Marlon was born in the wrong era like many of his peers during that time . If he had played in the present day, he would have been one of Sri Lanka's top players.
Most of the cricketers in marlons days always maintained the glory and pride of the game. .... Lately, the game was sold or bought over by bookkeepers.....and encouraged T20, which ruined the beauty of the cricketing art. Most of the cricketers of past time don't open out this truth ...to keep their popularity or immediate interests towards the role they play at the cricketing erena. 50 over the real game competitor.....Test is where art and beauty of the game cushion the richness. By the way, where are those burghers gone??? Very sadly missed them in the cricketing arena in SL...they were the real entertainers, Whatever they were involved.
He didn't get enough opportunity because he didn't satisfy other requirements. Even today certain players are unfairly criticized for reasons other than cricket.

In Marlon's final year in College 1984 , the big match vs Trinity at Katugastota - put up a century opening stand in day 1. Marlon and Angelo Wickremasuriya ? both scored tons... For Trinity , Chaminda Unantanne scored a quickfire 81.... 🙏🙏🙏
