    I play summer games. Great way to keep myself in shape and it’s a ton of fun, no tournaments. The best part is, it’s all at my local rink!!

      What a shame. I pity folks who grew up playing football (USA) or baseball. Hockey involves such a unique experience. Your team is not attached to your school so your traveling around with guys bonding and playing the greatest sport on earth.

    Very helpful. Regarding helmets - keep in mind that helmets have an expiry date. They won't "fail" immediately, but I have seen foam parts disintegrate because they were so old. Also check on visors, cages and mouth guards. And don't forget to stock up on stick tape and laces. Always have spares. "Murphy" is watching and laces tend to fail when you don't have replacements on hand.

    • @codypendency9482
      @codypendency9482 7 лет назад

      Phil... refs never check them here in Alberta and honestly the padding usually doesn't go bad and for 300 dollars im probably gonna just replace the hardened foam and print a new sticker

  • @dillonbrollier7888

    If you can find a helmet repair kit that can be a life saver. It has replacement screws and fasteners that can replace old one missing ones. Was in the room before a game and lost a screw on my helmet, just replaced it right then and there.

    I noticed the higher performance and more expensive the stick the less durable it is.

      there meant for performance not durability

      But when a stick is breaking every 1.5 - 2 seasons and you don't have an infinite amount of sticks at ur disposal like a pro, it get very annoying to keep buying new sticks

    • @JeffreyGWang
      @JeffreyGWang 7 лет назад +3

      stick breaking once every 2 seasons? I wish!! , i go through at least once every month and a half maybe 2 if I'm lucky. Ive gone through 2 this summer already. Sticks aren't expensive if you have a buddy in the pros or junior you can get them for cheap. My sticks average to be around $70 cad not too much at all . My question is how do you use one stick for an entire season?

    • @xxshniperweselxx8306
      @xxshniperweselxx8306 7 лет назад +1

      Jdubs 02 but when u live in Australia, hockey equipment is already impossible too find, and the pricing is mental. 100-200+AUD for a low to medium quality stick it is an issue. Australia is always expensive but for hockey it is just retarded cause there are only about 5 shops in Sydney.

      MrMysterious check out nonamehockey (it's a brand) they have great stick for a very affordable price, I'm currently playing one and I really like it!

    • @inthetopcorner817
      @inthetopcorner817 7 лет назад

      MrMysterious Not really any "need" there, I am almost exactly your dimensions and I've been loving my 87 flex 1x. Best advice is to go to your local hockey shop and see which stick feels best. Based purely on your physical profile, I would recommend something like an 87 or 85 flex stick though, unless you take a lot of slap shots... then maybe a 95 or 100.

    • @collinruesch5989
      @collinruesch5989 7 лет назад +1

      MrMysterious the flex should be about half your weight

    • @ryanb6679
      @ryanb6679 7 лет назад

      MrMysterious yes get a 1x there amazing sticks I really get good power and accurate shots in my snap shot but don't get it if you take a bunch of slap shots get a 1n it's still accurate but you wont get as much power as the 1x and the 1s i think it's terrible because I like low kick point sticks but I have heard from others that it's good

    • @BoomBox5168
      @BoomBox5168 7 лет назад

      MrMysteriou' stick should be the height of your nose when on your tip toes, normally you cant find an exact fit so you may need o cut it down a bit, with flex try and get one that is half your weight ^-^
