The music in the finale feels off without zip-a-dee-doo-dah
I noticed this too. If it weren’t for racism, none of this would have happened!
The finale also lacks the brief snippet of ‘When I See An Elephant Fly’ as well. Not surprised that either were removed but it kinda stinks regardless
@@andrewcb9255 I was wondering if anyone else noticed that! I know Disney wants to pretend the Song of the South doesn't exist, but why Dumbo too? Even the Pinocchio "I've Got No Strings" part is reduced to just instrumental...sounds so lifeless for what's supposed to be the grand ending of the parade.
Probably because the finale music was designed to use Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, so now it’s just empty.
What a shame, Festival of Fantasy came back as a half-assed parade :(
The final song doesn't hit the same with so much of it missing because of the removal of "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" and the other songs. It was such a seamless transition: "M-O-U-S-Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah..." etc. I feel for the performers who didn't get to return; Entertainment Cast Members are being treated poorly by Disney. And for distancing poor Wendy had to walk with the boys instead of getting to be by Peter. That one was rough. I'm glad that the parade has returned for guests that enjoy it and for the cast members who got to come back but I hope it will be 100% again. Also we need a nighttime parade at MK kthxbye.

Agreeing with Lumity on the missing characters, particularly Anna and the princes that are supposed to be with their princesses on that first float. At least we still get Philip, who IMHO is the best prince of Disney, and Flynn, who personally steals my heart every time.
Right? I love Prince Phillip! I think he’s the most active prince. He fought a dragon!
Noticeably less performers and they took out the entire Brave float. Also, why are they still social distancing in the parade when they're not in the stage show?
“Our cast members are the heart of all that we do” so why are 75% of them cut from this parade? Happy to see Entertainment returning but sad & worried for the future when major edits like this have to happen :(
Listen I work in the industry and I get that stuff happens, covid has been tough on all of us, but could they not work out a way to get everyone who used to be in this parade back in it? I know there’s another new parade but it seems like a consolation prize or like the “b squad” to FOF and that’s not fair at all to these talented and hard working individuals. It’s probably a union thing, I think the union the castle show performers are in allows them to be less than 6 feet apart (maybe they do additional testing and get additional protections/benefits when it comes to health) whereas for this parade (and I guess for some other things like meet and greets and, surprisingly, the BATB stage show at Studios which I thought was union??) these performers aren’t union and are subject to different rules and therefore need to distance (1 character per float, etc). Which sucks. There needs to be a better solution. This can’t be the way it is forever. I sure hope things change for the better in due time.
I believe they have to be fully vaccinated and proven to be vaccinated to work at WDW I just got accepted to do the DCP and I needed to send in my vaccination forms to Disney to work there.

I am sure that probably later this year more and more of the original characters will probably come back so don’t get too teary-eyed. The reason why Braves float Is not in there it’s because she is already a part of the adventure friends Cavalcade

I get that subtracting some characters and dancers saves money but this is just another kick to the face

I recently went on the Keys to the Kingdom tour at Magic Kingdom, and our tour guide said the reason it took so long for FOF parade to come back was because of termites, the same issue that plagued SpectroMagic, coincidentally the floats where stored in the same building
Not sure how true it is, but I am inclined to believe the tour guide.

Hello. I am Japanese. The Pinocchio and Donald float was used in a past Japanese parade, Jubilation. Glad to see them again!

As happy as I am to see the Festival of Fantasy parade return to the Magic Kingdom, I have to admit I'm disappointed with the modified version. They should have brought back all the characters and had them on their floats and included Brave float. I feel like this is just a cheap imitation of the parade we all know and love, including removing the song Zippa Dee Doo Dah. Way to go, Bob PAYCHECK!!!!

I thought Merida was gonna be in FOF so they could add Mirabel to the other new parade. Missed opportunity
They’re adding her to Main Street electrical in Disneyland so maybe they’re focusing on her over there for now so they can get situated here in wdw sometime soon 🤞🏼 fingers crossed
You can really see how hard hit the entertainment cast members were!!! There was no swan court dancers, half the flower maidens were not there, some lost boys were not there, and the whole circus dancers crew was missing….. they just held huge auditions so I’m hoping they can fill back in the spots!!!

