  • It is great when public transportation companies are curious, rather than judging on assumptions when they see a new assistive device.
Coastal Mountain Bus Company in Vancouver BC, Canada, invited us to come and show how the Alinker can be taken on a bus, do it in a safe manner, so that the user as well as the fellow passengers are safe.
There are a few options, and depending on the preferences of the users, please see the video to see how to get on a bus and how to store it, either while seated on it, or next to it.

The city buses in Anchorage Alaska have a specially designated spot for disabled passengers and their Mobility devices. If they need to use a Mobility device then there are procedures for loading and unloading and securing them and their devices. Wheelchairs Walkers Etc the most important thing is that these devices can be safely to secure so they do not fly around if there is an unfortunate accident. That and that their users need to either be able to use a regular seat or face forward on their Mobility device when the bus is in motion.

anybody has the right to get on a bus. People will be inconvenienced, but that is their problem. People have equal access rights

The Americans with Disabilities Act overrides a full bus. Federal law says they have the right to accommodation on public transportation. As long as they wait their turn like everyone else they deserve the opportunity to go wherever they need to go.
