Curcular dry foam is actually something called a fracable,as in fracture, it dries to a crisp brittle material that is easy to remove with vacuume because of the vibration and bristles breaking it up like micro peanut brittle cracking and fracturing into chunks and shards enveloping the soil like the brittle does the peanuts. Before cleaning the dirt and the fiber had opposite charges, while drying they have the same charge wich will repelle the soil from the fiber allowimg for the Kirby guard to attach to amorphis sites on the fibers. This type of foam is extremely low residue. ( it is supposed to be circular dry foam at the beggining.)nice video thank you.
Thank you for this! I can't used my VHS tape anymore because its seen better days...lol. I forget this routine EVERYTIME! This is great and your accent makes it all the better ! lisa
tyvm for this demonstration . I was given this machine when my sister in law went into assisted living . I didn't use it for a while thinking it probably wouldn't do a good job like most machines . I was wrong . This machine is awesome . My old icky carpet looks new again . Thanks .
I used my kirby shampoo attachment for the first time yesterday on large thick pile rugs. Layed down the foam waited 10 minutes then again with the shampoo off. I then waited a few hours for it to dry then vacuumed it. Amazing results like the rugs had been tumble dried. Used kirby shampoo and it takes less than 2 minutes to set up the attachment.
I'll be doing a Kirby foam party this summer on mom's bedroom and study when she leaves for holiday. They're good for light soiling but for deep cleaning I would still use an extraction machine like a Bissell. Nonetheless the Kirby shampoo system is super fun to use!
if you have foam cumulating in the collection tray, it means you are pulling it too slow, if the foam collects infront of the cleaner it is snow ploughing it takes the foam off. so when spreading the foam, start by pulling it in backstrokes on a lower carpet adjustment the brush not touching the carpet but only the tray. once the foam is down adjust the machine to the lowest level allowing the brush to renovate and scrub the carpet without giving foam. also do this in back strokes, lifting the machine front and pulling back over the foam areas..
This takes me back almost 20 years to when my parents were shampooing the carpets using the grandmother's kirby! They had no idea what to do with it so i remember it seemed to be a stressful few days. I just liked the fact it had drive/neutral and a light on it! I must admit, it looks a bit easier than i remember!
Thanks for the demo! I have the same Kirby model for 8+ years now; reading the general instructions, and using the shampoo attachment a few times... I still wasn't shampooing correctly. : / I would get a LOT of water in the carpet (as well as foam) and it took all day with fans to dry completely. Just had the shampoo attachment going now and then the belt broke... (sigh...) But I L.O.V.E. this model ~ I just need more practice.... and some belts.
Did this actually clean well, or just create a big mess? Between swapping attachments, the procedure, and the cleanup of the machine, I think I'd rather just get any number of good (and less expensive) dedicated shampooers you've demonstrated. It was neat to see it in action, but it seems like too much hassle. Another great video, Roger. Thank you!
Ted I got one. In fact I bought a second one for down stairs. Had the first 12 years, still fantastic. Don’t bother buying it for the purpose of carpet washing. Vacuums fantastic, carpet cleaning sucks, doesn’t clean at all
Nice! I've only bothered with a Kirby to clean a carpet once. Seems more of a refresher really than a clean so I like the extractor machines better. But to vacuum carpeting the Kirby is an awesome machine. The most important thing though is whether or not your mother approved of the carpet when you finished!😉
Great video Roger, did seem a bit messy though say compared to a Vax. Love your socks and wonder where you buy them from? Love you and your demonstrations and love seeing your dogs but the highlight for me is what socks your be wearing?
Thanx for that Roger, Love the way your shirts coordinate with your socks. The Miele Scout looks classy. Iv got the i robot roomba but found the 2supplied batteries did not do too many recharges before the runtime on them started getting shorter and shorter. The whole thing needs new brushes etc now so iv not used it in a while. On the whole the device did a decent job on the carpets but the last time I used it, it seemed to have a mental breakdown and just spun round and round on the spot! Oh well. Many thanx for what you do and hope you, your partner, mum and the dogs are OK.
No, but you need to use the foaming type that is designed to be vacuumed up once it’s dry. Make sure you dilute it according to the instructions on the bottle.
My kirby vacuum attachment is dropping the belt instead of picking it up. It's like the hook is backward and it was fine before I shampooed. How can that be possible?
Very interesting! And very good video Roger! Question: doesn't the liquid from the shampoo tank get drawn into the fan chamber of the machine? And if yes, don't you have to somehow clean out the fan chamber and belt spindle before using the vacuum again un normal cleaning mode? I imagine the powerful suction is still created while in shampoo mode which means it must be drawing liquid into the machine during this process. Must be quite a job to clean the fan after this - no?
Brian Torobin Lucky, Kirby is a smart company! I wondered the same thing, but nope, quite the opposite actually. The amount of air that gets drawn into the machine is limited, thanks to the brush guard, and, with that the little bit of air it does suck in, gets forced into the tank, through the mesh screen, drawing in some of the solution, and then forced out through the tube, into the carpet, and voila, Kirby's Dry Foam! Hope that helps!
Great video! Can you please do a review on the portable shampooer? I love my Kirby, but I’m getting watermarks on upholstery and it just doesn’t seem clean when using the portable shampooer. I think I may be using it wrong. Anyway, thank for the great content!
I followed the directions but my foam comes out in straight little line and and not across the length of the vacuum 😭 everywhere but the thin line was dry
No part two I'm afraid as it would have only showed the Kirby vacuuming the area after it was dry. The carpet wasn't dirty so it didn't look any different. I may dirty up a rug at some point and test it on a real mess.
Looks like you were moving a bit slow when applying the foam so you over foamed a bit. For tough stains I add a cup of 6% 20 volume hydrogen peroxide in the mix and it blasts pet, blood, wine and any natural stains away. If you have ink or makeup stains just add a little ammonia It’s a great low moisture (VLM) cleaner Good to see you trying it out 👍
I hooked my Kirby up and it started beautifully. About ten seconds in I smelled something burning and saw that the rubber drive band snapped... I shut it off immediately and unplugged it. =/ , there was smoke coming from the hot drive shaft of the motor and the inside of the machine =(. Looks like im dishing out for a crap rug doctor tommorow.
@@spencerwilton5831 I didn't know it was the belt that burnt! I thought it was the internals that got maybe shorted or something along those lines. I ended up inspecting it longer, replacing the belt and it worked fine. Thank you though.
Well that looked impressive and as you've already shown in another video the Kirby also agitates the carpet well when vacuuming. I wouldn't of considered buying a Kirby up until now but I maybe tempted by a used or reconditioned Kirby. The foam system reminds me of the old 1001 dry foam cleaner. Here is a link to an old advert on youtube: ruclips.net/video/A3wacuIsdug/видео.html
Don't ever get a demo, ever ever EVER, you'll play Hell trying to get them to leave! Just buy one online. Trust me on this. Unless you like frustration and being HAMMERED ON to buy one for like $2500 - then progressively offering lower prices and trying to make deals - like...they're trained to be relentless and not take no for an answer so just don't 😂
Not a big fan of the Kirby shampooer. It leaves a light film on the carpet which attracts more dirt and makes it feel a little odd on barefeet. It's okay, but not a substitute for a steamer or one that sucks dirt out of the carpet.
If there was ever a product that looks American - it is this! Just get a Bissell and save yourself a fortune. Notice the foam is white once vacuumed, showing no signs of dirt being absorbed into it.
Lousy way to clean a carpet, sorry. I've used these and they're easily the weakest part of the Kirby system, unwieldy, messy, low capacity, and just not very effective. Does it work? ...Yes. Kind of. But steam cleaning is really about the only way to go - and if you want to be real, a Rug Doctor will eat this thing alive. (Those do seem to work fairly well.)
I love people who can Domo like this! Thank you. Your instructions are clear, and step by step, so I can see exactly what I need to do! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

