on whether Tony survives at the end of The Sopranos?
Great content as usual. HISHE of The Batman also covered, briefly, Batman taking an explosion to the face. I hope your Style Theory videos gain a million+ subscriptions before this month is over.
Thing is they ignored the fact that he clearly puts his arms up to protect his face. So many people ignore that but he clearly does it.
@@cleverpsyche115 12:00
@@cleverpsyche115 it clearly not helps at all in case of explosion...have you seen this video or not?
@@cleverpsyche115 that doesn't help at all if you are going to stan about at least make it realistic
Because he's a Superhero.
Its a comic book movie dude...
The look is too ingrained and iconic
@@sup3414 you're commenting about that when the purpose of the video is the realistic applications of the suit? By the argument that it's a comic book movie this entire video is redundant as well, so why did you bother to watch it or even click on it at all?
The Batman prequel novel has an entire section of him talking to the R&D department of Wayne Industries about getting an experimental armour they've been working on
I nearly died in the US Army due to a DESETS Van pressing me into the ground as it shredded the Kelvar Helmet as my hand was caught under the door frame. I could see the fabric through the 4 inch gash. It pressed into the ground and was drug 30 feet after two bounces.
I still didn't get the VA benefits till 2016 and the accident happened in 1999.
Matpat trying to figure out what type of armor Batman wears; me knowing he wears plot armor

Oh...guess I wasn't first...gg
Good job 👍

I actually once bought Kevlar and my family was so shocked at how strong it was because it looked like yellow thread.
I would like if you could cover how Michael from the good place could’ve made the perfect toucher place for our four main characters. I just finished watching the series I loved it🎉
He has a Kevlar 3d printer
Great points MattPat. Subbed. BTW, that bolt action rifle ("Winchester") you showed in 07:22 is more than likely firing a more powerful .308 round not a 5.56 (though you can get a 5.56 bolt-action rifle, it's uncommon).
Wow I guess that you could say that Batman was really BATtered and BRUCED (bruised). 10:50
Funny story, when you guys first launched food theory, I actually got like enraged. Because I totally thought somebody was doing some sort of deep fake of your voice, basically taking advantage of your format, and claiming it was you. Because I hadn’t seen the other videos that day, and like I was ready to fight. So uhm, glad I got the heads up about style theory.
I saw a guy copying everything from another creators content, even down to his physical background, background music, and speech style. Found out that he was the creator’s brother 😂
@@smbenga2You’re talking about MrBro aren’t you? Lol
@@hhj186 No, it was this guy named Frank who makes sports TikTok’s and shorts. He has a specific background, and style of video and I came across one of his brother’s shorts not knowing he had a brother. It was almost and copy and paste of his setup and even the specific short.
Let me tell ya,style theory is a BANGER. And I'm not surprised. Mat,Steph, and the team ALLWAYS drop bangers, and that's not a theory.
What's with the bots
I'm actually so excited for Style Theory. It'll be a mixture of my two love, fashion and science, and how to build a little confidence. Can't wait for more
Grew up watching you and now that I’m somehow an adult I can tell you @9:30 yes that does mean something to me bc I am military now and I loved how well done this video is
honestly, i have wondered about how effective those designs for women's armor would be
also, just gotta appreciate how consistent this man is. The dude has been making these theories for over a decade, and still takes up new ideas? BATshit crazy, and we all love ya for it, MatPat
I just binged style theory and it doesn't disappoint
Amazing work :)

You’re the first non bot comment I’ve seen
Naw it excellent definitely the most stylish theorist channel
Nah, it’s extremely disappointing and my day is ruined.
@The day is finally here FieRcE, you and your spam bots are not welcome on this site, so begone!
WayneTech is crazy at work. His suit is made of a titanium nanofibre woven into a kevlar-like bond. It then has solid layers of titanium coated ceramic plates. Should've done more research on what his suit is made of in the media

The bots ARE SWARMING!!!!!
alright humans, get out of the way *pulls out flamethrower*

Theory idea:
I was recently watching the Gravity Falls short "Mabel's Guide to Color," when this particular line from grunkle stan stuck out to me. This line was when he opened his blinds to a huge bright rainbow, he says:
"MY EYES ARE BURNING!! AHHH- AHHHH!"
This got me thinking...
I can’t wait for more style theory and (maybe) last part of the fnaf time line. I have watched the first episodes and I think this is gonna be amazing
3:47 pro tip matpat he also takes his frustration out on eyeshadow

