Your hammer control with a stone hammer and anvil is growing rapidly! It's admirable how dedicated you are to the process, enough that you can draw out a narrow tang while keeping the stock square, and all without a level, faced anvil!
Thank you. Well the anvilstone may not be level but it did become a whole lot flatter when I did all that weldig for the axes. But I too am surprised over how quickly the hammer arm got used to the primitve tools.
You did so well setting the teeth with a massive hammer I want to see how sharp it’d cut if you added a jointer and a tooth set and spider gauge to the kit. Well done!!!
They sure are, but of course you can also buy a saw, bought saws are sheep and in many ways better. What I like about having made a hand made saw is that I now know that I have the knowledge. Knowledge is control. I am not dependent of civilization to get a saw anymore. Until the day you make one, you are 😉
@@gustavthane2233 Sure. I agree. I already have a saw that I've been using for a couple of years. But like you say, knowledge is power. Taking power from the big man and putting it in my own pocket. Slowly becoming more and more independent. Until the bigger man crash it down again, and the cycle repeats. Kinda dark, but true.
Did you make it? This seems to be the only video actually making a small saw on youtube. I know I can make a knife and an axe that can compare decently with commercial ones. I don't like that the saw in my bushcraft kit is store bought because I get a kick out of using stuff I made myself, even if it is lower performance. But I'm really wondering how much performance you lose with a saw, seeing as it's a much more intricate tool to make(compared to knives and axes) and saw technology is pretty advanced nowadays.
Thank you Dieter, so do I, you commenting here probably help the algorithm to suggest me to others. But then again, I am happy you joined my adventure in the forest, but it is not for everyone.
I hope not. We shouldn't make this knowledge mainstream or the government will just restrict our fun, like with everything else. Stay small, stay smart. Avoid trouble.
Wow this video is pretty unique and the saw works really well. Although those looks like rip teeth. I think you could chisel cross-cut teeth to improve performance since most of the cuts you make in the woods are across the grain, but you'd need a specialized file to sharpen them.
Thank you, Yes perhaps so. I did it this way as an attempted middle ground between various ways of sawing and ways of making a saw. But tools can always become better, even if the final result of a product is not in the tool but in the hand and eye of a user 😉
Yes, I am happy to have you all here but I also thought more People would subscribe, it would have made it possible to make more videos. I have stopped using Swedish words in the thumbs and stopped the 360 that quite did not work. But I have no idea of what else to do, I am not much of a click bait sort of person.
@@gustavthane2233 well, i would say your thumbnails are not so attractive, as to catch attention. Theyre all kindof bland and doesnt really highlight both the subject (the tool the video focuses on) and the theme (wilderness/primitive bushcraft etc). Check out primitive technology for instance, thumbnails are bright colored, shows something intriguing and clearly demonstrates the primitive environement most of us crave. Im no expert but i feel that would make a difference. And the white text font you use doesnt stand out that much. Given the amount of views you have its clear that the content itself isnt the issue but the fact that people just dont click the video at all. hope it works out!
I am fucking lucky man that I found your channel bro. It changed my thinking. Greetings from Poland. Ave Sygryda Storråda- princess of Poland and the queen of Sweden 😁
Yes I made the blade by hand in my forest forge, but I chose not to harden it since I want it to be possible to sharpen with the file forged in the previous episode. I used a carbon steel to begin with, not wrought iron.

Very good work! Exactly what I was interested in.

Nice! I haven't tried making a saw before. Only knifes, which I don't need. Now I have to make a saw. They are actually useful. Thanks bror.

fantastic! subscribed!
surprisingly this awesome video currently has less than 1000 views!
Thank you, yes, surprisingly, one day it will trend but today we are just a few. I keep making more videos while we wait.

Awsome, thanks for saying so.
Бро , а теперь нужен ролик по производству 3-гранных напильников методом каменной ковки и насечки .
Он он, да. Звучит как прибыльный бизнес.
Amazing job 👌 did you make a heat treat on the Blade?
