Caleb you are a great farrier. I love watching your video and this draft’s foot was incredible. Of all the horses I’ve seen this has to be one of the largest hooves ever. Great job man.
They are such gentle giants these Clydsdales. Big!! But gentle. Patience galore as well for whatever you're asking of them. Job well done, From a Retired Paramedic, a S&R Dog and Handler Team Trainer and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖🇨🇦Sir!!
You are my favorite to watch, I think you are very caring, and knowledgeable in this craft! Thank you for your care and kindness t for these beautiful horses!🤗✌️👏🏼🥰
BLESS YOU!! For explaining what you are doing and the reasons! Other videos show the work but do not explain what is happening. I appreciate this video and hope I see more of your videos like this one.
Love your videos, so informative and interesting, I would really love to see the beautiful horse you’re working on, thank you so much for posting, and take care.👍💙🐴
I live in Belgium, the origin of the Belgian draft horse. There aren't many left, as they are not doing actual work anymore. Sometime we see them at folkloristic events and shows. Magnificent animals and very impressive. In the Ardennes draft horses still pull timber out of the forest, as they can reach places were no machines have access. Their hooves don't destroy the soil in the forest like tractors do.
I can certainly appreciate how big this lady’s hooves are and was my first thought when I first saw the video. However, if any of you ever want to see a horse whose hooves ARE as big AND bigger than dinner plates, go see the Budweiser Clydesdales. I have seen them up close and personal and I know what I’m talking about. They truly are giants and the people Budweiser pays to take care of them do an excellent job of it. Magnificent animals they are!
Great job I remember My in Puerto Rico when i whas in my town playing whit the horse 🐴 in putting horse shoes whaoooo the bring me memories thank you for share.
Not sure how it is over there but we can recycle saran wrap, appreciate some of it will come off too dirty but for clean feet that could be an option to rebut the anti plastic bunch
My dogs would love those cookies. I have a mini gypsy cob and I’ll try the plastic wrap to get her feathers out of my way. I have one question, I always treat for thrush. A drop of peroxide or thrush product only takes a second to finish a foot. Of the videos I’ve watched nobody does that. Why? That is a beautiful foot. Nice job.
Why don't you shoe the hind hoof? My sister did dressage at Devon and other venues, so I've been around farriers at work, to some degree. There is more I don't know than I do know, so I'm just interested. For example, you answered my question about why the hooves of wild horses don't end up looking like elves shoes.
amazing when you can read a hoof so exactly and know which is dead and where the critical zones are another case of: looks so easy when done by a real pro and re the plastic wrapper thing: I guess another important issue is that you do not spread around some germ/ fungus or something (if you re-used stuff and travel far and wide from stable to stable)
@@jamesbizs I made a simple statement of fact that anyone can hear in the video. Your being childishly upset about it says more about your state of mind than anything else.
Had to rewind at the 2 minute mark. Was not sure if that was my phone or if he had his phone indicating a message. Second time you could tell it was his phone because you could tell he had moved his head away from the mic to silence or view who was sending the message.

She’s being so patient. Gentle Giants!
I've often heard people referring to these draft horses hooves as dinner plates. This is more like as big as serving plate 😅. Fantastic job here.
Best description that I have heard on you tube on hoof trim.
Learn a lot from listening to you. Appreciate it.
Thank you

@@caleberickson_The_Dying_Breed thank you so much, I’ll look forward to seeing her, love horses so much.👍
Have had Belgian draft horses the last 18 years, love them ❤
You give an excellent description of how and why you trim the foot. It is very interesting to see.
He has a soothing voice, too.
Wow ..thats the biggest hoof I've seen too!
I love watching you guys shoe. It is an amazing process. Good verbal description as well.
Great work, Sir! That sure is one giant hoof!!!😳 Best wishes from Canada🙏🏼🍀👋🏼🇨🇦

It really is enjoyable to watch you. My favorite part is the big file.
That hoof is the size of a dinner plate! wow. Great job
Thank you for your wonderful explanation of everything you’re doing. I learned a lot.
Beautiful job! Great use of saran wrap!

Awesome trim and awesome horse!
That’s a big hoof. Well done.
I know nothing about horses but I'm learning so much. Great, clear explanations

Great work👍🏼🐴❤️
Man! That's one huge hoof!
I love working on drafts. You will never see one with a weak development in the back of the hoof.
VERY VERY NICE JOB.
Great. Show the horse! , it would of been nice to see who was attached to that hoof. 7:58
Once you nipped that first time, the hoof looks like an owl. That's kinda cool
Great job dude
That's one jinormous hoof🤍🤍🤍🐴🐴🐴
Good Lord, that's a big hoof!
I’ve had good luck using gaiter masks for keeping the hair up and out of the way, slide on and off rather easy and no waste
Beautiful trimming, but..everything we use is plastic?
That hoof is massive
Not sure how it is over there but we can recycle saran wrap, appreciate some of it will come off too dirty but for clean feet that could be an option to rebut the anti plastic bunch
Nicely done ✅

I'm a new viewer and like watching and would like to know why you file the outside around the foot
❤❤❤thanks your cool
Massive hoof omg
You guys should Cary a hair clip to pull that extra hair back to help the guy working.
Well done
These hoofs are as large as my cake mixing bowls. Wow
What is the breed? That’s a crazy big foot!

Wish I could've seen this horse.
@@ItsAStephanieB the newest video you can see her
Why not put Saran wrap around hair first, then hair out of way when doing the bottom of the hoof? Thanks 😊
👍👍👍🐴🐴🐴
Wow!
You didn’t show us the finished product
it would be nice to get a look at the whole horse at some point, just to see what belongs to that giant foot.
Interesting video but whatever audio is playing in the background under your narration is very distracting.
It's an anti trans discussion about Bud Light.
@@johnahearn6438 oh shut up. Dylan is not trans. Stop defending him.

The bottom of that hoof looks like the face of a barn owl.
Dont you put shoes on heavy draft horse's?.
That's a bad case of thrush. Must smell bad!
Please show the animal first !
What a mess
being stepped on y one of those hoofs would be paimful af or kicked by one youve go frying
You got us watching the same horse trim on 4 different platforms for over 3 months… Chill out
Terrible approach to use of plastic
You are not a good owner
Can you use a grinder?
Wow. Loved the guy I. The background talking about bud light😂