No Royal Court, then Beast and Princes gone, ..lots of dancers missing..its a shame..unless they will slowly bring the full cast of the parade ..I miss the balloon showgirls most! Those costumes were the best!
Does anyone know where to find the "Grand Marshal Music" that plays before the trumpets for Festival of Fantasy? I'd love to add it to my runDisney mix but have no clue how to find it.
Ironic to start the parade with CMs and Disney praising CMs but they cut most of the CMs from this parade lol

Although I’m happy to see the parade return, I can’t help but be thoroughly disappointed. Sure, COVID plays a major part here, but why return a parade if it is merely a husk of what it used to be? I was so excited when the parade started, but towards the end felt a little bit empty. Between the lack of energy (due to missing performers), a completely missing parade float, and the long and awkward instrumental segments that used to be “zip-a-dee-doo-dah” and “when I see an elephant fly”, it was missing all the magic. The finale felt like it suffered the most, which is a shame because it used to be my favorite part. On top of all the missing music, Mickey and Minnie didn’t talk to each other during the finale. If I knew the parade would be like this, I’d probably have preferred they introduce a new parade, perhaps for the 50th anniversary celebration, rather than running an old show with half of what it used to be…
Are they still not allowed to interact with guests during the parade? I remember this is a special parade to me because before COVID chip and dale I called their name and they both created a magical memory for me. Dale grabbed chips hand and they both gave me a hug and a kiss at the same time during the parade and it was nay first time seeing the parade. I can’t wait for character interactions to come back again if they ever do.

That’s awesome then I’m going to bring my autograph book with me when I move to Disney in August and I also am going to bring my Mickey Mouse stuffed animal with me to get sighted by Mickey to.
I wonder if this is this is intentional that no float character stand directly next to someone else for the parade duration as an ongoing covid measure. My only worry is knowing the current state of Disney World it will never bump up to the original numbers
Trying to decide if we want to park hop to MK to see the parade, looking at this video, it isn't the same parade as precovid. Seeing all the cast members dance and the singing was my favorite part. This parade is missing the energy and excitement of parades in the past.

There needs to be A Disney 50 anniversary parade (like Disney 25). How much could it possibly cost to rebrand some optics and play the DISNEY50 theme song (THE MAGIC IS CALLING).

I'm happy that the parade is back, but it's smaller than the original parade. The parade was shortened due to the pandemic. At least it's back!
How do you catch the times of this? At Magic Kingdom tomorrow?

The cast members at the end have carts to hold the ropes that get taken down for the pardes. Walking with the carts in front of them helps with crowd control at the end of the parade, too. People might try to run around a person, but will avoid trying to run around a cart they likely would fall over.
"Well at least the parade is back in some capacity. I sure am happy even if I'm disappointed." What a ridiculous mentality. Disney could have brought the whole thing back or done something different, and instead they brought back a half-assed version.
And people willing to be happy at all are why Disney isn't exactly keen on fixing a lot of things.
Congratulations, Disney, on your "hospital skeleton crew" approach. People might be disappointed, but hey at least they're happy with it!
Are the princesses being alone for Woman’s month I wonder or did they just understaff the parade and not have princes
Several CMs are out of the parade. No Merida, several princes are gone, Wendy isn't on a float now....seems to be missing a part of the parade. However, I still had a tear in my eye when I say Maleficient shoot fire.
Tracy is going to Florida in October 27th to magic kingdom with Chantelle to watched the parade with Belle , Cinderella Taina , Anna Rupunzel , Flynn, Ariel , Peter , Wendy , Prince Philip , Malfcelf dragon , Snow White, Alice Hatter, Pluto , Goofy , Donald and Dasiy Minnie andmickey , Dale and chip lost boys
Festival of Fantasy Light. After watching the parade I came to the realization that the WDW I knew and loved is gone for good. It's been replaced with a "light" version. Pay more for less and subvert my expectations because nothing at WDW will ever be as grand as it once was. Elements of the parks that I loved have been removed because of the straw man of someone was offended. The experience seems hollow now.