I have had the same machine for 17 years and still works beautifully
I bought mine in 1998, and have never had a problem of any kind. The Kirby is the "Rolex" of vacuum cleaners.
@jaydee3696 I'm learning to hate my machine.
It's November 2024, do you still have it?
That carpet looked pretty clean before the cleaning, nice video.
Thanks pal!
Just picked up one of these beauties from our church rummage sale and your video made it so easy to put together!
Nice video!
Really like seeing the shampooer in action.
It was fun for me too as it was the first time I used it.
@@ibaisaic kirby now has the multi surface shampoo system.
Kirby is a really good vacum
This is a huge improvement over previous generations when the belt slipped incessantly. The fragrance is lovely though.
I don't know what it is but this is so satisfying :D
I just got that same kirby and I'm getting the shampoo system in a few days. I'm excited.
Wonderful instructions, all my questions answered. Cant wait to do it again your way. Thanks!
Great video Roger binge watch your older videos I didn’t know you had one of these 👍👍
Thank you for the simple instructions 👌
That's so amazing wow I'd love to have one but it's expensive

They would be good for surface dirt and for a quick clean that requires a faster dry time.
Great tutorial! Love the results!

I love the carpet shampoo system! :)
I used to have that vaccuum but it broke. I loved that vaccuum RIP 1980-2016
The Kirby ultimate G is a cross between the G6 and the G3 so it’s a vacuum cleaner hybrid 😂
The best tutorial ever!!! Thanks for making it so easy👏👏🤗
What were the results?

I had to refer to RUclips to see what to do. Shame we didn't have YT 20 years ago.
thankyou for the excellent thorough demo of the shampoo attachment

That was a good show you are doing better than I thought it is a good time to go to the hospital for his checkup for you today

I have the older version of the diamond edition but it's still pretty good
I miss that kind of shampoo hose I have the elbow hose on my Avalir
how did I miss this!! lol well guess I do get to see how you like the shampooer system welp guess I will finish the video
And yes 👍🏻
What happened to your classic iii if you still have it can you show it pls
I like it Mr ibasiac. how would you rate this against the bissill you've demonstrated

I have found that it creates a lot of foam as well. I thought I was doing something wrong.
It seems to foam up a fair bit in the Kirby demo videos, so I was expecting it.
How long did it take to dry?
are you going to mack a second video
I will be macking lots of videos.

We have that Kirby
Have you ever heard of a rainbow vacuum cleaner?
Yes many times. I have also heard about a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but it's very unlikely that I will ever get my hands on either.
ibaisaic I like that, that's "punny". I love my rainbow cleaner. It can do anything a Kirby can do but to me it cleans better.
Does it have a sanding attachment?
ibaisaic unfortunately no but I just use use a palm sander for sanding things.
U say it works better but I've sold kirbys to 10 people so far I'm 5 weeks in to people with rainbow doesnt work for shit
Nice🎉
Ibisaic do you play games?
Only physiological ones.
appreciate it m8
I im Kirby fan to Rodger
I have one just like that
Betty Cepeda Jones what is your opinion of your Kirby's performance?
