I read about 150 pages of Embassytown and had to return it to my library as well. But, alas, it's been quite a long time. So, I have re rented the book and will start from the beginning. Looking forward to it though. I remember liking it. Love the review!
Thank you. I actually just decided to purchase it, because I'm very scattered in what I decide to read and when. Have you read any other Mieville books? I hear such great things about his style of stories.
The Fancy Hat Lady Reads! They are very bizzare, surreal, and so much fun. I just read this census taker. I loved it, but I have so many questions haha. Have you read that one?
I thought it one of his top few books and I am a big fan of his work. He always raises some complex issues about individuality and society.

Thanks, hope you get farther in it this time!

@@bmoneybby Unfortunately, I haven't read any more of his books, even though I meant to after reading this one!
Great book reviews and I love the hats! It's the cherry on top so to speak. :)
Can't wait to check this out, I loved the Bas-Lag books.
I haven't read the Bas-Lag books, but I'm sure I will some day, since unusual and bizarre fantasy is right up my alley!

So far, Embassytown is the only Mieville I've read, which is really odd, since I'm usually so much more of a fantasy reader than sci-fi!
This review makes me want to continue reading the book. I have read a few chapters and wanted to stop, so thank you!
You're welcome!
Reading it right now.