Whoever on team theorists wrote the "superstitious and cowardly lot" lines, did great on that obscure reference to the Batman musical in Batman Beyond
Let us not forget the greatest armor the Batman is suited with to withstand the blast; and the reason why he is comfortable not covering the lower part of his face.
Must feel like a warm blanket.
Plot, Inc. makes the finest armor known to man
I feel like it would be easy to solve the open mask problem. Just have a face shield that deploys from the cowl for certain situations to cover the mouth, and when it's not needed bruce can just leave his mouth exposed to breathe easier. It's a superhero movie I feel like that would be enough to suspend disbelief.
Great video! Would be nice to see Reeves and the crew take this idea into account when filming the sequel.
Matpat always finds a problem with anything and anyone 💀
This tendency of trying to make super-realistic batman movies is not very smart, for me at least, the better batman movies are the ones made by Tim Burton. It is a super hero for christ sakes...
11:05
Honestly, if you don't "Weeeeeelll" with MatPat at this point... What are you even doing?
I'm not quoting it, but I'm going to start lol
I binged all the released episodes in one day on Style Theory! I'm not gonna lie, I actually rewatched the heels episode like 4 times already. It was so much fun!
8:55
'House of 1000 Corpses', anyone?
The parachute hit the bridge first acting as a seat belt, then it looks like most of the blow was actually to his chest where he would have a bullet proof vest on. Still painful, not deadly probably.
It caught on the bridge and swang him in to the bride. He was still going to fast.
OCD side of me is happy to see the ring completed! Other side of me is sad because no MUSIC THEORY!!! 😭 I feel like half the topics brought up for style theory could either be covered on game or film theory. But still, mad props to MatPat for running four channels AND the livestreams. Great work to everyone working on the Theorists team!
9:45 lol you're definitely in a couple of lists.
Dude I really hope that Mat does a theory one day about which is the best Robin out of all the ones we see over the years! ^^
Damian started off the most skilled/experienced as Robin so he'd probably be considered the best.
True but he lacks the emotional connection needed for dealing with victims, which is important as well.
Super excited to see the Style Theory vids on poison makeup and killer clothes (wondering if Arsenic Green might have anything to do with it)
You should do a theory on that wing sauce from Brooklyn 99 I mean can sauce by itself stop a bullet?
3:20 im glad somebody finally put into words why i prefer the Pattinson batsuit
Having given weeb levels of thought to this, batman's suit could be a mix of a titanium ring mail inside of a kevlar overcoat, compressed with a polyurea (like the truck bed liner) impregnation to stiffen it up and provide impact absorbance
Bro really plugged the hulk pants video 3 times. 💀💀💀
Matt has been uploading a lot now that Style Theory has been officially released and I am eating it up
Who else just appreciates how much work Mat puts in his vids and their hilarious 😂
And in 5 channels like wow that’s dedication
the biggest shame is that Robert Pattinson's Batman will never meet Joaquin Phoenix's Joker. A movie where these two are on opposing sides would be interesting to see. It could have been on the same level as Bale/Ledger's chemistry
Same. Coulda been like a back and forth chess movie. Like the Death Note anime.
I think this batman meeting a dafoe joker would be perfect. Dafoe would be closer to the joker who had a family and went dark. He would be much more faithful to an BAS kind of joker than the ones we have seen
I'm so used to the deep theories MatPat does that I wasn't expecting a lore based theory and I assumed he was going to explain the company's ownership of Batman and stuff.
Matrick Patthew, I am begging you to come out with a fifth orange quadrant, book theory
Thank you Matt, I've seen this film 4 times and I was very curious and confused how he withstood so many shots and an explosion. I like this kind of education an science on these fish, keep up the good work 👍🙏
Man,i need a Murder Drones theory now with how matpat keeps nailing it.
When it comes to stuff like this I think a combination of Bio Steel and Graphene would be surprisingly strong & light weight.
Your Batman voice is on point lol😂
Love this one! Keep it up matpat
Batman has always had a "suspend belief" while playing into just enough science to make it soom plausible but cool. Even his biggest strengh (intelligence/planning) wouldn't be enough for many of the situations he's in.
There ain't no way food theory came out in 2020.
I feel old
I'd love to know how expensive that batsuit would actually be!
Film Theory you got to make a theory about the Clone you know the clown Gumball for every episode he's been hidden in there could you please make a theory about that for my birthday please thank you have a good day
There’s one issue I’ve noticed, ceramic plates are really good at stopping bullets but tend to not hold up to multiple shots in a row due to them braking
That's why ceramic composites are used.
The composite makes up for the light atoms in a pure ceramic plate.
Matpat should do a theory about murder drones. It’s a really good series and I think he would do a good theory on it.
That would be awesome if you tried to explain skimpy armor.
